Awesome rpg with a fun story and combat. Plenty of ways to play and improve not only your characterbut the world around them. The game definitely needs some help with optimization, combat is slow and unresponsive so often that the action feels like the slowest part of the game. It's also very hard to use skills and spells sometimes. Great game and great ideas in general however

I love this game. It's simple and I could see myself playing it for hours. I just have one problem. I don't like the fact that if you have two of the same items (example two gunpowder) they don't automatically go side by side so if you're looking for any 2 of something you might have 1 at the top of the inventory and the other one allllll the way at the bottom. I whould like it if multiples of items were grouped together by default.

This is a fantastic little text-based (with some images for atmosphere) game to play for quick little dungeon runs. There is some surprising depth to the lore too. Playing for free is doable with very few ads. My one complaint is that often I will almost clear a level & get over my head at like the last square and then if I retreat suddenly every path to the exit is blocked with hard enemies & I have no chance. I'm fine with hard but this seems to do nothing more than discourage exploration.

Fun text-based dungeon crawler. Very simple graphics, but most of the content is reading. So if you don't read the tutorial or understand how good you are with these types of games, you're not going to enjoy it. But, if you like dungon crawlers and you enjoy the difficulty, you're gonna enjoy this game. I turned everything to the most difficult option (but left off perma death), and I've been having a blast. 100% would recommend to dungeon crawling fans.

Moody, atmospheric, and surprisingly well-written text adventure game with minimalistic yet stylish artwork to go with it. The dungeon crawling is a bit more punishing than I first expected, especially since I didn't realize you don't start with any weapons or armor. It gets a tad easier if you can push through the first couple floors. I am, however, still early enough in the game that this could all change. Still a solid experience I recommend trying.

This is actually a great game. Ads and purchase are all optional, none required. It runs good, graphics and gameplay are good. You can play endlessly, there's no "play for five minutes, wait for two hours" kind of garbage. My only issue is that there isn't much variety and it does get a bit repetative, but its a minor complaint and the game is still pretty fun.

AMAZING game, the ads are minimal and took me over an hour just to realize they were there due to such optimized placement for quality of life, gameplay is great, though a little slow levels 2-5 after it picks back up, lots of lore to read but not required for those who just want gameplay, only experienced one crash in several hours and it was at fault of an ad, great art style and lots of customization for combat and difficulty, only thing Id change is specify what the enemies are at the start

Ok, this is exactly what I was wanting. No fancy graphics, nice pictures for the backgrounds, simple and straightforward game play. I wish there were more reliably health potions available, but there's ways to manage. Yes it's a grind sometimes, and it can be a bit repetitive, but there's enough lore stuff mixed into the grinding levels to keep it interesting for sure.

A solid and addictive classic fantasy RPG. Good build diversity, great background artwork and writing, simple and elegant presentation & interface. Can get grindy though, and I regret a little bit buying one of the supporter packs ... only because it's made parts of the adventure too easy. No regrets on supporting the dev of this fun game!

Absolutely love this game! It's turn based old school Nintendo type roll playing game style is classically amazing! Get the gear, destroy the enemy, and be the town hero! Grind dungeon after dungeon, pass levels and build your stats. Crafting of items makes it interesting. This is designed to be the way games used to be. Without historical games similar to this the great modern RPG & MMORPG would not exist. Like walking back in time to enjoy the classics. Offline compatible a huge plus!

Enjoy the game but.... What happened to the advanced setting menu that allows me to edit map size and frequency of encounters?edit: Yes I found it it turns out I had to start a new game and go from there, I kept looking at normal options with my current game trying to figure it out and it wasn't working lol. Thanks for an awesome game I have been enjoying it for years.

There's a lot to like about the game itself, but its monetization is obnoxious: To get your allowance, you have to open a full-screen video ad that cannot be closed even after watching the required 30 seconds. If you don't open it, the program force-opens it when you enter a dungeon. The ad is often for the scammy Sweat Walker app, which claims to give you free money for just walking (an obvious scam). The only workaround is to force-close and reopen the app, which gets old fast.

There's a balance when it comes to ads, where the developer can get paid and the player can still enjoy the game. This game falls far on the abusive side of that balance. It's especially bad because the dark, contemplative tone of the game directly clashes with the loud, candy-colored cartoon ads. Game is a pretty fun time sink with a lot of lore and strategy, but I'm just about done putting up with the ads after three days.

Haven't gotten that far, will edit this when I get much more time to do so, so far, it feels like a D&D game, I don't have that much time to get good progress on D&D so when I don't have time for it, I can always play this. When you get the hang of it, it's much easier to play, to people who are new to this game, SPELLS AREN'T THE ONLY WAY TO DO DAMAGE. you can also tap and swipe side to side, tap is focused and swiping hits 2 enemies, but it won't have as much damage as the tap. Not a clicker.

Totally cures the D&D urges when you can't get the gang together! Very well-written and tons of fun. Great battle style for calm game play when set on low difficulty with plenty of a challenge when you turn up the juice! Only adds I've seen are from collecting bonus gold when returning to town from a dungeon run, totally optional. Nothing but love for this experience

if youve been looking for a well-designed RPG that doesnt feel like you're being scammed into watching endless ads or buying "boosts" just to make progress, you've found it. one of the most enjoyable free to play games ive found. strongly considering buying the no ads package, not because the ads are intrusive, but just because the developer deserves it

Great SIMPLE game. I would never say that I am a gamer but I am a loyal player. I have re-downloaded this game time and time again and across various phones because it's just so easy and fun to play. The mechanics are easy enough to pick up on, the aesthetic appealing, and the story is really interesting! I have restarted this game not because I felt like I had to but because I was having so much fun. If you want an easy reintroduction to gaming and RPGs, I cannot recommend Grim Quest enough.

I like it. Old school game style. However once an ad pops up you have to close down the game. You cant return to the game after the ads appear. Also watching an ad for gold isnt bad. But the forced ads in dungeon is a lil annoying. But that's how they make there money ig. Other then forcing me to close and reopen with every ad not bad. Only suggestion would be to have more areas to explore right now it you have to explore 1 area like 20 times over and over before you can move on. Becomes dull.

Exactly what it says on the tin. Minimal additions to a straight text interface (buttons and a variable-size square grid) enable an interesting story to be told without any use of a keyboard and without the development distraction of animation or rendering. (We don't need no stinkin' graphics!) The download is tiny, too.

It's a fun game to waste time on. I like the spells and skills, but I think they could use more variety. Some summoning skills would be cool. Maybe adding a "Class" system, but not in the traditional sense? I'm not sure how someone would go about that, but the main thing that's missing is variety. It's a simple game and that's what makes it great, but it doesn't feel finished. Better visual effects would be a nice upgrade, too.
