Used to be a very useful app but apparently they have changed their setting and now won't let you add or update prices unless you sign in. Used to be able to do it as a visitor now when I submit a price it won't register it. Prices are wrong and won't let me correct them????? Pretty much useless with all the wrong prices. I'll keep checking to see if you correct this and then I will change my rating!!!

You see: the app without the membership is great; However, when you commit to the subscription you're now subjected to a 50 gallon limit with a standard of .20 cents per gallon when you do the math that's exactly $10.00. Which in conclusion, leaves you where we started. Without you can actually save money on fill-ups, I will not subject myself to running for the deal and wasting even more to get to the deal.

They finally disabled the old version of the app that actually let you scroll around the map and see prices that aren't in your immediate area. I used this app for work to see if the price was going to be cheaper anywhere along my route as I drove, even if it meant driving a different route to get a cheaper price. But of course they have to force you to update and only see the stations that are around you and if you scroll too far away no stations show up. Their website does the same thing now.

The information provided is largely based on how many people are reporting in your area. For the most part, savings are decent but not substantial. The premium plan did not pay for itself in my usage. The one frustrating thing about the app is how it uses your notifications to advertise. You can disable this in notification settings, but we shouldn't have to.

It gave me all the info needed to find exactly what I was looking for and how to get there. Any other way would probably be time consuming. Update: Recently I have this very annoying ad that flashes like a blue, very fast strobe light at the bottom of my screen, I think it's a Amazon Prime ad. IT NEEDS TO GO AWAY..!!! or.., I may have to change my rating here. Just saying.

May 2024 update. I took away 2 stars because you can no longer manage you favorites like you want. I use to be able group my favorites in folders by location (i.e. near home, work, in DC, etc), now all favorites bundled together. Please bring back that option. Great app. The best thing about it is that you can add favorites for your different areas where you get gas.

Gas guru used to be my go to app. But recently, their price listings seem to always be 7 days or more old and inaccurate. They also show phantom stations. GasBuddy at least has up-to-date prices which is requirement #1. 2/2024 map interaction seems broken. I can no longer click a station on the map and get info. It just zooms in closer and closer and closer . Clicking on a station from the list no longer brings up station info with a Directions link. Time to search for another App 🙄

When viewing stations in list mode, and I tap on a station, the ability to navigate to the station is gone. When tapping on a station, the map opens, but it freezes and is useless. When are you going to fix this issue I first reported 4/9/24!? Everything was fine before the last two updates.

It used to be good in terms of easily locating gas stations by brand, however since the last update, cannot do it because brand icons removed and distance locator doesn't provide station locations that close to where you are. Doesn't provide me high score challenges that were fun and wipes consecutive days out even when I don't miss a day. Other Users of the App must be using Bots to get high scores. No way they are driving around to hundreds or thousands of gas stations updating prices.

For my purposes GasBuddy work well. I hate the ads but I can live with those. IF THINGS AREN'T BROKE DON'T TRY AND FIX THEM!!!! Since the last update in March 2024 this app has been totally 100% useless it says it crashed it burned it can't connect doesn't make any difference I've uninstalled it reinstalled it it keeps doing the same thing....

Used to love this app. However, the latest update doesn't work on my mobile phones. Only seems to work on my tablets or flip phone. Update has activate to the side instead of under. Only see map on typical phone. Was told would be fixed in 2-5 days. That was 1.5 weeks ago. Maybe we should all start sending in tickets about missed discounts. That might make them so busy reimbursing, and they will fix or at least go back to the way it was.

They Charge you 15$ if your Membership fee doesn't go into your bank. I've never heard of anyone charging a fee because the membership fee doesn't go into your bank. Others usually just take away your benefits. This app is out to get your money. Don't do it. It isn't worse it guys! It's a sad app. Always charging fees for everything! Go to upside app!

OK, what idiot made this app useless with the last update...clear cache, clear data, force stop, uninstall/reinstall....nothing worked to allow the map function to work & it no longer gives you details on whichever station you press on....never had an issue in all the years I've used it....the developers/programmers effectively bricked the darn app with this last update...no worries though Google Maps came to the rescue 🙄 Edit : it's running correctly for now, will move from 1 star to 3.

Used to be great but now it's completely unusable. First off I no longer can activate deal alerts. Tapping on a gas station only shows the location (somewhat). It won't redirect me to my navigation app anymore. Also the home screen has become extremely laggy due to all the ads. I also recommend to include the octane and not just the label (ie: 91 or 93 octanes vs premium). Please fix these issues as it is completely frustrating! I will update my review if the app becomes useful again.

Works very well, happy that the location tracking turns off instantly upon closing the app. One thing that doesn't make sense- it does not show the pricing for or acknowledge the existence of non-ethanol fuel. Many older vehicles, motorcycles, almost all boats and all small engines do better with non-ethanol; I don't understand why it doesn't display it when a gas station certainly has it.

I have been a member since 2017 and never had any issues. However, since the app has been updated, I noticed the page to activate the deals never loads correctly. When I tap on the deal I want, it will only bring up a map showing the gas station. The only way I can get the activate deal button to show is to switch tabs, then back to the find gas tab, then it loads. Please fix this bug. I did try reinstalling the app and still had the same issue.

Been using this for a long time and loved it, but recently it became severely dysfunctional just like many other reviews have stated where I can no longer click on stations and activate deals or navigate. Seems there's a workaround with switching tabs then going back but this bug has been present for some time and has completely stopped me from using the app until it's fixed.

Forget Gas Buddy app. Use to be a great app. Cannot sort, since fields are grayed out. After the app was updated sometime ago, my Favorites with multiple locations by name disappeared. Use to be able to create a favorite with a name & include gas station in the named favorite. Since I travel to different location far away, I like to know prices before traveling. If there's a way to create a favorite by name it would be helpful Frustrating they've taken that away. App keeps getting worst.

Can't even begin the list the things that are wrong with this app. It used to be good until about a year ago and when they had to mess things up that's when everything's went bad. It takes forever for it to open and then everything just hangs and then there are times when it just hangs not good. Half the time you pull into the stations and the prices you post will not post.

Great for what it does - helping you find the best gas prices along your route of travel - but very clunky and slow when it does work. Yes, the mapping is data-intensive, but the app is often almost unusable in areas with 2-bar or less cell reception, and a real hazard to use while you're driving. Update: the map function has only gotten slower and clunkier. When scrolling around on the map, the station dots and map details often take 15-30 seconds to reappear, if ever, making app useless.
