Horrible app. Beware of the Drive Easy program if you live in a city and park at garages. If the GPS can't reach you the app will go crazy and subtract points for acceleration, sudden stops, even if you're just pulling out of your garage at 2 mph. Live in a city and need to constantly stop at red lights? Points will be subtracted as well as you should prefer highways, although you live in a city and have no choice. Total scam to increase your policy.

By far the most frustrating app I've used in a while. It never keeps me logged in and forces me to change my password everytime I need to log in and then is never able to process my password change and locks me out so I can't log in again. I haven't been able to use the app for MONTHS!!!!! I'm so done with this app. And customer service is no help either. Less than useless. Seriously. For something as important as insurance, it's impossible to use.

This app does a terrible job of accurately tracking driving. It constantly thinks I drove when I was actually walking. If Google Maps is running while driving, it reports that as phone usage for the entire drive, even when I never touch the screen or interact with the phone. It often cannot identify when I stop driving, so when I get out of the car and check my phone, it reports it as phone usage. The app thought I was in a car crash when my plane landed.

Hard braking and smoothnes would need to consider the routes you take, if you go to work and you only have 1 road, it doesn't make sense the app suggests to look for highways or other routes to keep a cruise speed. I noticed that it was improved the usage of maps/Waze and phone calls in this version, because sometimes this app was making unaccessible the use of the phone at all even with only those apps running. So keep it up!

The Drive Easy feature is too unreliable to be in charge of determining whether someone is a good driver. I'd rather opt into a 24/7 dash cam. Urban traffic is stop and go. This app effectively punishes you for having good reflexes. I can deal with that. But now the app has started randomly claiming that I use my phone while driving when I'm not.

The amount of times I need to fix your apps incorrect readings of me driving is ridiculous. This is exactly why I hate insurance companies that want to use this program. It's completely inaccurate. I'm never on my phone while driving. Your app is killing my phone performance! I'm not driving, shut off!! You don't need 24 hour permission to my location!

This app is complete garbage. You have to use it for their drive easy to get your good driving discount. But this app makes false reports all the time. If you're using a phone holder and using your navigation, the app says you're making a phone call while driving and you get dinged. If I drop my phone the app starts recording a trip and then says you're hard braking because the phone stopped super fast when it hits the floor. It seems like this app is designed to give you bad reports on purpose.

This app is ALWAYS running. Have to continually go turn it off cause it drains my battery. Then it turns itself back on all the time. It should only come on when driving. Also the easy drive is crazy inaccurate. If you use maps, it says you're on your phone; you use your phone before you leave, it says you used it at the beggining of your drive; you pull over to take a call/text, it says you used it. And it says I cannot maintain a constant speed cause I live in the middle of the city.

The fact that this app has more than 2 stars astounds me. The battery usage is unacceptable and having to manually log every time I'm not driving as a passenger is frustrating and annoying. About 80% of the time I'm a passenger and don't want to have to update the carpools I take every day. Driveeasy is the most unintuitive, afterthought of a system that is NOT easy. If given the choice for a sensor for my car and this, I would OVERWHELMINGLY CHOOSE THAT

Absolutely HATE this app! The driving tracker is the worst! I can't use my phone in the driveway, or EVEN PULL OVER to the side of the road without having points taken off of my breakdown total. Do NOT use this app if you use your phone for a map 🤨 or for music! It's ridiculous!!! Funny how it takes off points for making a call, when it takes more time and less attention to the road to use the hands free option. So dumb!!

I was unable to get roadside assistance because the app wouldn't work. It said unable to complete your request or simply "loading". I was not in a remote area but a parking lot. Luckily it was not a life threatening situation because I could've walked to shelter/water. A week later, at a different location, the app again failed when I tried to add a vehicle. It kept throwing me out and I had to start over. Finally I called and got things handled that way. App is an unreliable waste of time.

I have changed my password 3 times but it doesn't verify that you have done so, it just gives you a login error notification. I log in finally after bouncing back and forth between email verification, text verification, and the app, log in with 2-step verification, then the app asks me if I want to disable the 2-step verification, I say no, it brings me back to the login screen. 🤦♂️

Be wary! The drive easy part is not well done and has very poor sensors. "Phone handling" just for using maps is very frustrating seeing as I often have my maps active to keep track of traffic. It also docks points if I use my Bluetooth to stream audio. Both should not count against the score, but both do. Also, had a few times where it thought I was driving but I was just walking. Geico itself is fine but this app NEEDS WORK!

DriveEasy is a very disappointing app. I get hard breaking slip-ups while walking to a store and sometimes even inside the store. Obviously, the app can't distinguish between driving and walking after the vehicle is parked. This makes me question all data recorded by the app. The second issue is that nobody wants to constantly change their role driver vs. passenger. Overall, it's not a good idea to use the phone as a monitoring device. I prefer a separate tag.

The Geico Mobile app is a mess. As a driver with a clean record for over 20 years, I used to get a good driver discount. Now, if I don't use this app, no discount. I was traveling overseas and Geico cancelled my discount. If they can't connect to your phone, they assume you must have shut the app to avoid monitoring. Since I returned, it hasn't worked - no trips logged, no score in 2 months. Customer service is useless - defends the app no matter how poorly it functions. Tired of the hassle.

Absurd flaw with the DriveEasy feature. Using Google Maps automated voice assistance, the DriveEasy feature gives me a "thumbs down" penalty every time the Map assistant announces where to turn, claiming I am a "distracted driver." However, my phone is in its cradle, just giving me directions. One of my last trips DriveEasy gave me a thumbs down FOUR times for "Phone Handling" every time Google Maps told me to turn. This is an unfair penalty when I am absolutely NOT touching my phone.

Update to add: Only Apple Pay works as a payment option on mobile. Checkout user experience on Android is still clunky. My only issue is with checking out, it's a one-button process. It'd be nice if there was a 'checkout' screen before the payment being automatically confirmed on the saved card. Other than that, easy access to information.

Great insurance. As far as the app is concerned, it's great now. I had a hiccup a year ago during a different update where I couldn't get it to accept my payment so I tried multiple times, resulting in all hitting my bank. I got charged fees 2 x by both neither of them cut me a break costing $80+ in fees. If the app seems like it didn't take your payment only try once. Cuz they will all go through. Also, hybrids don't drive smoothly so they need to be considered when scoring. Breaks charge EV.

The app was fine for the last few years that I had geico, but the update broke it. A) it won't activate DriveEasy, though I've done it 4 times & each time it said it's successful; B) it's suddenly lowered my Drive Easy score from ~110 to 89 w 0 change to my Excellent scores, C) it no longer shows all of my account history, only the last 2 payments. If it's not fixed this week, I'm switching companies. It's also 3x more exp than when I 1st got it. Also no contact but virtual assistant.

I am complaining about the DriveEasy module. Starting in mid/end of May 2024, I started to get dinged for phone handling. I've noticed that I was dinged when I did not use my phone, but perhaps lost phone connectivity to the tower. This seems to be a bug. This bug has made me hyper-paranoid about getting dinged, but not about my driving. FIX THIS!!!
