More ads with every update. Scrolling through even 5 pictures gives you 2 layers of ads that force you to go back to the home screen. The best part? The pop-up ads regularly bug out and force you to re-open the app. I was fine with all the other ads, people deserve to make a profit off their work, but the ads have now left Gallery Vault completely unusable.

Hii! I'm currently very upset with this app :) I began to use it but then grew tired of it since locking each picture took quite a while so I gave up and just deleted it. With that, after deleting the app I looked at my photos later on in the day. Every picture I had not selected to 'hide' within the app had been deleted. Mind you there were thousands that were gone- many of which were important to me. I can't help but be a bit upset about this.

If you value your data don't use this app, if you ever have to reset your phone thinking you have the data backed up with Google drive it's a lie. I had to hard reset my phone after that tried several times to restore data from Google drive it says sync completed but I do not see any of my data. Contacted support with no help at all. In short its pointless to connect your Google drive to this app you will not be able to restore any data and in fact it does not even back up the data. Worse app

I never have to worry about anyone stumbling across my important documents! Update: It used to be 5 stars when you'd see 3 ads every 10 clicks or so. Now you have an ad for every time you click on something. It makes the app unusable. I don't mind ads but when it's more ad than product, it feels excessive

I do not appreciate being hounded for five stars. Once again an upgrade that ruins the experience. Now if you download a video it interrupts you when the download finishes, no matter what you have gone on to, and makes you click just to say you dont want to play it now. How foolish and a waste of users time. If I wanted to play it now I just would have done that.

I would've given it a zero star rating if possible. Lost all my files, that were backed up to the cloud. No real support offered from the developers. Initially was disappointed, but due to the lack of support just pissed now. What's the use of having a cloud back up option if you can't restore anything from it after resetting your phone.

THE ADS ARE OUT OF CONTROL! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE APP! The unpaid version is 90% locked ads, and 10% usability. It has gotten worse and worse with every update. In fact some of the ads close button we're buried under the link to sign up for the ads. I have been a user for 5 years and could not wait to pull my pictures and data off of it. Even when I was able to remove my data, some of it came back to its original location corrupted....

Works great, it's my favorite private file system for hiding all my embarrassing pics and vids. Would be 5 stars if it added the following two features: 1. Ability to sort/view by filename. (For instance, I'd love if the pics/vids themselves had display options with visible labels, similar to the folders list). 2. Search function. This is sorely missed. Right now I have to semi-blindly search/organize using only thumbnails as guides. This is mostly a problem with videos.

Been using this app for years but now it's trash. Your photos will get corrupted, you can't import/export too many files, and it gets worse every update. If you have photos, export little by little (about 100 max) to save your photos. Using Android's encryption option is a better option than this depending on who or how you use your device.

Notifications prompting to open copied URLs every single time the app is launched are very annoying. Devs, please allow us to opt out of this feature if we don't use it. I'd wager 90%+ have no use for it anyway, as this is a file-hiding app first, rather than a web browser. It is intrusive and disruptive. Simply give us the option to enable/disable this feature and the app experience will be much better.

Recommended. New user to the android world. MS will be stopping support for Windows Phones for many apps by the end of 2019. This app was easy to setup. The free version contains ads and has some limitations, but does not effect basic functionality. Does what it claims. I found other version that stored the files on the internal memory. This app stores the files on removable SD memory and uses very little internal memory of the phone. I purchased the lifetime upgrade for $ 12. Added some useful features.

At it's core, this is a good app and has potential to be the best of its kind on the store. However, you are bombarded by ads and the pricing for the pro features to remove ads is absolutely ridiculous. None of the pro features justify subscription billing, and the lifetime price is way too high even at the current 60% off. I was going to purchase the pro features but the pricing model was a big red flag. I currently cannot recommend this.

One thing the changelogs never mention is that they keep finding places to put more ads, but the pictuer viewer remains half functional. As of this review, new ads have just been added. Ads can appear when closing a photo, closing a video, closing the web browser, closing an album, at the end of albums, the top of the list of albums, the top of the albums page, as every option of the second tab other than the browser, and the entire bottom half of the second tab. It's too much, not worth the $

I've trusted this app for years now, and it has let me down twice....phenomenally. Just remember to do yourself a favor and backup all of your files to a separate device and storage because "uninstall protect " and setting the app as manager does not mean that the files can't be erased by some other means, I have no idea what happened to mine, but I'm fortunate enough that nothing serious was lost this time....well over 200 videos lost, completely lost.

Used to be great, but the ads have gotten completely out of control. Half the time I can't even get logged into the app because they screwed up the sizing and the ad can't be closed. Then when I'm in, an ad every time I open a folder. Then every time I try to open a file within that folder. Edit to respond to dev: I don't need to give more feedback. You replied nearly two years after I left this review and uninstalled the app

Could you please add screen ratio for the video player to allow for full screen video from edge to edge? I know it would crop the top/bottom but I would still like to have that option for some videos. The premium version is very nice but the free version is way too ad intrusive. Update: I just found the "open with" option in the player that allows changing the default player which allows me to adjust the screen ratio from edge to edge. I didn't see that option before and I'm glad it's there.

A very, very useful app with an annoying, deal breaking design flaw. After spending months saving files in the app I somehow disabled the write permission for the SD card storage. Files are still on the SD, but I can't add any files onto the SD at all, even outside of the app using the normal files app. The options to move files to the SD and vice versa are gone which is really infuriating. This has happened more than once. Please provide a fix.

This app is as good as they come. Much better than all the competition I tried. My only wish is that they need to have an option to play photos back in "random" sequence when doing a slideshow. Other than that I have everything I could ask for in this app. Edit: They added the random which has been great. Now they moved some stuff in the UI I don't care for as much, but I still love this app.

Works well with images and videos. Doesn't support GIFs very well. Most of them take a very long time to open. As in 5 minutes or more. I end up deleting it. Now it stopped restoring my old file and I've lost images because of it. I paid for the app too and they refuse to respond to my support tickets. Edit: Worked after trying the article a few times.

Edit: im upping the stars because i use this app alot and i find it very useful.. the only thing that could be improved is recovery if your phone is lost, broken, or non functioning. It took an act of god to get my info/pics/ etc back. While this IS a good security feature, when i bought a new phone and not having access to the old phone, made retreiving my stuff a nightmare.. if a better way could be found, that would be great. Otherwise i love this app.. im a lifetime pro member too!
