A lot of complaints about the first duel scene with blank. The controls pop up fine for my moto z 3. Not gotten stuck yet. It is a bit different with the controls if you're used to the ps1 controller for sure. People saying it looks amazing with new models. They seem to be the same to me but I guess they do have a little more detail that used to.

This is a fantastic example of what new technology can do for old games. The backgrounds, the cutscenes, the characters all have substantial improvements, you can actually see the details the ps1 could only hint at. Having achievements for various parts of the game is a fun touch. Be warned though, this thing is a memory hog, the expanded details cites 4+ gigs, the shiny new details and features come at a price. Over all a good game with great updates, that'll surely get your nostalgia going, and is pretty enough to attract a new audience.

Bought the game for $20.99 and all I get as soon as i attempt to load it I get a black screen, I'm a huge fan of final fantasy games (all of them ) so its extremely disappointing. I have a revival 6 pro with tons of space and memory so what could be the issue? The fact that I spent real money for the game and it don't work is very frustrating. Fix it it give me my money back

Update: at last this works again!! The game boosters are great and help too move quickly through the game and have more of a mobile experience while you can still play the game as originally intended without boosters. Old: Does not work on newest version of android even with messing with permissions in and off it will lock up at the title screen. You can't play it so don't buy it and if they won't support it why buy any of their other apps. Now randomly and sometimes intermittently working.

From playing this classic on the PS1 in front of the TV on weekend mornings to now being able to play it virtually anywhere on my mobile device seems to transfer the fun experience that is FF9 very well. I love the enhanced HD visuals and audio plus the added touch of nice responsive controls just brings me back to that world with a modern touch.

I want to give this game a 5 Star review so bad. It is an amazing port. Everything works better then the original. However if you are on a Pixel 2 please be aware some users are experiencing a glitch when 2 text boxes pop up, you cant press the screen to continue. The only solution is to Bluetooth a controller to your phone, and press a button to continue. This happens SEVERAL times through out the game. Please fix!

I was looking forward to playing this game for the first time as I am a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series, and I have heard a lot of great things about it. However, I cannot progress past the first 30 minutes. During the play, the dialog progresses without any input (like tapping the screen). However, the game stops at the duel between Zidane and Blank. I've tried tapping the screen and swiping the screen, but nothing works. VERY disappointed this doesn't work on my Pixel 2.

playing on a galaxy s6 no problems at all, 10 hours in around gizamaluke(sic). no lagging or crashing or problems with chat bubbles. controls are amazing and menus very easy to use due to touchscreen tech. the gameplay and story are very rich and have me very hooked. this is my first time through 9 and it is not letting me down; perhaps a wee premature but it might be my favorite out of the series. totally worth the money.

THE GAME NEEDS AN UPDATE!!! It seems the developers just gave up on this fantastic and amazing game of my childhood. The controls are super bugged, you'd need to use a seperate bluetooth gamepad to pass certain events in-game such as Zidane & Blank sword-play show. Gameplay/graphics are perfect and smooth but could still use some stability fixes. As to the storage, its fine as long you have space for a game this size with the data file. All things considered please, COME BACK DEVS!

Just finished the game a month ago. Was very happy the developers made an update to make the game playable on newer android versions as there was a black screen issue that many had, and even though there were people saying there was a workaround for it, it simply still did not work. The game for me plays perfectly, of course I've never gotten 100% used to the controls on a touch screen, I would a thousand times prefer using an actual controller but I still really enjoyed this game, 10/10!!

This is one of the best games of all time! If this game is not working on your phone go into your system settings, app permissions, find the FFIX app and turn off and on the storage settings then try the game again. I just upgraded phones where it had been working for years, I knew it wasn't the game. I got this explanation from another review I read while investigating this problem. Please don't give 1 star due to phone technical problems :(

Awesome port. For at least the note 10+ it took a bit to get it to work. Like others said download game and get black screen when you play it. If you go into system settings -> App then find ff9, you will find permissions. The storage card access is denied. Or at least it was on mine for some reason. I allowed it and for extra deleted game cache, prolly didn't have to. But when reopen game it was all good. Installed with splash screen and extracted. Not sure why it doesn't ask for storage.

