Gabriel is able to analyze SMS messages in 23 languages. Although it is impossible to block new numbers that don't have a history of making spam calls, we’ve already identified over two billion Caller IDs that may be used in spoofing scams and block them from ringing your phone.
Privacy and Data Protection
Gabriel® loads your Contacts List on your device to create a safe caller list to allow them to ring your phone, create a call log, and show the caller’s information in our user interfaces. Gabriel® also loads your Contacts List on the device and not in our servers, to enable you to establish a Safelist of callers, Purple Alerts list, and Blocked callers list. Purple Alerts notifications are sent from your device to our https://b95fb.playfabapi.com server and the Contacts you have selected to receive notifications. Gabriel® will not function properly without these permissions.
When you choose the optional invite friends feature, Gabriel® also loads your Contacts List to send a deep link invitation to each Contact to purchase the Gabriel® app. Both you and your Contact earn points.
The Spoof Detection feature loads your Contacts List on your device, to send a deep link invitation to your Safe Callers in order to send a pre-call notification to verify the caller’s device and prevent spoofing.
Gabriel does not sell or share your information with anyone for any purpose. An optional registration is included to redeem reward points, perform automated complaint filing, and register your phone in Do Not Call lists. Except for the display name, this information is stored only on your phone and not on our servers.
Gabriel® loads your SMS/MMS on the device and not on our servers to determine which message to analyze. Gabriel® only analyzes SMS and MMS messages from unknown senders. When a suspicious message is detected from an unknown sender, a notification is automatically sent to our https://b95fb.playfabapi.com backend server, and a “Purple Alert” notification is generated to notify people you have designated as a Favorite in your Contacts List. The notifications sent to your Contacts and to us at https://b95fb.playfabapi.com, include the original SMS or MMS message content, as well as the date and time, approximate location of your device, and Caller Identification of the sender. The message content and notifications are stored in our PlayFab server for up to three years and then destroyed.

I started using Gabriel because the native Google Pixel messaging app kept letting spam messages through. Gabriel has so many extra features and its very easy to use! Just keeps getting better as they add capabilities with updates.

Works great. I had a little hiccup with the app. But it was my fault trying to add to many numbers to block. But developer's we're quick to fix my problem. Thanks. highly recommend app

I like the feature of adding safe calls to a safe list and blocking nuisance calls. The products definitely ranks in the top three of other applications I have used to block robo calls. Thank you too the team at Forward Edge!

I purchased primarily for spam texts, but also for spam calls. Couldn't see how to add numbers to block. Spam texts were still coming through as well. Left a message for support, including my email address. After 3 days, no response. Deleting and unsubscribing.

I absolutely love this app. My phone has been so quiet lately. It used to ring dozens of times a day every day including weekends. Now, only the people I know call. It even told me when a scam text came in. I highly recommend that you try this.

I switched phones and started getting errors. Eric from Forward Edge-AI corresponded with me and set up a call to debug and fix the issue. This was far beyond what I would expect from any app developer. Great customer service Eric!

First of all, I love love love this app. It's a little hard to complete on-boarding, but after that , this app is great. It detects scams in many different languages, that's incredible. And I love getting points for reporting scams.who came up with this idea? Thank you for this product.

I love this app. Block all calls not on my safe list usually does the trick. Just make sure the people to turn off during the day (when someone might be calling you about a job), and turn back on at night. You won't be disturbed by them pesky callers. I couldn't be happier!!

I read the reviews before purchasing this app. Not a lot of good information for the reviewers, so you're basically on your own since there isn't a trial. What I like about this product is Purple Alerts for my grandmother, automated complaint filings with the FCC, points, and smishing text detection. Call blocking is average. It's not horrible, but its not the best. The app does however, have a lot more going for it.

The app doesn't tell you how many of My Achievements have been actually achieved. Also, there is no screen to show your transactions like which gift cards or crypto currencies you redeemed. These are minor gripes but can make the gamification so much better.

After trying several other SMS apps to replace the stock (non)app on my Samsung phone I decided on this one immediately without a trial. So far it's been easy to use and no problems. I like the options for blocking calls like blocking by area code or international numbers. So far no bugs discovered.

Looks like the experience between phone and contacts. Very intuitive. Perfect user experience. Good customization options. Great tool to keep your contacts clean. Based on my experience, this is actually one of the 10 most useful and reliable apps in the Play Store.

Good concept and it pretty much eliminated spam calls. Unfortunately I ended up uninstalling due to it blocking legit calls from Drs and call backs from businesses I had just called with long wait times that offered to hold my place and call me back. I would have to mark the number as safe and go through the process again of being in line for a call back. If it would recognize return calls from desired legit businesses I would have been happy to keep it and recommend it to others.

I absolutely HATE paying for apps. But THIS ONE is worth every penny. There is room for improvement, but you can see improvements in each new version release. That tells me they are listening to their customers. If you suffer from scam texts or telemarketer calls overloading your phone, this definitely will stop a lot of them.

So I decided to give this app a try since I have been getting an absurd amount of scam and spam calls. Within five minutes of using this app, I was banned/suspended. Update: They fixed the issue. But I'm still weary of reporting now. I still get 5+ phone calls a day that are spam or scam and not being blocked. So I had to literally just block everyone not in my contacts.

I downloaded the app today, paid the $1 and installed. I reported the last several spam calls that were on my phone. Got another call, tried to report it and now the app says I am blocked for suspicious activity. WHY? Update: I asked them why and have not received a reply after almost 24 hours, even though they supposedly reply within minutes. Uninstalling. The RealCall app seems to be a better option for me.

This app doesn't work for me. It keeps wanting me to subscribe, and then, when I agree to the terms, it acknowledges that I've already subscribed, but I can't get beyond that. 1/22/23 It's nearly two months after my initial comment. I still cannot get beyond the screen that acknowledges that I've already subscribed.

GARBAGE! I installed this app because I was receiving too many spam calls every day. I thought this app would block many of this calls but it didn't make any difference. It doesn't block any. I did all the settings in the menu to block smam calls and my phone still rings again and again. I guess this app lacks a database of spam phone numbers to block them. It's just usless!

It's ok so far. I would love to have the added feature that will actually block a rejected call that they say it is "likely spam". Instead I still get it sent to voicemail which is what I wanted to avoid when paying for a service. Who wants to see their voicemail filled with rejected spam mail. I've also recently received international call when I have the setting enabled to block them. But I end up getting my voicemail box full with them which basically renders this app rather useless to me.

I bought this app mostly to be able to block incoming texts from certain area codes. I set that option, but they keep coming through! So far, it doesn't seem to have blocked ANY suspicious calls or text messages. In 3 instances, it did warn me of a suspicious caller that was likely spam. In two cases, it was; but in the other, it was a legitimate call that I had been waiting for. I carefully checked the settings, but nothing helped. I left a message for support months ago, but no one responded.
