I rated this one star on purpose so people that are having the notification issues can see this. You can NOT have your phone on silent. If you do it will halt notifications to your phone. Switch the phone to vibrate and change the function in the app to silence phone when weating watch. They must have made the ability to mute your watch through the phone sound for whatever stupid reason. Please spread this solution to other people so they can start enjoying the watch again!!!

While it does connect to my Samsung Gear S3 Frontier, and I do understand that Bluetooth drains Battery Life, but it drains the life fast! My battery used to last 2 days, at 100%, but now it only lasts 13 hours! I don't mean to sound needy, but if possible, please make it so if the watch and app drains less battery life. Thank you.

The Gear S3 is a pretty useless piece of junk. Add to that the terrible app that has to be installed on the phone. The watch tells the time, but little else you can really do with it. I can't even read text messages on the watch, it keeps telling me to set "messages" as the default messaging app. Already is, but I select ok, & nothing changes, it doesn't load my texts. Alarms set on the phone used to ring/vibrate on the watch and vice versa. Not anymore. Calendar duplicates national holidays.

Just got a Gear S3. When it is connected to my Pixel 3 via Bluetooth, my Google Assistant doesn't hear me, through the phone or the watch mic. I've been through all the settings I can find, on the watch and on my phone in all the apps. This is unacceptable. Wish I had known how Apple-like it would be before I spent over $300. Unfortunately, Apple and Samsung watches are the only ones compatible with the Inspyre seizure monitoring software. Shame on you, Samsung! Fix it!

BELOW IS MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. I changed it because I discovered that the instructions of installing the Gear S app should instead be "install the Samsung Wear app and use this plugin with it". Took me a while to figure this out, because there used to be a Gear S App. No longer. Sucks that it took a day to figure this out, but it's working again. -------- ORIGINAL REVIEW HERE ---- Just got a new Pixel 2 XL. The Gear App will install, but doesn't show up on my installed apps list, which means I can't open it. Right now, my watch is bricked, since I started to repair it with a phone and it won't do "watch" things until this step is completed. I may try completely resetting it. This used to work perfectly find on my Pixel XL. Very frustrating to not to be able to use it on a recent mainstream phone. Perhaps it's not Android 9 compatible. In any case, needs some real work.

Most recent update breaks basic features. After the update, no longer able to answer calls from my s3 frontier. -Randomly will disconnect from my LG V30 bluetooth being less than 1' away. Updates arrive much later than on my device. Final complaint is that it will vibrate when it connects to my device while on the charge cradle. If I get up and take my phone with me while my wife is in bed, it can be heard buzzing as it connects/disconmects as I move through our home.

Was working great. Then notifications stopped working. Did a reset, and reinstall and notifications are back. But can no longer login to my samsung account to restore my watch faces. When I click the login button the Gear S plugin stops working. I want my watchfaces back, the ones that comes with the watch sucks. Gear S2 on a Aermoo M1 phone.

Latest update is having an issue with connectivity where I have to constantly turn off the notifications access on my phone then turn it back on in order for it to work properly. But that only lasts an hour and then I have to do it all over again. Also, it is draining my watch more than usual. I'm not sure why is it running so much in the background. Please fix I'm on an One Plus 6t.

As other users are quick to point out, this app is draining the battery of my phone, the problem is that it requires permanent location access even when the app isn't running or it won't run at all. This is a very poorly designed app that is requiring users to always give them location access when it clearly doesn't need it. Change the app to allow access only when running and I'll change my review.

Doesn't work on Android 10/Q. Does not accept any user input, if I touch the screen when the app is running or if i don't do anything for about 10 seconds, app will crash. Also with a Bluetooth connecting a full charge on the watch will last at best six hours, used to be a couple days. Worthless app, therefore taking most value out of the watch for me. I know what brand my next watch won't be!

I've worn this watch since I purchased it 2 years ago. It's my daily motivation to get more steps. I love the samsung health app. Every month has a new challenge to get 200000 steps. I went from barely getting it, to killing it , almost 400000 plus a month. It keeps up with my weight, sleep, calories. I can text, call, listen to music. I've held my phone less this year, because I don't miss a call or text if I put it down. I've had zero issues with this watch and I'm sure it's a older version.

Watch says it's connected, this app won't allow my to click any kind of complete button or anything. The watch face just keeps saying "check your phone to complete setup" and it won't change. The app only gives me two options after I agree to the terms, and those two options are "Force Stop" Or "Turn off Bluetooth". What the hell?

I don't know if it's the full Gear app or the plugin for it keeps erasing my credit card data on an average of 3x's on a monthly on my Samsung Pay extension! It always seem to catch me off guard when I'm about to make a purchase using my Samsung Pay via Samsung Gear 2 watch that I've lost all my credit card info! It's really, really getting old re-entering my credit card info and going thru the verification process 3-4 times a month! And, it's not even during an update!

All was fine until a few months ago, around August-September. This app and the watch just don't work well anymore. I had a Samsung Note 5 and the watch wouldn't connect to it. When it did, the watch face would turn blank and nothing would work. When I switched to motoz3, the watch worked better than before but it doesn't show the right time. Seriously, what's the point if a watch doesn't show the right time??

If you don't have a Samsung phone - don't buy a Samsung watch. I was told that it would be fine because this app is good, but it isnt. syncing messages doesn't work - every time I walk away without my phone (the main reason for owning this watch) - every message from the post week or so gets resent to my watch. making this worse - every time the Gear app usb updated, it loses it's connection to my FS3 and I have to reset and reinstall.... very dissatisfied with this app and compatibility...

Horrible! The regular updates cause multiple issue with notifications and communication to the watch. Outlook notifications never works after an update, sometime for up to a week or more, regardless of how many times you reset and reinstall the apps. I have this watch for over a year, and these problems are continous. You would think they would be able to get this right - especially since Samsung is such a large company. Obvousily, the do not care about quallity or customer service.

A decent app most of the time. I would expect it to be much cleaner and smoother coming from a tech giant like Samsung. A5 least it gets the job done most of the time. However, my biggest problem is that when it updates, I get a notification access error. When I go in to fix it, then ALL my notifications go away for other apps. This is the fourth time this year! I have to manually restart my phone from scratch in order to get everything to work again.

PLEASE UPDATE THIS PLUGIN ALREADY. It's been MONTHS since I've been able to use my Gear S3 because of its incompatability with Android 10. Whenever I connect my watch, there's a constant file transfer that never finishes. This ends up draining my battery in 2 hours and leaves the watch vulnerable to an attack. Then when I try to adjust the settings, the app crashes. I can't even open the Galaxy Watch app.

It was working fine until the 5/30/19 update. I have an S2 and it no longer allows me to modify the apps which I got notifications for, it doesn't display info on the watch when it's connected (Battery/Storage/RAM), I can't change my watch face on the app, I can't manage, reorder, or uninstall anything. It's just a mess. I'm currently trying to find a way to rollback to a previous version. Update: I downloaded and installed a previous version of the Gear S plugin and it still does not work. I'm going to try an older version of the Wearable app now Update 2: Previous versions of the Wearable app and the Gear S plugin did not help. I'm running Android 9 on my Pixel. I guess my S2 and Gear Fit2 are now nothing more than expensive digital watches.

Like many others have said, the May 2019 update completely broke every "smart" feature of the watch. Completely useless. Now it's no more than a basic Fitbit, except that you have to charge it twice a day... That said, the Galaxy watch/gear apps have always been TERRIBLE. Awful, basically useless. Likewise the software written for the watches has also always been subpar at best. Much like the Galaxy phones, amazing hardware crippled by bloated and non-functional software.
