UPDATE: jumped through hoops to log in via web site and pay for a yearly subscription for a lower price $5 AUD / month. Much better but still seems high for an app that is all user content. Anyway now when ever I log via my laptop it logs me out on my phone. Or vice versa. Is there a way to stop this? ~~~~~~~~~~ Was excellent but now crippled by monthly payments. $10 a month is not worth it to be able to add more than 3 photos. This is not netflix guys, it's and occasional use app.

First I liked this app, put all info for my garden/plants/activity. But after 2 months use, app doesn't show photos properly, only cropped thumbnails. I guessed, I have used up free storage, and tried to find out premium prices. On their website, monthly price is shown, but no monthly option on app's "go premium", just "10/20/30 exports", no clear explanation about "exports". I don't want to pay any money for such an untrustful app. Very disappointed. Moving onto Instagram for gardening diary

It was a blessing until the update. The feature for multiple photos has been removed. Being able to add multiple pictures for events keeps your journal less congested and also less tedious when documenting old plants. It was very beneficial for myself for I am simultaneously keeping track of plants I currently have while documenting plants I previously owned. Wouldn't mind a one-time payment. *EDIT* One time payment does not sound like yearly subscription.

This is easily the best gardening app that I have found. Lots of reviews I've read here concentrate on what it doesn't do! But what it does, it does very well! I was looking for a way to record what was in my garden and beyond a simple spreadsheet, I thought I might find an app with a mapping feature and information about the plants. Gardenize does not have these things, but quickly made me realise I don't need them. The photos feature makes up for this and is incredibly useful. As well as progress photos, you can draw on a photo of your entire garden, and use colour coded keys to identify the plants. And you can also photograph the info tags that come with the potted plants to you buy. It's well designed, easy to use and virtually bug-free. So if you're looking for a way to catalog the plants in your garden, this is it!

So much potential. This is a great app on the face of it. There are a couple of problems that need fixing. I use it just to catalog my own plants (to remember the names and cultivars). I have a couple of hundred plants, and there is an issue with some of the photos loading. Sometimes it takes ages or not at all. You should also add an alphabet on the side where you can tap a letter and the page will jump to plants staring with that letter. Scrolling constantly is a pain. Thanks. 👍

I've been using this app for a few years now. Loved it so much until the recent update. Now the app is super slow and crashes quite frequently. When opening the app it no longer automatically opens to "my garden". It Is cumbersome to navigate now and add plants to my inventory. I Really hope they fix the bugs and speed. This was/can be a great app for categorizing and creating an inventory of your garden!

I've just returned to this app after two years and I'm glad to see that it's still as awesome as I remember! I love that the journal entries are now on the plant profile and I'm so glad it has a synchronization feature across devices. No more losing my data after switching phones, haha! What I'd like to see tho, is a scheduler. I see that there's a way to set alarms for future events, but that's not the option I'm looking for. That would be some sort of a reminder system that uses a time period, like "water every 7 days" maybe with a postpone button, if the soil was still too wet. On top of that, a calendar for each of these actions would come in handy. Seeing colorful dots for when the plant was, for example, watered would help with understanding their needs.

I've been using the app for years and absolutely love it and it will not renew, not even with Google Play credit. Nothing I do will renew it and I think I'm going to lose everything tomorrow. Frustrating.

This app didn't recognize any of the basic plants that I tried to add. Not sure what their focus is, but it's completely useless to me. Edit - Thank you! Please provide an email, and I will send you a list.

I love this app. Instead of using a notebook to document my plants, areas and activities (which I always seem to misplace) I have immediate access...to share with family and friends, and to refer to as needed. Even the other day before I bought a duplicate plant at a nursery, I was able to log in, find out I already had a variety and instead choose something else. There are some fields I am not fully happy with but have started using them as I want. Thanks for a great app!

I used this app back when it was completely free. Im glad to pay the fee because this app is awesome. Hoping that the ability to share new entrys with my follower list and see their latest entries on my feed. The chat is a cool feature but being able to post and have conversation on post is a better feature. Like if i could share an event entry ,as an example, and get commentary on it.

I really loved using this free app to track my garden and it worked well. The most recent update took away several features that used to be free and locked them behind a subscription. Rather than improve the app with new features they took away from the free version. The monthly cost is more than many apps are a year, a bit steep. There are now video ads but I would even tolerate that if they hadn't also made it worse. I will sadly be looking for another app.

I like this app very much. I am having a problem where the app is set to US date format but is still displaying dates in British date format. I really wish I could set recurring events so that it reminds me every year for tasks like feeding and pruning. It looks like I will have to just change the dates every time. Support response was to ask me to check settings for date, but as I said, I have changed the setting to US there and it still displays British.

Edit from 3* to 1* -- After the update that I was forced to install today, the app is completely unusable without paying a monthly subscription fee. No additional benefit, just locking existing functionality behind a monthly subscription. And no, I don't care to hear about your yearly subscription, either. If you wanted me to buy into a subscription, you should have offered me new features. Uninstalling.

Let's you do all the work. Adds little value. Must add each of your plants and their needs to a garden. Does it have a library of varieties to choose from? No. Does it build you a garden schedule once you've done all that work? No. It's basically a diary for each of your plants. Maybe that's useful to someone. Update: added a star for excellent customer service. Still don't understand how this helps with "plant care" - just recording what care you already provided.

Overall a good app. I tried several apps looking for something that will help me track what is planted where. This was by far the best I found. Lots of customization and info options, and I love that I can define my garden areas and look up what is planted by area. It really needs a plant knowledge database/lookup feature, because it is incredibly annoying to have to enter all the info for each plant manually.

I have documented my gardens on and off the old fashioned way for years with handwritten notes and sketches. I actually enjoyed writing about my gardens but I wanted an easy way to keep track of the various plants and spaces, and mostly ONE place to keep the notes and lots of pictures. I played with a few apps before I came across Gardenize. I am learning to adapt it to fit my needs and find it a pretty good fit. I have shown it to some gardening friends and they have been impressed.

Here's what it's missing; there needs to be a section for planning your annual garden, preferably with lists of companion plants. Maybe even a place to set alerts such as a change in your watering schedule or when to to pick up supplies before your seed order arrives. As it stands the app is just a fancy list of what you're growing so you can show it off, not so much a tool for the less self obsessed. It would be more helpful if you could list your plants and then lay them out into a grid.

Reliable, easy and free. I attached multiple pictures to my records. Today, I went to make an entry, and my old version was no longer supported and I had to update. The new free level allows one picture per record. I've never had a problem with the freemium model. Give more, better features to paying customers. But yesterday, I could add as many pictures as I wanted, for free. You already gave that to me. Today you took it away because you want more money. That doesn't fly with me. Goodbye.

Really disappointed. This app used to be completely free. Hadn't used it in quite some time. I decided to download it anyway just to use the calendar feature, so that I'm not filling up my phones calendar with my gardening schedule. You have to pay just to use their calendar. Super disappointed with all these apps that used to be free but switched to paid versions. At least maybe give us the option to deal with ads in exchange for full functionality, or pay to remove them.
