The only reason I returned to this client is because the one I left it for doesn't support my new phone. I'm getting sick of the growing pains with it though. It's constantly pushing the same notifications at me, even after I've entered and cleared them. If I dismiss it, it shouldn't send me reminders for notifications I declined to respond to. Further, it's got graphical bugs, like not showing the bottom of the message thread or text entry box. No notifications for messages though. Figures.

I have a huge list of things I'd like to see improved, or fixed, as they seem entirely broken, but apparently, Google has limited how long a review can be. I'll likely send an email to the developers. Overall, I like this app better than the official FB app, so I'm gonna keep it installed for now, but I can't uninstall FB, because some features are either missing or broken. Hope to see some stability fixes soon, too.

EDIT: another update and STILL NOT FIXED. The navigation button closes the app instead of going back to the home page. Going to the notifications page works the first time, but after that, it closes the app. Whatever features they tried to add just broke the rest of it. Heck, every update to "fix" the navigation issue makes it worse! It's basically unusable now. Off to try the MeWe platform since I refuse to use Facebook's battery-hogging app.

Started great, gets worse by the day. Friendly can't access photos and won't ask for media permissions, so I can't post photos. The 'back' navigation is spotty at best--usually if it does anything at all, it goes to the home page and forces a refresh. Most recently, marketplace became inaccessible. Until these are fixed, I can't keep pretending that these problems don't bother me.

It's a good concept but this app is super buggy. Notifications don't come in real time an require a refresh. Can't add gifs in posts, instead another window pops up. Sometimes images don't load and you have yup hit back and click again. Back button brings you all the way back to your feed instead of the previous window. Maybe this app will be a suitable replacement one it matures a bit. Then I'll be happy to pay for it.

Wow. Absolutely one of my favorite apps. Extremely streamlined. Everything built in. I love the layout, ease of use, notifications, every single thing thing about this app I love. I prefer it over the normal browser. So cool! Thanks guys, awesome job. 7/28/19 - changed rating to two stars because support absolutely sucks. I paid and can't get any help. I no longer receive any notifications even though it is turned on in the app and active on my phone. 10/26--> THREE months later and still no resolution to the notification problem. Uninstalled, even though I paid for it. Junk

I love the customizations, the ability to filter out topics, the screen, etc. Glitchy at times as far as things not showing up (like a post button here or there), when you have the dark theme, but as a page is loading the screen is white, difficult to tag others at times, freezing at other times. But over all, the good definitely outweighs the bad. Thanks, friendly. :)

It was fine before, but now messages don't show up well - - you can see only the current newest message. The search feature doesn't work - - it says I'm not registered in the account. And it keeps asking me to log in when I'm change networks, even if it's a network I've used before. Leaving Friendly until all of this is fixed. I did like it before :(

The app has been the only way I would log into Facebook for years but it has been broken for weeks now. I can careful select all of the nice settings in the app to avoid ads, use amoled, hide stories and reels etc but as soon as I return to the feed all settings are forgotten and I'm blinded by the white screen and stories. There have been 2 updates since it broke and every time I am disappointed to see the problem still not addressed. I've even had to install the real Facebook app for now 🤮

Used to love this app as a replacement for facebook and instagram. Each new "fix" seems to break two other things. Now instagram won't load at all. Disappointed Update:. More time has passed and even more things seem to be "broken". 1/22/24 update. Came back to try this again after a year - paid for upgrades (edit colors) but when I try - it says I need to upgrade... I have a receipt.

From a favorite app a few years back, it has deteriorated! With the latest update, sharing a public post no longer works. I tap and tap the share button. Nothing happens. The app takes up a lot of space and needs the option to move to an SD card. Please developers fix what used to be a wonderful app! I would love to be able to give you five stars again.

I used to like this app, but over the last couple of years it's just become infuriatingly JANK. Like, getting unusable. Idk what is going on but it's a problem and I'm about at my wit's end. Missing buttons, selections that refuse to apply, really slow and usually non functional picture uploading, half the time I want to make any kind of post it just... doesn't, lol. God forbid you accidentally try to scroll up, it'll just refresh the whole page or erase the post or comment you were just writing

Once again, not working. This is very frustrating. 😞 I hate when updates break more than they fix. Update 2/8/2024: app is no longer separate from FB. I get pages I don't follow and am not interested in. The "suggestions" bury the pages I do want to see. Please return the app to what it was before all this. 😭 Update 3/14/24: Biggest bugs: can't block spammers, the feed completely resets when I click the back button and I lose my spot, can't post photos, can't share, can't comment on much. 😞

How I felt before: (5/5) Definitely run into occasional bugs, but overall, I am happy that I can use a customizable alternative to the FB and Messenger apps :) How I feel now: (2/5) This app is broken. It's been struggling for well over a year and now I'm looking for alternatives. Cannot comment on posts in Facebook, feed does not become chronological even when thst feature is activated, no in-app notifications for messages, the list goes on and on -_-

Friendly used to block ads in Facebook, as well as let you customize your feed settings. The app now no longer functions correctly in nearly any capacity. I can't change Facebook feed settings because the check mark buttons don't work in the app. The app no longer blocks ads. The app doesn't allow you to comment - the text box simply doesn't exist within the app any longer. A once great app, now useless. Pretty sad.

Friendly is just a app shell for Facebook now. Does nothing the friendly app originally promised. Facebook may have changed or started to charge for their API data (like Reddit). Either way the friendly app serves no purpose now. Does not bring any enhancements or allows any modifications anymore. On top of no longer functioning, the controls are extremely buggy. Pressing the back button on your phone, minimizes the app, instead of going to the previous page. Shame.

I tried. I really wanted to like it. But I had to give it up. I like that it's an app that isn't Facebook, but using a browser ended up being a better experience. I couldn't handle the lack of notification options, the troubles with screen resizing (not being able to see all the content on a page), and the login troubles (clicking on my profile and being taken to my profile, but saying I'm not logged in). Only used Facebook, but it wasn't good enough for me, when simpler options work

This was great, it only showed the pages I wanted to see, no ads, I could set it for top comments or recent. Now it's no different than the regular facebook page, I can't set it for recent, it shows pages I never even heard of and don't want to see, one story will be 1 minute ago then the next from last week, then back to an hour ago. So since it's no different, I'll uninstall it.

It works reasonably ok. My only complaints are: 1 - no option to sort posts by most recent. Not really this app's fault, but Facebook sucks for being so hostile to this. You can get a chronological feed from the 'Feeds' page, but .. 2 - the filters [remove sponsored posts] don't work in the Feeds->All view. That seems like something that could be fixed in the app.

2024 and another review edit (#3)! Still can't get it right in this app. Another update, another set of issues. Buttons on the lower toolbar still don't function properly. And now, notification button may open someone else's feed or it may open up 3 old notifications with half of the screen blank. Can't watch videos that friends post. How do your updates go so wrong? What exactly are you "updating"? At this point it's just comic relief to keep this app and see how bad it can get.