Final Fantasy IX not working on mobile POSSIBLE SOLUTION FF IX It seems like the FF9 app has some issues with android 10 or something. You will get a black screen after launching the app and nothing else. Here is the solution for Samsung devices at least. Not sure about other android phones like Pixel but could work on those too and I would guess they are all the same. I found this tip on a Play Store review and gave it a shot. There were DOZEN of people complaining about this same issue on the Play Store review section, I was one of them but changed my rating from 1 star to 5 stars. It sucks that the game is getting lots of bad reviews cause of this issue. "Awesome port. For at least the note 10+ it took a bit to get it to work. When I first launched the game it asked my permission for the storage and I gave it that but got the black screen after that. I tried reinstalling and clearing cache etc. but nothing worked. I tried this guys solution for the giggles but was 90% sure it wouldn't work. I went into setting - apps - FF9 and found the permission section. I had it turned on (cause the game asked me to turn it on when I launched the app) unlike the person above me who had it turned off. I turned it OFF and back ON again and for some miracle it started working. I also cleared cache after that but not sure if necessary. So the classic "did you try turning it off and on again" literally worked. I hope this helps others too P.S. free Emulator to download and easy to find many games. Classicboy found in the play store works pretty well for a free one and contains multiple consoles.

This is one of, if not my favorite, Final Fantasy game. Great game play, good graphics (for the time), good story, and just all around fun to play. Bought a while ago and redownloaded, just to find the black screen issue. A review here by Andre on 2/12/20 helped explain it's a permission issue. After downloading, go to Settings, Apps, FFIX. Make sure storage permissions are allowed. If still not working, try denying & allowing again. Took me two times but it works great again! Thanks!

TBH. This is my favorite Final Fantasy and I have been playing them since 7's original production in 1997. I have even played the older titles and found the stories more thought out, involved, and compelling than anything from 7 on-ward. 9 is like the 7, 8, and 10 titles in design and features. However, this title is more trying to get back to the roots of final fantasy. This Merge of things will always make this my most beloved title with Zidane being my Favorite Character in the Franchise.

This is the best FF port I've played on mobile so far. The level of care taken into it is exceptional. It runs smooth, controls are intuitive, and it's all around a fun game to play. But be warned, FF9 is ripe with content and will keep you invested. This is a dense experience and will not always be a casual experience. Edit:10-29-21 The game periodically crashes in battle which seems related to using certain summon spells. The frame rate might stutter prior to crashing as well. Using an S9

OK so... I suppose I'm not the only one discovering this problem. I switched from a ZTE to an LG Stylo and the double dialog box glitch is apparent on the new phone, though I had no issues of the sort with the previous phone. Seems like a recent bug due to newer Android OS update or something. Probably an easy bug fix but I'd like it soon. Very much would like to finish this game. Its a wonderful remaster.

Great gfx. Great gameplay. Runs perfect. Love it. I've made it to burmecia with absolutely no problems. Edit. Won't start Edit edit: I found a fix, go to phone settings, permissions, turn off all permissions for ff. Start the game, close it and re-enable all permissions (just storage most likely). Ff9 started up just fine for me after that. Not sure if you'll lose your saves so try at your own risk.

The first final fantasy I ever played....oh the memories. Generally this is great. The controls take a bit of getting used to (lots of double clicking in certain places to do things) but it's a great nostalgia trip. I feel like some of the battles are easier? Or I've just gotten better. Would be 5 stars if summons worked. As many say, they often crash the game and it's totally random...which can be a pain in certain parts of the game where saving isn't readily available.

The game randomly crashes when I summon an eidolon, effectively making two of my party members now worth bringing. Which both happen to be my healers. A very unfortunate bug, would rate 5 stars if it was fixed. Other than that it works and plays great, touch controls work great, you get a floating joystick wherever you touch, or you can tap the area you'd like to walk to. The rest of the touch controls were adapted nicely as well.
