Update: the guy reached out to me the 4.99 allows you to upload to Dropbox or Google drive the could is a subscription at 20 something a month! You have to turn on the ability to use Dropbox. So that's what I did appreciate the guy reaching out it's a good app but I'm not going to pay for ANOTHER cloud. Don't pay... Can't remember you did! I paid for an upgrade and it never seems to find my email address. That's not good!

I use Genius Scan almost every day. It is my only go-to app to convert any document to a PDF by scanning one page or many. It scans documents of almost every size even receipts. You can crop them to size, as well. There are filters such as B&W, color or photo and a flash feature to illuminate the pages in low light. I'm able to use Genius Scan to attach scanned items to emails and the documents are savable in Cloud. Files are sortable by date or title. Thank you, I really value Genius Scan!

It works great! It scans everything in full color, and you can share it over social media. It doesn't pick up most erased marks, so you can make plenty of changes without it being too noticeable. The main problem, however, is that lighting can render your scanning to be unreadable. This is an easy fix, though, and is largely inevitable. It serves it job perfectly, aside from that.

So close to being the perfect replacement for my old Chinese scanner app! Unfortunately, the "Magic mode" is just too obnoxious. Give me control of the shutter, and do the edge detection on the resulting static image, and we'll both be happy! I can interrupt the magic by tapping the shutter button, but then it doesn't even attempt an automatic crop. The help docs refer to a button in the top right to switch back to manual mode, but that must have been removed in version 5.

Incredibly useful tool! Love that the user interface design is easy to navigate, & includes just a handful of the right essential features, without overwhelming you with too many options. I could quickly take new pics (aka scans) of documents, add existing images & other files into PDFs/PDF portfolios & export. I was disappointed the only share option is via email with this free app version. Genius Scan+ is paid but has many more share/export options. App is simple, needing minimal instruction.

Perfect user experience. Impressed with the developer also, after reading their reasoning for offering this app without ads. I was a long time user of a popular lens from a majorsoft corporation, but the user experience had a major flaw. Switched to the current offering from the other big doogle, but it felt extremely invasive so I uninstalled immediately. Switched to this and found exactly what I was looking for. Will test a little longer. If it holds up, I'll buy Pro for Dropbox integration.

Greatest app ever for business and college students! Can send a fax or pdf in email without having to go home to my scanner/printer. I've been able to accomplish more things quicker. Specifically when they say "when you complete the doc and send it back we'll complete your paperwork". I dont need to stop everything and go home. I can do it right then and there. Love this app. I've recommended to all my college classmate and professors. And my professors have recommended it to other students.

Lifesaver for my online classes! I'm taking advanced differential equations with algebraic matrices, biochemistry, and engineering classes. I have to take massive amounts of photos and upload them daily and it used to take so long to get the perfect photo and then group them together into a pdf, now it is so easy! The best part is how good it makes it look. Before it was almost unable to be read. Now it looks great!

Does exactly what it says... and does it perfectly! I use this on a semi-daily basis and this thing scans everything that has 4 sides flawlessly, picking up details that I had to verify when I first started using it because I thought it could never get that. Great sharing and integration options... I can upload to Google Drive, email, etc. Filters after scanning do a great job for lighting / color issues. Can't recommend this enough, it is fantastic. Keep up the great work!

Outstanding!! I've used this app for a few years now & never once has it failed me. I use for very important doc scans back & forth via email as well as personal/casual use. Love too that its easy to store straight to my gallery. PDF or JPeg,,, I can't say enough good. Grab this app! Update: I just installed on my new phone and cannot login. So I'm worried all is lost. I cannot see where to ask for help, a customer support email would be helpful. I've upgraded in the past

When i first installed Genius Scan, I just figured it would just be a handy little app to have. i used it a few times and it lived up to expectations. However, I needed the additional features today, and upgraded to GS+ for a particular project. The app is great. It exported my 72 page scan to Dropbox without a problem. Well worth the cost to upgrade. Thanks guys.

This app got it right! Easy to scan. Easy to change a file name. Dump direct to needed folder not some default folder. Defaults to a chosen "format [e.g. bw, color, etc]. Simple layout. Minimal clicking. Maximum productivity. And on install notified free app was functional [no watermark]. Came over from a paid Camscanner license where they killed the functionality of the app and everything above became insanely cumbersome over time. Paid for "enterprise" very quickly. Awesome.

It works, but it's not for long-term use. I used this all through college for my hw, which now takes up lots of space. Before they switched to a subscription model, I paid the one-time price to upgrade my app (now "Plus"). Unfortunately I still have a backload of documents that I have to archive. This is too difficult with "Plus" functionality. If you get this app now, good luck. It's tough to use.

the current iteration of Genius scan includes some features from the previous iteration of Genius scan Plus. The problem is that the new iteration, in order to get the genius plus features that are not in original genius scan second iteration, require a subscription instead of being able to just pay once and have the features forever. This is a tactical failure. Some, like me, are able to pay a one-time fee to gain access to premium features where the concept of a subscription is impossible.

This is the app, hands down. If you are looking for a free scanner just for scanning, none compare. The scans are clean, without watermarks, and it is quite easy to figure out. The cut-outs are also super precise. AND NO ADS. this app is amazing, and I'd highly recommend you just download this one and forget about downloading others.

Pretty good document scanner. It gets the job done without obnoxious ads or pay walls. However, the layout is not very intuitive. During my first time using this app, I had a lot of trouble figuring out where buttons were located for things like saving files and deleting pages. Once you get used to it though, it works great. There are some minor bugs that happen, but I got used to them. Great app, but it needs some work.

Added April 29, 2024 This is a wonderful app!!! Most cannot discern you did not use a desktop scanner. ****** I've used it for a few pages at a time. Easy to email documents out. Added July 27, 2021 it has been a great app over the years. I had a little problem and customer service was very quick, responsive and solved the problem. Added 4-19-24 This has been a wonderful app easy to scan and email as if you ran it through a regular scanner. 5+ stars

I'm new, but the image/text capture and reshaping of my extremely wrinkled receipt is impressive. However, it seems the app lacks options for fine tuning that seem necessary. When switching to a black and white image, the contrast and brightness make the image completely illegible with no option to adjust. I'm not sure that the app actually has any text recognition capability to allow for enhanced readability, but like I said -I'm just starting out, so maybe I've missed something. Will update.

Scan very rapidly. I live that it's easier to scan than my previous scanner because of less required adjustments. it seems to auto-adjust and quality is great. The only caveat is it's not the most user friendly in terms of sending the document. I kept asking myself well where is the option to share. BUT to be fair this is my first time using the app and I may upgrade the rating to 5-star once I figure that part out.

This app is PERFECT. Scan your handwriting, art, anecdotes, or anything on a page. Immediately, it becomes a digital photo. If you don't have access to a printer/copier, and need to quickly get your handwritten work online in order to turn it in, this is the app to do it! I've used it plenty of times since it was introduced to me in college. I wish I had found it sooner!
