Fortunately, I have not yet needed to restore data, so my comments do not reflect experience with the core functionality. My low rating is attributable to the app's apparrent inability to respect the settings I've selected, especially the backup schedule. I've specified a middle-of-the-night backup once per week ... yet this app seems to back up my data whenever it wants! I get about 4 notices a week, at any time of day, telling me my data has been backed up. If they can't get this right, ...?!

I've had the monthly unlimited plan for years and it worked fine. The past couple of years they've had problems. I had it set to auto upload, but it wouldn't work. I'd have to contact them and have it fixed. Recently, my subscription had not expired (it's automatic) yet they didn't take their money as their end wasn't working AGAIN. The app stopped uploading and I didn't notice. My photos there were inaccessible if they are still there. I cancelled the subscription and deleted this garbage app.

This app is so easy to use. Great for seniors, which I am. I feel relieved that i have this. I'm planning on getting a new phone and this was a must have. The only complaint/concern is about the ads. It became quickly obvious I would need more space. So I signed up with one of the ads and paid the fee. However, this particular app was not for the gcloud on a mobile device. Nowhere in the ad did it say it was only for a pc. When nothing showed up on my phone I contacted them. At that time they told me their services were only for a pc. They did refund my money. After my space was full, gcloud notified me of their additional space for my phone and I signed up.

Insufferable experience on my Galaxy S22 Ultra. Since upgrading, the app continuously crashes when backing up. Also, I keep getting booted and told my credentials have changed (they haven't). I'm frustrated enough that if my annual subscription hadn't just renewed, I'd cancel. I appear to have access to my previous device backups, but it's essentially useless on my newest phone. If you're looking for reliable data backups, I'd avoid this app until they fix these bugs.

Quite frankly, a pleasure to operate, well done eh? While I haven't had this app installed for much more than a week, it doesn't take more than a few uses to see that a lot of work was put into the design and implementation. It is very well laid out, easy to use, & helps keep your backups, pictures, digital media etc. safely preserved. Which, IMHO, is one of the most useful and valuable services a company or app can offer. May your developer kung fu endure, & your servers never die.

This is a scam. They email you a great subscription offer for life but then never allocate more than 1GB of space. Now I'll have to dispute the $49 with my credit card. No way to manage subscription online, only email support (never heard back). Junk and a rip off. Their website says 319,000+ reviews, but there are only a few on Play store. Amazing. Days later, still nothing but they still got my $. Jerks.

I used this app for years & loved it. It disappointed me when I installed OneDrive on my computer and my mobile. I put all my photos in OneDrive to stay in sync, and OneDrive altered ALL the metada (creation date, modified date... ALL date metadata) to be the date of moving to onedrive. I tried to restore everything from the date prior to moving to OneDrive using this app, only to be disappointed to find it doesn't do versioning, so I'm stuck. So disappointed in both products. :-(

In 2015 I rated this app with 5 stars. Today 12/6/20, now only 1 star. After their latest update, app no longer works. I used to be able to open app and could view and open pictures, documents etc with no problems. Now all I have is a bunch of folders with a question mark on Center of folder. Can't open or have access to any of them. Sent email to support, but no response. Now I just have a $39 a year, useless app. Won't renew next year if problems is not resolved.

*editing my review because since the update this app is horrible. Pictures used to be stored in files (camera, whatsapp, instagram, etc) now it's just duplicate pictures throughout. You can't even go to a certain date anymore to find a specific picture you want or search by tags. It's just a ton of pictures in 1 big folder. I hate the new update. I've loved this app for years and have paid for the unlimited... But if this doesn't get fixed soon, I'll be finding another app to switch to.

Update: I tried restoring my messages and it didn't restore everything. Some messages were restored disconnected. This is disappointing. This app is no longer any good. I will delete. What happened? This app is no longer working properly since the updates. The design is pleasant, but the functionality has been displaced. I can't see any of my saved messages! And thanks for the heads-up letting us know about a potential data ruining update. This is absolutely ridiculous!

