I used to play fruit ninja for hours. I also never played the original so I never got the feeling of "playing a cheap copy of it". that was until recent updates, and now I can only play for one hour unless I pay a subscription (which I obviously can't do, if I could I would have bought the no-ads thing). I just think this was completely unnecessary. why would you do this, especially knowing how many kids would be playing your game?

DO NOT INSTALL. This is not the game you're looking for. A recent update removed all of the "classic" aspects of the Fruit Ninja we love. Now, it's a crippled, tedious spin-off of the original. It's not fun. It confuses my kid. It does not work offline anymore and requires some scammy sign-up to play. They just added a "free" 60 minute trial mode after everyone complained, but I paid for the original full version. What gives? Now, I will never trust anything that comes from this publisher.

I was having fun playing this game until I noticed that you need to PAY money for a subscription on a FREE game! And that's not even mentioning the people who paid for the game at launch, now they have to pay for a game that they already paid for! "WeLl ThEn JuSt GeT tHe MoDeRn OnE." Yeah no, Classic is the best choice and they basically just made it unplayable for free players like myself. F2P players, if you see a game that has a + symbol at the top left of an app's icon, don't get it.

Well its finally happened. I'm being asked to pay a monthly fee for a game I paid for previously with the expectation of continuing to be able to play it in the future. Customer service even said prior purchasers would be grandfathered in so we could continue to play without needing a sub. EDIT: Support is useless. The devs have no idea how to handle prior purchases. Should've just made this app a "code" and made the sub version check for it. Easy fix. Devs didn't think this through AT ALL 😡

A simple time waster that I have enjoyed for years but, after years of providing a quality app with no in-app purchases and no advertisements, Halfbrick decides they are going to update it and now demand a monthly subscription fee. So, after all the years I have been playing this I am uninstalling the app and I will not be purchasing anything from Halfbrick ever again. Not when they decide they're going to arbitrarily add subscription fees to products that never had them before.

Halfbrick is killing their games on purpose it seems. "Here's 60 min free" pay and sign up with an account. Prolly would never need to play more than 60 minutes but greed puts a bad taste in my mouth. Way to ruin childhood games. Rip fruit ninja and jetpack joyride. Ads are fine, paying a buck or two to remove them permanently, awesome but a subscription, no thanks.

Great game just like the good old days with no ads (edit) : now that you need half brick plus, 😬 it really sucks because I have quite a bit of progress in this game but I just don't have money to spend especially for a freaking _subscription_ and the one time purchase over _1000_ nok is crazy in my opinion. Anyway I'm changing my review to 3 stars ⭐, Goodbye👋.

Already paid for the game a long time ago and now you're removing my ownership and selling access to the game under a monthly/yearly subscription. Terrible. Nobody asked for regular updates and "events" especially for a game marketed as the "classic" and original version. The original never had so much pointless fluff. Good job successfully ruining a good game.

The Misleading Classic. Despite its name, Fruit Ninja Classic is not really the same game as the classic version. It doesn't have the same unlock system for the unlockables. However it'll be a lie if I tell you that this game is inferior in any way. It's a perfect arcade styled game that still holds up to this day. There are zero microtransactions and everything is unlockable through the game.

I am 42 years old and I STILL Love Fruit Ninja Classic. I play it all the time. I was surprised to see that the game was Updated AND Upgraded by a lot. That made me happy and want to play it more. I love the Special Events. I love that some of the Blades are now obtained IN GAME, instead of having to Purchase them with REAL Money. One to mention, is the CHAINSAW Blade. I remember we had to purchase it for like, $4.99, I think..? NOW, I was able to obtain the Chainsaw thru Normal Gameplay.

Unfortunately, this classic version of the game has no high-framerate support at all, and the game speed is tied to the framerate. Thus, new high-framerate devices will run the physics far more quickly than intended. I know Samsung devices will switch to old-fashioned 60Hz in battery saver mode, thus slowing the game down to the speed it's supposed to play at.

Fantastic game! I appreciate the lack of ads and in app purchases, and the gameplay is classic Fruit Ninja. The blades now have gameplay advantages which is great motivation for me to keep leveling up and reveal their secrets. Speaking of levels, there are levels now, instead of using stars, but I really don't mind the change. Only criticism is that I wish it had support for 120hz gameplay, but it's not a huge deal as I keep it on 60hz.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A NEW PHONE. This game uses and outdated/poorly developed game engine that speeds up based on how fast the refresh rate is on your phone. If you have a 90hz screen, the game plays at 1.5 speed. If you have a 120hz screen, the game plays at 2x speed. And there's no way to turn this off without reducing your phones screen refresh rate. Very disappointing and completely invalidates any enjoyment you get from the game when it's impossible to play

Just what I was looking for, pretty much just as I remember. I miss the days where you could just pay once for an app, and that was it. I'm so much happier to just pay money once and have it. No subscriptions, no ads. Scratches the nostalgia itch for a game I used to love. Works great on my Samsung S10, I haven't had any of the technical glitches that other people have talked about.

It's pretty close to the original (other than the leveling system) and it's pretty fun, with ONE glaring flaw. HALFBRICK. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME. The game has a bug where it will run twice as fast as intended if your phone runs at 120 Hz, if you want the game to run smoothly, go into your display settings and turn your screen refresh rate back down to 60 Hz. HALFBRICK, THIS IS A SIMPLE FIX, DONT TIE THE GAME SPEED TO THE USERS FRAMERATE.

On the pixel 5, when I'm on arcade mode, the fruits move way too fast! I haven't tried it on other game modes but when I switch to battery saver, the fruits move at normal speed. I've played this game on other devices too. I don't know if it has something to do with the smooth display but maybe a fix on this? I noticed another thing on why it goes so fast on the pixel 5. Even the clock goes like 1.5x the speed because of its 90hz. Can this get a fix?!?!

Since the update requiring you to sign in with Halfbrick, it has reverted the game back to the real "classic" edition. When I originally got the game, this is what I expected classic to be as I had nostalgia but it wasn't. I was pleasantly surprised by the upgrade to Fruit Ninja they had done with a fun leveling system and blade powers, etc. Now I am incredibly disappointed that it seems to has gone backwards. Please revert back OR split into a new game that is true classic like this update.

Everything in this game is sped up to ridiculous levels. The timer counts down at around twice the normal speed (despite saying it's at the same time), and the fruit is thrown extremely fast at the start compared to the more leisurely Fruit Ninja and Fruit Ninja 2. I really wanted to like this, seeing as how I loved the original Fruit Ninja, but the speed issues make this unplayable. It's like they took the original and set it at 2x to 4x the original speed. Don't waste your money.

I love that the game has stuck to no in app purchases, that's the main reason I don't play the "modern" version. I just wish they would keep the progression truly classic. It's very close, with the same aesthetics and fun challenges to unlock base blades, I'm just not too sure I like the upgrading blades feature. I don't remember that being in the game when I used to play. I'd rather not have that sort of "grind" in the game. Still very fun, though. PS: I have a 120hz S21 and the game runs fine.

Old, but fun and amazing game to play...that isn't that overly done to death match three nonsense. Edit (5/14/24) Since greed has taken over, and the new system for their subscription based gaming is in effect, my score reflects that. At least you can play for an hour free, which is why my score is 2 stars instead of 1. Edit (5/15/24) Played two games and had an ad after each one. Now 1 star.
