Update 9.8.21 The app itself is good. But be aware once you pay for the coaching it is very difficult to find a way to cancel your subscription. And as soon as I got charged $90 for 6 months which by the way not worth it. I emailed them and they do not offer refunds. Just a voucher. Not cool. The work outs always kick my butt. Perfect for home and on the go. No more excuses.

Annoying! Since the last update I am just thinking to uninstall even when I pay for the coach. Everytime I check the messages in the breaks and come back using the notification icon the workout restarts. It's so annoying. That does not happen if I go back through the last opened apps. Also, warmup and cool down should be optional, I do freeletics after or before my workout and I have my own stretching and warm-up routines

Love this app so far! There is just one error that I have noticed and one thing that could be improved on. The error is that during interval running occasionally (30% of the timeish) it will tell you the interval is done twice. In these instances it seems to double your pace time for that interval The improvement suggestion I have is to give a few seconds between the active cooldowns so that users have time to switch to the new cooldowns position.

For those that complain about it not being free, it is free if you dont want a coach. Also, quality is never free. A fact all people need to learn. I have not yet subscribed but I do intend to. It's very organized and easy to understand for beginners. There are also videos for every workout so you can make sure you're doing the exercise properly. Bad form is wasted exercise. Great app.

This app is really the best such app I've seen. I've looked at so many of them and none have made me want to buy the full version. Yesterday I bit the bullet for this one. The recipes in the nutrition side are very good and give a good "easy to advance" range. The workouts are flexible and allow you to easily adjust based on daily needs. Can't get to the gym for some reason? No worries just tell it that and it will modify to a bodyweight only only without so there's really no reason to miss!

Good app with one fatally annoying feature: not allowing the user to skip (or shorten) the rests between sets. I find them to often be unusually long. What winds up happening is I will go through the workout without actually clicking through it on the app, and then click through it later to "complete" it. It just doubles the amount of time spent on the app, which is super inconvenient. If this option isn't offered, I won't be renewing.

I stuck with this for over a year, so there's a lot to praise. The app is simple, slick, and the coach feature takes all the planning burden off you, which actually saves a lot of time. I'm cancelling my subscription, though, because I don't like its progressions. I, for example, really struggle with pull ups, and the app flips between asking for strict pull ups (which I cannot do at all) and 10s dead hangs (which are too easy). I'm switching to an app with more intermediate exercises.

Update: Been having some app failures recently. Old app used to save workouts until cell phone was connected to signal or wifi. Now it fails to upload due to no reception.... Sometimes it uploads after but been losing workouts recently. I still like the app but would like the bugs fixed. This app is for self motivated people who don't want to go to the gym and don't want to but a bunch of equipment. Easy to follow and pushes you to your limits. Also you can try some workouts for free!

Hands down my favorite. I've stuck with Freeletics longer than any other regimen. The variety of exercises and workout combinations keep me from getting bored. Everyday I open it up I get a different workout. The feedback system has kept me from getting comfortable at a difficulty level. It gets harder but always within reach. The best tool to reach my fitness goals I've found.

I've used the app for 2+ years (paid coaching version). It is a good concept, but there are a few key areas where it is lacking. The feedback you give the coach does not clearly change the trajectory of the current or future workouts. For example, I am doing the "dumbbell gain" journey, and I keep telling it certain workouts are too easy, yet the next session with the same move it is the same (or even gets easier in some - this might be broken!). All I have room for. I will try a new app!

Some minor things I dislike: the stretches do not give you time to get into the next position. There are too many things to click through after every set. I know feedback is how it creates the next workout, but I don't want to blog after every set. Sometimes it seems too focused on legs, core and glutes. That said, there are many more positives. Someone with minimal or no equipment , just a few feet of space and some discipline and dedication, can go from zero to amazingly athletic.

