Don't bother with this app in Rome if more than 4 people; we had 5. If you do actually get a cab, although we never could, pay through the app so the driver doesn't just charge whatever they want. We had to pay whatever the taxi makes up that they want to charge because we never got a taxi available through the app. Taxis don't bother with a meter here. *Update* - The service mostly works in Barcelona, but we had a driver pick up someone else, drive right past us, and would not cancel the trip.

I use the app in Rome. Even though the app may tell you that a vehicle is only 2 minutes away, you order the vehicle, and they never come! I have even tried to pre-book a vehicle the night before. That pre-booked vehicle may never show up, even though I've booked a 24 hours in advance!! To the developers of this app: "the app should not tell you that a vehicle is only 2 minutes away unless the driver will accept it! Or you should have some kind of a disclaimer. Very misleading!"

This app is totally worthless. It acts like it's doing something. Trying to find drivers, busy right now, etc. But I never once got a driver through this app in 3 different cities in Italy. Better to just call. I even tried to book ahead for a train. But it doesn't do anything until time of departure. Then the same story.... No taxis available.

Absolute garbage. I can't believe Google suggests this in there map transport options. Tried to use it twice Barcelona. Both times, the driver told us he had arrived. He was nowhere in sight. After I sent him the address the again, he said he needed 10 more minutes. The other driver tried to make us walk 6 minutes to get to him. I canceled both rides. This app is bullsh*t. Deleting.

It is nothing but an outright scam. I doubt they actually have any real cars at all. I have ordered twice, and on both occasions no one appeared anywhere within sight, with me first getting a message the driver had cancelled the order, later finding out I had been charged 5 Euro for cancelling - which I obviously did not do. A perfect business model - you collect orders, do nothing, then you cancel them, and then you charge the customer for a made-up thing they never even thought of doing.

Literally the biggest scam, baits you with lower than local taxi prices but the waits are way longer than shown on the apps, it's impossible to reach your driver's through the app (the message button doesn't work), and they charge exorbant cancellation fees if you don't go through with the drive. I tried to use the app several times but to no avail. I would give zero stars if that was an option. Waiting to get refunds on the cancellation fees because that's ridiculous.

Totally failed us. I would not use again. I had reserved a taxi to take us to the Rome airport to catch our flight. The app kept telling us that a taxi was on its way, and then (5-10 minutes after the reservation time) said that driver had cancelled. Then said a new driver was on his way--then that cancelled also. Freenow later said that the problem was not with the drivers but rather caused by glitches in the app and its server. We almost missed our flight. I would not use again.

It gets you to & from places as needed, but I wouldn't really recommend this app to anyone unless it was their last option. In Italy our quotes were never exact, but rather dictated by the driver's meter, & we definitely felt that that was taken advantage of to charge us more. Depending on the location sometimes we wouldn't even be able to find a ride, so their network is definitely not was big as bigger ride apps, which you're better off using because they're less of a hassle & similary priced.

Inaccurate and buggy. Even though I have always included a destination, every single driver has called and asked where I'm trying to go. As there's a language barrier, this makes it difficult and frustrating to try to get around. Pickup location is inaccurate as well. In spite of me marking myself and my location in all other apps showing as in front of a grocery store, this app showed kept moving my location into the middle of a nearby road

When FreeNOW can't find a driver (which is nearly always in the last 6 months or so), it kicks you out to the main app screen but DOESN'T cancel your trip, so you still have to go in and do it, even though you are seeing canceled on the trip. Insane. Charged a cancel fee because a driver eventually got around to my pickup location after I'd already got into another cab. Save yourself time, money, and hassle and use another app. GPS is also trash in this app.

Good app that works well. There should be a confirmation button before calling the taxi. I was scheduling a future pickup and accidentally tapped the button for immediate service. I wasn't familiar with the app, but was able to cancel within a minute or so, but it seems unfair to the cabbie that they were taken away from other potential call for that time.

Update: app has terrible GPS, doesn't show realtime update of where taxi is, often gets my location wrong, and now just had a strange experience: I was never picked up. Never saw the taxi. Called him and he said he was on the way but never arrived. Then it said I had to pay and I had no way of ordering another taxi without first paying. Tried to complain from within app but it doesn't work. I like the multiple payment options. Wish it was a little faster but I'm happy with it.

It was sold to me as a substitute for Uber X in Italy. The app falls short on many aspects though. 1) Every third ride would be cancelled by the driver and apparently they're not penalized for this. 2) Geo positioning is very inaccurate and it's impossible to simply move the pin to your location on the map. 3) You have to confirm each payment by swiping the slider after the driver entered the amount. I har really hard time making the UI work as it simply wouldn't slide. 4) The app also depends on the internet connection at the end of the ride which may well become a problem if your phone loses connectivity. That happened to me in the airport when I had to pay. 5) It wasn't possible to call a taxi at the Milano central train station. On the positive note it is still a decent way to hail a car and pay with a credit card in Italy.

Poorly designed app and unreliable service due to the business model. Fees charged by taxi drivers who use this app are obviously NOT guaranteed by the app, and seems arbitrary and subject to last minute negotiation, even misleading, at the end of the trip. More annoyingly, drivers don't seem to follow the address I put into the app order. I had to wait after getting the message from driver he was at the wrong place. When booking was put in, took a long time to search drivers who cancel trip too

The first taxi ride was great. Easy to use and reliable. it let me schedule the day before. the second time I tried to use it, it didnt let me schedule the day before so I couldn't use it. The third time was a disaster. i ordered a taxi (with 2.5 hours notice) that was very time sensitive as I needed to catch a train. The driver was on the way and then cancelled 10 min before pickup. I will never use this app again as I need dependable drivers. but the app also will not me delete my account.

This app is probably slightly better than standing on a street corner waiting for a taxi. We prebooked a flight to the airport and the driver declined the ride the morning of but they said they booked another driver who didn't respond to communications or show up either. The best part is the app just decided that they would behave as if nothing happened. May work for hailing a cab last minute in a busy city but don't use this for planned journeys, just contact a taxi company for your plans.

This service is Uber, but without the attention to users. It kind of does the same thing, but then it takes the worst from taxi companies: - It lies about whether taxis are available - Taxi drivers are free to ignore your request, leaving you stranded when at an inconvenient location (please let me offer more money to at least get back home?) - Frequent crashes and cumbersome elements in the flow (eg moving your pin, requires you to start over)

Used the app during a recent trip to Spain and Italy and it worked well. On average, it took less than 10 mins to get a cab confirmed. I did not experience issues with drivers cancelling rides or issues with a pick up location for a group of 4 once the driver was confirmed. The cost of rides were comparable to those charged when not using the app. If near a taxi stop or taxis were readily available I skipped using the app.

Can't reach drivers or main office during emergency. Horribly unsafe app. Driver won't answer. Main office asks you to fill out form. Called a previous driver who said "nope. It's all app based and you can't reach a human. On phone, chat, email." This is a time sensitive matter and I can't reach anyone. What kind of mobility app doesn't have a back up??? Truly frightening if you had a safety or health or security issue. Better to use other taxi apps where you can contact a human being.

FreeNow has become useless in Barcelona. Estimated times are meaningless. Taxis cannot be found or they cancel without explanation. Once a taxi even showed up, but canceled right in front of me to pick up another passenger who hailed it without using the app. To add insult to injury, now they let drivers start the meter when they accept the ride, several minutes and Km before picking you up. That has got to be inappropriate!
