★★★★★ Great app!
I've been using this app for a few years now and have never had a problem with it. The accuracy compared with a range finder is spot on. I've played 27 holes using this and still had plenty of battery power left. Great app!

My experience with the app started extremely positively as it was able to provide distances to the green as well as keeping score and providing a handicap after enough rounds were completed. However the GPS function has stopped working entirely for me, even after reinstalling the app it would give wildly inaccurate distances to the hole (saying I was 800 yards from the green on a 160 yard hole). I regret subscribing to the plus version of the app as it's been a waste of money for what I wanted.

I love this app! I've tried several different golf GPS apps and none stand up to Golf Pad. The integration and features available on a watch device are the best I've found. The ability to track your entire round from your watch without carrying your phone outside the cart is a big deal to me. I wanted the freedom of having everything right there on the watch and Golf Pad gave me that. I would like to see some better statistic graphics and a little better map screen, but overall, I'm overjoyed.

I've been using the app for years, and the premium version for the last year. It has all of the features that one could want, but also has issues that aren't really addressed. The TAGS sold separately do not really work that well with the app. Security settings do not stay set which requires a LOT of fumbling with during a round. The TAGS have to be held in an awkward position for a few seconds to register, which is MUCH slower than just selecting the club manually in the app. The handicap calculator makes mistakes and the developers can't explain why. It's very difficult to even find the rounds being used (and not even possible on the website), but when manually averaging the best 8 differentials from the last 20 rounds, I get a different number than the app calculates. When I brought this to their attention, I was told that 'handicaps are confusing" and brushed off. Could be great if fundamental flaws were addressed. No other app is perfect either, so I'll probably keep using this one.

Updated review. Corrected past issue with Bluetooth speaker. Have used this app since 2017 and outside of that one issue, this app has been great. Distances are accurate when compared with range finder, give or take a couple of yards. Outstanding value for price. Recently tried the Play with GPS function that came with GHIN app and while the green heat maps are a nice touch, the extra costs not worth it given all the features you get with GolfPad.

I've been a long time user of the app and tags, and absolutely loved the simplicity, ease of use, and fantastic stat keeping. However, this latest update has been a huge disappointment. Correcting club selection and shots on a hole by hole basis is utterly frustrating. And when keeping score for multiple users, the app display is too bloated and requires way too many swipes just to input scores per player. In the grand scheme of things, these issues aren't huge, but it greatly impacts ease of use, and you end up spending way too much time fiddling with the app during a round, instead of being able to concentrate on your game.

Been using this app for several years, and it is the best I've seen. I have a Samsung S21 Ultra phone, linked to a Samsung 3 watch. I prefer to use the watch, so that checking yardage is super simple. The phone has more features (hole fly-over, map of hazards, etc) but I rarely need or want that. It is nice to see the "effective distance" taking into account wind, temperature and elevation factors. Plus I can keep my score right in the app.

I've been using golfpad with my golfing friends for about 5 yrs and thought it was great. We used the group round and could add other golfers and see their round stats as we go. However the new feature "leaderboard" has proven to be useless. It is not as simple to add people, and after the round you cannot see scores and statistics for comparison. Basically what I'm saying is the old group round feature was so much better, please restore it. It's making me think of a different app to download.

I use this with a Note 8 and Gear S3 Watch. For the most part it works. However on occasion the tag becomes disassociated with the club, sometimes in the middle of the round. Requires me to go back and edit. Getting used to tagging was the hardest part for me. Some courses that are 9 holes, it will move between the front and the back, again causing me to have to go in and edit the round. I like the club recommendation on my watch, and becoming reliant on it. Sometimes forget what my distances are for my clubs (sucks if watch or phone dies) . A few of the tags broke, and they sent replacements (within first 90 days), now i have taken to just adding a few drops of superglue to the tag. I also wish there was a little more information on the watch besides yardage, like maybe distances to hazards, bunkers ect.

The app on the phone works great. It's nice to be able to tap to see distance to bends or hazards. However, the companion app for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will only let me track shots/putts for about 3 holes before it freezes, even when the phone is in my pocket. When I update my shots on the phone, sometimes the app reconnects and sometimes it doesn't. If the watch app worked consistently it would be 5/5.