I really enjoy this app for the most part. The exercises are good and challenging. I've made it through a few of the different training journeys and I've liked them all. There are a couple of quality of life things I feel like the app could do better with, though. I think it would be nice to see exactly how far through each stage of the journey you are and I feel like the community feed is confusing to navigate sometimes. But for the workouts, the app is great.

A great app to get fit with minimal space and equipment. Perfect for frequent travelers that may stay in locations without a gym. The coach feature pushes your limit, but not flexible for the user. They should allow more equipment customization. Such as exercises with dumbbells instead of barbells or when you have some but not all equipments.

Be warned: I liked this app before I signed up for the coach. Be very careful if you're thinking about going for the paid version. I tried the coach feature (paid) for a while, but it wasn't for me. When I tried to cancel/unsubscribe, there was no way in the app or online to cancel the subscription (I looked several times in both). Naturally, I forgot to follow-up (I didn't actually know how), and without any warning in-app or by emails, I was charged the auto-renewal. When I responded to the email asking for a refund, within 4 hours of a YEARLY subscription, they just said tough luck. This is a ridiculous, short-sighted policy! Note, I've asked for refunds for many subscriptions immediately after the auto-renewal and I've never been turned down before. Shame on the Freeletics team for this policy. I obviously no longer recommend this app to friends, and I warn anyone thinking about trying out the coach feature the the app with try to squeeze you even when you're not getting value. There are two things that I'd expect for this Freeletics team if they actually care about the people they're serving: 1. At a minimum, have a small window where people can get refunds after auto-renewal. Particularly for people that clearly haven't used the product since renewal. 2. Ideally, provide prior with a 1 week heads up via email that their subscription is about to auto-renew. Surprising people with auto-renewals is a way to bring in a bit more money shirt-term, but you're going to make people angry, and that's a bad move long term!

App has been updated multiple times since my last review (almost 10 years ago!!!) Expanded offerings greatly, but now that the sample size is large, still offers "dumb" data. For example, if my personal best was from 10 years ago (again, !!!) me racing against that today is a doomed to fail enterprise. Of course I'm going to be slower on each set. Each set getting farther off the pace is demoralizing. It used to show against the previous try, which was a better measure pf improvement.

I would give 4.5 if possible. Super flexible in the possibilities and allows for a challenging workout routine. Probably the best workout app I've seen so far. That being said, it kind of maxes out at some point. 4 years in, I'd say that after about 2 years you've more or less seen everything it can do. And it would be nice if it was easier to search through history, as well as edit the past comments (ongoing issue for years).

I like that you can customize workouts and choose when and how often you want to work out. Love that you can select what equipment you have so they don't give you exercises you can't actually do. The price for a yearly sub is one of the cheapest I've seen. I can't afford it right now but will definitely sub in the future. They have amazing customer service, very responsive. I do wish there was more stretching available for warm up and cool down but overall a solid workout app I would recommend.

I tried the free version and liked it so went all in. This one has warmup, variety of exercises that target large and small muscle groups, and cool downs. Updated interface is clean and intuitive, includes splits on personal best time. Nice feature. Well done devs. Updated after 2 years of using: still keeping me working out. I've tried 4 of the workout journeys. I appreciate the variety. Devs keep updating with new features and suggestions from users. Best workout app I've ever used.

Good app navigation, no unnecessary nonsense, good instructions and guidance using videos. Enjoying it so far Update... I've been loving it! Been at it for about 7 months. Love the steady progression, learning new skills like handstands and jump rope double unders, box jumps and much more! Feeling a lot stronger and fitter than I was before I started. At 40 I'm feeling great with no issues. Banging out 50 push-ups, no problem.

Sceptical at first but it has proven itself. It pushes me to do hard workouts but never to far where I don't want to do another workout, good balance. Also incorporates stretching into workouts which helps prevent injuries. Update: 3 years later and I'm still using this app, good stuff. FYI, there is a lifetime subscription that I just found out about, probably should have done that a few years ago, it would have paid for itself by now.
