Tried the app last night, and it was going well until one of the monsters drew a card that was not supposed to be in it's deck and it one-shotted a level 1 character in the first scenario. We thought that must not be right so we pulled the deck and that card isn't in there. So then we had to draw the monster ability cards irl instead of in the app, but you can't manually input the monster initiative. The app became absolutely useless at that point and we finished without it. Frustrating!

I don't envy developers of this app. With the scope of Frosthaven, it's tricky to know how far to go in a companion app. This app does effectively allow you to track monsters, effects, hit points and initiative. There's so much they *could* do but I think it does a good job as a scenario helper. Definitely appreciate dealing with way less cards and tokens! Additionally, super quick response to feedback and feature requests!

So far terrible. Long time GH fan, loved the combat helper for GH. I was hopeful that this being the Official app would be more of the same and maybe better but right now, it's far from it. I play with my partner, and they couldn't do anything in their app once connected to my room. No scrolling, entering info, seeing enemies info, nothing. Also session 0 is set up wrong: wrong enemy initiative and wrong attacks on enemies. Not happy to waste $8.

I wouldn't mind the bugs and lack of features if this was a free app. We haven't used it for a while now so maybe some of the bugs might be gone. I still can't do something as basic as rename my character. What's worse, the freely available X-Haven assistant app is far superior than this. I got this app as soon as it came out but we didn't start playing until several months later so I couldn't get a refund. I wouldn't recommend this while there's a free app that works much better than this.

Conditions auto-expire when when that option is turned off. The new system for standee numbers is awful, at setup just spawning all monsters in numbered order, (1,2,3) and having to go and manually reassign them all is just garbage design. There are items and effects that change initiative order after it's determined, so those should be adjustable after card draw as well. Still having response issues on many buttons, but especially conditions and experience, sometimes tapping 4+times to update.

Got Frosthaven just recently, and I used a companion app when playing Gloom, but this is buggy. You'd better not ever suspend the app if you take a pause in playing.... When trying to relaunch, I've encountered a lot of issues. Either not able to connect to another session. Or there is an entry that won't go away at the top. Just saying the free third party app was loads better than this pay app....

I am hopeful, like many of the others that there will be many updates that improve and perfect the many issues with this first version. We still need iphone and steam apps to be released for support for the whole party. When I run "Online" mode it is very very spotty; I gotta click stuff like 5-10 times for it to be accepted. It worked okay for "Offline" but then I had to manage my whole party from 1 Android phone. Lots of little issues. Scrolling 1 column can get to be a really long list.

Mostly helpful. The app doesn't let me assign hit points to objects/npcs so I track those manually. I haven't tried the loot deck in a campaign because I heard it was buggy. I played around with it outside a campaign and it seemed to work, though it only shows the 5 most recent cards. I don't have a lot of playing space, so this app saves me a lot of time. I haven't experienced any connectivity issues that affected others.

Really bugs me that you can't mark people as "done" after their turn in initiative. Statuses that should only last a turn then don't clear automatically. You can't specify the IDs for monsters as they're added, it picks for you. Also, really annoying there isn't a desktop version. With more feature rich fan made apps, I use a desktop version that displays on a TV every player can see, but insteas this version wants each of us to buy the app separately and drain our phone batteries.

This is a good outline of a functioning Frosthaven app. It needs a lot of work though; it feels very unfinished for the price. One of many issues is that the summon function doesn't really work as it does in play. You can't choose what summon number you are using, there is no way to edit that. (Boneshaper, for context). Our session connection broke pretty early and couldn't re-connect so ended up tracking everything on one device instead of communicating. I have reached my character limit.

The app provides a loot deck, but no option to turn it off or on, which is a little annoying for those who don't want it. However, if you play a custom scenario, you can't set or make a loot deck at all! This means you have to use the physical loot deck if you play anything that's not in the campaign. Also, despite what the update says, you can't assign loot to characters unless you track turns with it. So why bother using it? Also, I wish they had a spot to submit feedback or suggestions.

This app is buggy as all getout. It often freezes, randomly disconnects, or otherwise goes wonky. One cannot really peek at the monster deck, a power of one of the character classes, among other problems. I cannot stress enough how little value there is for one's money. If I could give it fewer stars, if I could. After this latest update, the app can't even be used anymore. I can't get it to even open a scenario, much less to play. Indeed, I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

A couple of missing features, but overall a really great app. I would love if attack conditions from enemies were included on the card, and an easy way to rearrange initiative after drawing(some cards allow you to change it). The X-haven prompting for which numbers of enemies and quantity is much preferred to all of them being added and then having to update them to match the board. But overall it's a really great app and I look forward to seeing features get added over time.

There are a few missing key features in comparison to the Gloomhaven app that I would really like to see implemented in this game's helper. 1.) Although it includes an "undo" button, the button seems to lack functionality between turns-- clicking "draw" or "end turn" will essentially render it useless. 2.) The initiatives of other players are not hidden to other clients when entering them in online mode. This may seem silly, but would be a vast improvement over current implementation.

Pros: * The netcode is vastly better than the free alternatives. * adding all enemies automatically for each section is great Cons: * It shows initiative of other players in a group session before the draw. This is a ridiculous oversight other apps have nailed. * end round command seems to only register 50% of the time in a hosted session.

I mean, it has great potential, but the current connection issues make it unplayable. There's also no way that I can tell to draw from the ally deck, and several of the early maps require you to do that. I'll update this review as the app hopefully improves. Feb 4 Edit: Ally deck issue is fixed, but it is still unplayable with friends due to the connection issues. An email from the dev states that they will be moving servers Feb 2023 and that will fix the problem. Will update then.

This application is so inconsistent and buggy it manages to break in some form or another at least 50% of our scenarios. Trying to run it online and have multiple users is a mess plagued by disconnects. This on top of the many bugs is just unacceptable for a paid application. The free community version of this (X-Haven) isn't perfect either but it's far better at this point and that one is free. We aren't even on niche hardware, we are all using fully updated Google Pixels.

Really want to like this app but it's a cluster. They fixed the networking. Yay. In exchange, these bugs forced us to the exhaven app: Hitting "draw cards" for monsters starts some sort of roulette wheel effect with their initiative and the app basically locks up. It randomly decides to not draw cards for 1 monster so we don't know it's initiative and need to use "draw extra card" just to continue.

It's really limited and almost feels as if it's half developed. The monster and ally decks for attack modifiers are there, but not for players? You can put conditions on players but not monsters? Just seems shoddy at best. Stability is okay... once in a while my friends would get DC'd but they could easily reconnect to the room code again. Of course, multiple player functions seem pointless as everyone can change anything so may as well use it offline.

still missing some nice affordances from the old, fan-made app that they killed, like the ability to damage and heal by dragging left and right on monster health, but it's sloooowly coming up to parity. Networking is more stable than the old app, which is nice. I'm in the camp that considers the game almost unplayable without a companion app like this.
