Guitar Tabs X is a powerful song-writing tool for me as a guitarist, and even my guitar-playing has improved because of this app. It allows me to hear the guitar parts i'm writing before I learn how to play them, so it provides a new unique perspective to my songwriting. Its very easy to use the interface and the app performs very well.

It's an alright app. It lets you get an idea of what you're trying to write, and the playback is a nice feature. It doesn't have alot of what you need to write good tabs though. It's only got one tone, it won't let you write anything longer than a quarter note, and it doesn't play dead notes. It's just so so... The app developer has a long way to go before it's anything more than just something to play around with.

I loved this app, and it help a lot when I was tabbing music. I used it even thought it's tone was off and you could play chords on it. I dealt with that, but until recently I've been given warning and blocks staying I can only have 5 SONGS?!?! This is bs. The only reason I'm keep this app for this time being is to find a new app that works a lot better and has no tab limit.

Can't access the server to find my old songs. I really enjoy the app and I've been able to transcribe and tweak my songs while using the app. It's easy to use and the server has alot of songs for you to see what the app can do. I just can't get acces to the server anymore. It keeps giving me net::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED

Gives you options for odd meters, straightforward grid approach to setting up 16th notes or even sextuplets plus more, gives you tone options with Distortion or regular for either bass or guitar and gives you multiple choices for what tunings you want for guitar. I've been able to write a lot of ideas on the Fly that I'm super grateful for.

Gets the job done. Best and only free interactive tab writer I've found that's useable and has NO ADs!!! Simple basic tabs with a few technical features like: palm mute, bend/dive (1/2 or full) or vibrato~, slide, tripplets etc. Multi track tabing for lead, rhythm, & bass would be a nice addition. Ability to sync tabs across devices & directly share with others ex. Band/jam mates. Record audio samples for reference or when no time to tab out a riff or entire song please

First app review I've ever written I think and very happy for this to be the one. Very little i would change and gives me the ability to expand on song and riff ideas without being anywhere near an instrument. Only grievances I've had in my first week is wishing there were more tunings or string options (7 or 8 strings) and being able to change tempo in the middle of a measure or between measures. To be fair, I could just be missing the second of those two features as I'm still new.

This app is wonderful! Simple and easy to use, and really useful! Great for learning and writing songs, especially if you are somewhere without access to your guitar and don't have great audiation skills. The way the rhythm is organized is intuitive and works very well, and with a little bit of clever work can be used to write in polyrhythms. Theres a couple features that could be added, but otherwise an excellent tool. I highly reccomend it!

It's actually a very intuitive layout and has nice playback. However, there are important elements missing: no capo option, no ability to denote finger positions, no options for chords above the tabs, no sound bank, and no option for multiple voices (like for a duet or isolating the bass line). It's a nice app to quickly get a rough draft tab together of more simple songs, but definitely not complex ones that require notations. Fix the app and I'll definitely give a better rating!

It's ok for the bare minimum. Because I was in a pinch I paid for the full version, and it does ok, but the functionality is limited. You can't create custom tunings (though it does come with presets), you can't indicate strums, you can't use more complex musical notation, and it costs more than it's worth, imo. I would've just used Musescore if I had the time, and that's free.

I love the app, but had to uninstall. In the last couple months I have become concerned that the app may be defective , damaged, or even harmful. There was a Tab file in the app that started replicating itself throughout my phone's storage. Each time with a new name. I found folders with literally hundreds of the same file. And after deleting, they came back. The only way to remove them permanently was to uninstall the app. I am not saying the app has a virus. I just wanted to inform others.

I really, reeeaally like this app! It's great when you have to jot down ideas fast! Plus, it's always fun - to use, and to hear your ideas play back. It's very far from perfect (MAYBE ITS BECAUSE IT'S FOR TABLATURE), but I'd buy a premium version of it, if they would ever make it as perfect as other music notation applications using traditional staves and notes, etc. It used to allow access to the internet but it won't connect for me anymore. It's still fun software BUT THE INTERNET'S necessary.

Reasonably flexible, and makes a nice, readable print. Saving to pdf makes sharing easy. I docked it two stars, however, because I've found it a little limited for fingerstyle tabs. The rhythm is straight linear, and only one track. I'd like to have separate rhythm tracks for thumb and fingers for better clarity. That's one star. The second star I docked is because I'd like to have functionality that accommodates alternate tunings. I don't see a way to get out of standard with this.

It's a really good app for editing tabs and creating, but it could use some features. The distortion effect could have some preferences for sound, since the palm mute notes sound very similar to regular notes. Sliding, hammer ons, and pull offs would be nice too, since most of the time the notes have a strum sound. All in all, really cool app and would buy these new features if added.

Where's the dotted quarter notes and dotted half notes? Whole notes? Half notes? It's a great concept, and I paid for the full version for a year, and would subscribe again if it had more note options and a more user friendly interface. It's not bad at all, but I'm currently a teacher needing to make a tab with whole notes, half notes, dotted quarter and dotted half notes, and it's not possible in this app, which is just silly, those are fundamental and basic necessities in music. Problematic.

I had to drop my review from 5 stars to 1 because the app stopped reading my tab files when I switched phones. I messaged the developer and haven't received a reply yet. When I get a reply I will definitely raise my rating, especially if they have a fix for my issue. Maybe one of you can help me in the meantime. I had Guitar Tabs X installed on my previous phone. I saved the files for each of my tabs on an SD card when I got a new phone so I would not lose them. I installed the app on my new phone with said SD card mounted. For some reason, the app is not finding or reading them. Any relevant input from would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

This is a great app for what it is. I wish it had customizable tunings and strings. I play 7 string in AEADGBE and they only have drop A for 6 string which is AEADF#B which is very restrictive for tabbing out my music. Also, it would be nice if I could use landscape mode in the app as well. Other than that this app is a great tool for a guitarist who writes original music

I've been searching for a tab creator as great as this. I love being able to make a tab and listen to it wherever I go, and being able to save it as an actual file in my phone. Pro is a great deal too, 4 dollars per year, or 8 dollars for a lifetime. The only things I would like to see added is sound for dead notes, and an option for hammer ons and pull offs.

Really enjoy the app. I use it on my phone for on the go notation at a moments notice. The only problem I seem to have is I can't seem to change the tempo mid piece so high tempo passages playback at the established tempo from top making notation of certain styles and pieces unmanagable. Is this something unlocked by premium? Other apps solve this problem but their inerfaces are clumsy awkward and lacking in other functionalities.

Pretty good tab maker all around. I've been writing down riffs and ideas in it for several months now. I've got just a few problems with it. First, there's no way to make any notes longer than a quarter note without ties, which is frankly embarrassing for a music tool. Also, there's no pinch harmonics of any sort. I've resorted to using vibrato marker to symbolise them, when it really ought to be a separate thing.