Great app. I would encourage that anyone with a 20+ handicap refrain from using the shot tracking feature, the benefits will be minimal. Do use the map to show how far you need to hit it to carry that pond or layup on #6 and then be smart and layup, works great for that. It would be great if it would send a reminder to "Fix your ballmarks" when your GPS location was within 10 yards of the green, and you could not turn off this feature in the free app. Fore!!!!

Got the premium upgrade to synch with my Samsung Gear S2 watch. Started the round, on my second shot I looked at my watch for distance and all it said was No GPS. So I had to look on my phone. I soon discovered the distance only shows on the watch when I'd wake up the phone, which defeats the purpose of the smartwatch synch. I did not have this problem with the free golf navi app for gear, so it is design flaw. Update: After playing around with multiple fixes ended up having to pin the app.

I finally had to uninstall this app. After many years, buying the tags and using it for so long, it doesn't play well with my phone since it needs to be always on top and locked, which creates an incompatibility with the security on my phone. So I'd have to remove my security, and then after the round, redo everything including scanning my fingerprints. Maybe I'll be back if I find other methods way more inconvenient. Great app though. Highly recommended

I've been using Golf Pad for a few years now. The customer service is the reason I added an additional star. I usually receive quick responses as well as course mapping within 48 hours. The only downside is the calculation used to get the actual distance to the green. i.e, 145 yds to the hole, wind blowing against me at 20 mph and it shows that the real distance is now 140 yds.. The initial distance is very accurate, not so much the elevation, temperature, and wind factor.

The app is ok. It's solid for the most part. Good information. Ok UI. The real issue for me is the scoring on the watch. You have to hit a button for every single shot. It used to be you put in the score at the end. Put in total, putts, and penalties. Now it's way less convenient. You either teach each shot as you go or you stand there on the green at the end hitting "track" then "shot" or "putt". It's just cumbersome. Go back to the old way please. Edit: shot tracking is off

I have used Golf Pad for over 5 yrs and have loved it. I actually have a lifetime premium subscription. I recently bought a Wear 6 smartwatch and I've been quite frustrated with how the watch doesn't sync distances at the same rate as my phone does during the round and I have to keep opening the app on my watch. I've tried to use the watch at least 4 rounds and I may get a distance on the tee box maybe 5 of the 18 holes and once I leave the tee box, I can only count my strokes. Watch needs work

Went from best to worst!!! Used it all the time and my 3 different courses and this last time it constantly froze up. Wouldn't do anything. Back at the house now and still trying to add my scores. Absolute junk!!! Uninstalling!!! Update- Tried again with new update and still freezes up. All other apps work fine. Uninstalling again!!!

Could be the worst app I've ever used. You have to pay to use it on a watch, but the user interface is so bad that it's basically unusable. There is no button to indicate you finished a hole. Hit "track" and you get a timer to decide if you're putting or shooting, scroll down for putt out, then enter your score even after hitting multiple buttons every time you're taking a shot. Finish 18 holes? I have yet to find a way to end the round. I'm sure it's buried in a menu somewhere, but why?

For a fraction of the price this rivals arrcos and is better than all the other golf apps out there. I tried and uninstalled(18 birdies, golf shot, golf logic, ECT) Live round sharing is awesome and tags for you clubs are 100% worth it. A social feature would be nice, a easy way to use the camera without unpinning the app, and different social games during a round would be incredible features to add. The grint is the next best app out there btw.

It appears that a number of negative reviewers haven't taken the time to figure out how to use it! On a watch I'm sure it is different but on a phone it works really well. I track shots on most holes to get stats for my clubs but it is easy to just put in the score for the hole without tracking. Great for stats and particularly to know yardage and distance to places you want to land. Easy to change between map and image. Takes a little time to learn but great app!

Outstanding customer service. But the app itself is amazing. Tracks each clubs distances. Recommends you a club based on your averages. Takes into account wind speeds and directions, plays like distances. Gives you accurate distances to front, middle, and back of greens along with any relevant OBs or hazards. Fantastic app. The watch app is really good as well. Very easy to use.
