It is incredibly difficult to earn gems without paying money, but it makes sense when considering the small size of the Habitica team and model for operation. It's not impossible, though, so patience and perseverance pay off! Habitica has helped me a bunch in the short time that I've been using it so far. I've been doing so much better with many things! It's also fun, and addictive enough to really motivate me to good habits. Thank you, Habitica team!

Might be helpful. Displays often fail to update though, and the structure doesn't allow for "do this task X times within Y timeframe" - it can only track one instance of a task at a time. Avatars are quite ugly. Still, I don't think it's a bad app, just not ideal for what I wanted to use it for.

No productivity app beats Habitica. I've been a user for almost ten years and a subscriber for a few years and I LOVE Habitica! However, recently the reliability of the software has gone down quite a lot and I very often get 500 errors and sync errors in the app on a daily basis. Please take some time to shore up your infrastructure and code. I know it can be tough, but with the loss of your community recently, you can't afford to lose more users and I would like for y'all to stick around!

Genuinely disappointed :( I don't get a single notification at the time I scheduled them for. I turned off battery saver and another setting to actually get the notifications to pop up at all, but they come 3-16 minutes late on day 1. The whole purpose for an app like this is for timed notifications to keep a tighter schedule without using Google spyware. 3:03 is not 3:00. Yes, even 3 minutes can throw your entire day off with a tight enough schedule. Fix this and I'll reinstall.

It's a great app! However, I do have a complaint. When adding items to the "To-Do's" section, if you add a due date to the item, it won't sort itself. You'll have to drag it where it needs to go. Yes, there's a filter to sort it by date, but it would be more efficient if it was already programmed to sort it by date on its own. Which would be especially useful for people who are students and want to add all their assignments, such as myself.

very fun and cute but very glitchy. the notification chime only happens when my phone is on silent which is really weird and causes me to not notice reminders, seems to only happen with ones that arent daily? i literally had to start putting important stuff on a separate app which is completely counterintuitive. doesnt seem like much bug fixing happens when updates are pushed out, BUT as far as keeping me on track and reminding me of daily stuff it does a pretty good job. dopamine factory

Not bad, but it requires Internet for even basic functionality, which causes lag that undermines functionality, also stops functionality entirely. it would be much better if the app ran from your phone, and pushed data to the server, rather than running entirely off the server. Also, a lot of functionality locked behind a paywall, which feels like it undermines the point. I want to unlock things by completing tasks, not by paying for it - isn't that the point?

I've been using this app for years at this point. Great way to keep track of daily tasks, habits, and to do lists with the added bonus of gamifying it! The gaming aspect of it could be better but I also only have the free version. Plus, if it was too distracting it would become a hinderance to my productivity! Which, I think, would be counterproductive to the apps purpose. 5 Stars!

I have had Habitica on and off for maybe 4 years now and have overall enjoyed the experience! I got quite attached to my little player at least to the point where I would do tasks to make sure they didn't die. It sucked they got rid of guilds because some good challenges came from them. whoever designs the armor is the best! I have fallen off a few times but come back more!

I love the concept of this app. It has helped me create new habits and stick to em. The only issue that has being a turn down for me is the reminders. Reminders DO NOT work on this all. I forget what I have to do, so i depend a lot in reminders. This glitch with the notifications has being very annoying. So i decided to start using Google Tasks for my reminders. Update: I receive notifications from dailies, but not for To Do's. I checked if the app was in "deep sleep" on settings but it wasnt.

Honestly, this app is amazing. I was struggling to keep track of tasks and stay motivated in doing online courses, but I've been doing great since picking up Habitica. I strongly recommend for anyone struggling to remember or find reasons to do something consistently. Levelling up my character, doing quests, and finding items is so incredibly satisfying, and the whole app is free! It has a subscription model, but it's for unlocking cosmetic items only and doesn't change core gameplay. 10/10!!

Overall the app has been pretty decent. I found a great party to remain part of for quite a while. It's super easy to add tasks, rearrange them, check them off, and continue on. My biggest issue is that lately the app keeps losing server connection CONSTANTLY. And dragging down to refresh isn't reconnecting it like it used to. Now I always have to completely close the app, and even then, majority of the time it won't connect to the server again. This REALLY needs to be fixed guys, please.

I've been using this app for three years now. It's the only tool I've found that makes habit tracking and checking things off my to-do list engaging rather than just making the process of keeping track of my life feel like a chore. Parties are great for keeping everyone accountable, including yourself. I don't really do the challenges but they're definitely smart way to keep your journey more engaging. The only issue I have is that sometimes the equipment I buy doesn't show up in my inventory.

I love the organization & motivation this app provides, the first week I've had it has gone great! I'm only giving three stars because after one week my notifications for the app have stopped working. I did not change any notification settings, nor is my phone in battery saver mode. Hoping this gets fixed soon but doubtful because on reddit some folks have had this problem for over a year.

App is very fun and addictive, but crashes so much and is very buggy with sync errors constantly on Android, every time I use the app. Edit: Thank you for the suggestion Habitica team. Unfortunately, updating the app doesn't fix it. I've had issues with sync for as long as I've used the app. My partner also has these problems on iPhone. We click something in app like checking a completed task or opening the armoire, and nothing will happen until we refresh. Other apps work fine, WiFi good

I enjoy it so far. One of the things I'd change would so Habits could have reminders. And maybe a better tutorial for how to use Parties.. * I probably should of clarified a while ago.. The thing I would change for Tasks in the Habit category to have reminders. Dailies have reminders and ToDos But not tasks in the Habit category. But I still enjoy it, I have hit my 3-month anniversary of using the app ^ ^ It's really helped me and my roommate stay on task

It's a lot of fun and useful for me since I am pretty forgetful. I found a bug where if you go into avatar customization, tap on either the animal ears section or the animal tails section and tap on any item, it crashes the game. This does not happen to anything else(I've tested it)

Amazing app/game that has actually been helping me out a lot, it's quite nice to know creating good habits gives you small boosts to your arsenal or in-game "bank" (coinage). A feature I think would be pretty cool is some kind of way to pay coins for a chance to win more coins in skill-based mini games like Pachinko or something. Not needed or realistic in my eyes but it'd be cool :) Thank you for supporting this app so much!

This app helped me start turning my life back around. I was neglecting basic self-care, but making a game of it made it fun to get back into the habit of regular meals, showers, and even remembering to brush my hair to keep the tangles out. I know making it a game may not work for everyone, but it worked for me. it has options to set habits for any daily increments you choose, though nothing smaller than one day, but ultimately it turned out extremely helpful.

I've really enjoyed this app, as I've been using it for half a year now. Only downside is you do eventually run out of things to work towards unless you pay for a subscription. I've reached the point where there's no new quests to do, no more stat points to earn, and no new pets to unlock (without a subscription). Because of this it has started to lose my interest.