UI is easy to use, there isn't much to it. My biggest complaint that I made the mistake of not researching before spending $50.....you can't create albums and move files around within the app. From what I can see, you import them from your device, and they go into a generic download folder. Once in there, you can't move them to organize them. Myself being someone that has everything in folders to better keep track of it, this is a huge flaw. Please create the ability to move files and create folders within the app/gallery app.

It does what it says it does, and seems to work as designed. But it does not make restoration easy if you have a good number of backed up datasets. Data from a single backup is not easily available since each category is stored separately. Does not synchronize phone data to phone; only a SIMPLE BACKUP. If you backup several times, then when you restore, you could get all the files and data you deleted on your phone restored back to your phone unless you clean up the data in the cloud before restoring all. Probably not a good solution to restore the entire phone to a new phone or after a factory reset unless you want to spend a lot of time in the cloud searching through all the backed up data, category by category, to decide what to keep and what to toss BEFORE YOU RESTORE. Application Data from the Android>Data folder is NOT backed up, so you could lose a lot of data history from apps that store their data in the Android folders.

I love having such an easy to access, reliable source for backing up and storing important data. But I'm not happy with the new change that now eliminates the option of looking up photos by year. I can't come up with a logical reason as to why that very convenient feature would be eliminated. Having to search thru 100 photos one by one, may not seem so bad, but when you have HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS, it's just down right frustrating. So could someone see about adding that back? Please & thank u

Backs up photos, but not all. For example, app says 5 pics have uploaded, yet they've not. Refreshing backups makes no change. Frankly, app doesn't have option to access (my) ALBUMS. That is the #1 cloud I seek -- like my reliable, outstanding Dropbox. Don't know why I'm checking out other cloud apps, to be exclusively for my media. Must be bored. Canceling my account and uninstalling, pronto.

It was easy to use. They gave me free extra space too. Highly suggest you get it. It's now 2021, and I've repeatedly had such severe issues with this app. It never syncs right, or it tells me I don't have an account, or that my account has been suspended due to payment issues... but I have every single gcloud payment on file since close to 10 years now...

I used to sing this app's praises. It was drama free and easy to use. But due to some glitch on its back end, all of my files are now listed completely OUT of order. Worse, there is no ability to ALPHA-sort no search by file name. When I contacted support, they claimed they were unable to rectify the issue on the back end. No exaggeration, I have close to 10k files on here. What sort of cloud program doesn't program itself to have basic search or sort?

There are many good reasons to like the G cloud app, unfortunately now that I've been using it I've learned about its MANY limitations. The interface is very poor, the options to manage settings or delete old data are slow, cumbersome, and weak. I often receive error messages and can't find the problems. No online help exists. It's a useful concept, but a poor execution.

Reliable, a bargain for unlimited backup storage, easy interface. Great great app. UPDATE: what have they done to this app? It used to be so easy to find everything you had backed up, now it is virtually impossible. As an example, you can no longer search for photos by date. You scroll through 10 years of photos trying to find one you know was taken in 2017. It used to be easy to find the data it had backed up for your apps. Now, it is nowhere to be found. App is now pretty, but non-functional.

I've held onto old msgs for years! With this app I can back it all up and im now able to delete the clutter. I looked forever for a reliable n trusted app to back up my texts for free. I have found though that it will back up same info if still on device. SUGGESTIONS... 1. Integrate some kinda smart technology that only allows unbacked up msgs to b backed up 2. Auto backup when new detected in or out. 3. Option to delete info once backups done. UPDATE:4/28/24 Still use n still Love it!

G Cloud offers a convenient way to safeguard your phone's data. It provides automatic backups for contacts, photos, and more, with flexibility over what you store. The easy-to-use interface makes restoring files simple. Plus, with a PC version available, you can manage your backups across devices. While the free storage could be larger, G Cloud is a reliable choice for streamlined phone and computer backups.
