More About Files

Some phones, tablets and other devices don't have a file manager installed by default. There's usually a file manager available though: hidden away in the settings app. This shortcut app allows you to open that file manager with just one click from your app list.

Everytime I sort out my files by new or old they never stay like that and I have to sort them out everytime I open the app. Please fix it. It's frustrating!

Hey just dropped by to say awesome job! Your app allows access to the files within actual apps that are supposedly "write protected" bit there's literally no reason why we shouldn't be able to go in and copy stuff. You are the man! 5 stars!

seems like the new updates made it extremely unavailable to access the Android data. I left a very important zip file there and now I can't even access it. Idk why, but I'm now unable to modify my Android datas. It's my phone, I paid for it and it's a shame that I can't even access those important files back again. I know you're trying to fortify the security measures in android but pls allow the third party apps to access my Android data and others. Sorry but this app ain't helping me.:(

This app did what no other could. I updated to android 12 and could not view files or write to them. I was considering a long process to revert the firmware. This was as easy as clicking install. Works for the "cant use this folder for your privacy, choose another" issue for file management.

I have never been more genuine with an app before but please for the love of all. Fix the file access issue like what the rest are complaining. I cannot transfer important files like self made music or images. In summary, taking away something important to the user.. suprise.. ISN'T A GOOD IDEA! ❤️

It gives you access to the system file manager that's installed by default, and it's PERFECT. Utility-focused and perfectly functional. There's no excuse for this not to be installed on all Android phones by default.

Fix you're app...." can't use this file" / "choose another file" like i have important to acces for my files and can only access to one files....fix this update...its so suck it doesn't help anymore....you should close it instead and hope the devices find a greater one...this one was so useful but after the update its so sucks now.....to bad for some android users who experienced the "can't use this file"

Old Tablet packed in. Now using A 'phone, latest software denies or at least makes difficult, access to data from an App I use to access Subtitles - So important to me - Thought someone had 'Fixed something that wasn't broken.' Well they had hadn't they, but the via Search, found a Reddit Article which suggested this App., AND, ZAP, all is well. So many thanks for enabling one HoH to enjoy his viewing. Best Fred F.

Sorely needed shortcut to Android's hidden native file explorer — the only way to see inside /Android/data, and other locations blocked from 3rd-party apps. Thanks to the developer!

EXACTLY what the description says it is! The built-in file manager this shortcut links to is very bare-bones, but it is free, already installed, and surprisingly powerful. It can even access cloud storage, such as Google Drive!

Awesome app. Files by Google (Google's own file manager) does not allow you to access files within Root\Android\data, but this app is just a shortcut that allows you to run your phone's native file manager. Which, in my case, was able to access the files hidden by Files by Google. Thank you to the developer of this app.

I love it! The Google file app kept adding sub files to my sd card which I didn't need and I had to delete at least 2 times a week. Everytime I turned it off I'd loose the factory original file program from the phone manufacturer. The only downside I see is I'm going to miss the file cleaner feature. Hey if I have to I'll install one of my own.

Works perfectly! This is perfect for anyone who does not like Google's Files Application. It actually gives you what you're looking for via the Default Android Storage App that is hidden in the settings app. The App is just a short cut, it doesn't do anything else but send you to a different location.

I use Pixitracker to make music. Pixitracker is an older, low price music making app. It hasn't updated since March 2020. Google decided 2 years ago to change how folder structure is handled in Android, so you can't easily access your saved songs in the Android/data folder where their saved by default and is the save location for hundreds of apps, making them near impossible to access without rooting or using a PC. AOSP Files solves this by allowing access most or all of your directories.

Android (Samsung) is starting to turn into iOS. The Samsung My Files app and Google files took away the ability to see into the Android>data folders like a stupid iPhone. Having 4 iphones years back switching to Android was the best thing ever. But now they're trying to make it harder to install your own APKs and downloaded apps. This shortcut is all you need. No es file explorer or any other 3rd party stuff

I've been looking for standalone access to this app for quite some time- this app is so much more useful than the standard "MyFiles" app (Samsung's stock file manager) in terms of functionality, especially if you need to access diverse cloud storage services all in one place; every account is ALREADY BUILT IN! It's extremely difficult to find a third-party cloud manger that supports various cloud accounts as they are usually very limiting in terms of supported platforms. Very grateful!

perfect, Perfect, PERFECT ! ! ! No nonsense ads or in-app purchases, just a perfectly functioning app. Based on reading other comments, apparently this app gives you access to the default File Manager on your phone, which for some reason doesn't have a shortcut available on newer versions of Android. This app works just like the default File Manager app with no weird add-ons. Thank you for making this app (shortcut); I can now use my phone the way I want to.

This is the shortcut to the default Android" Files" app you never knew you needed. Not the one with the "file cleanup" feature. The one that magically appears sometimes, and when you go back to your apps list, it's not there. It's the 'admin' one that Google doesn't really want a lot of people to use unless THEY think it's appropriate. So to repeat, this is just a shortcut, to help you find the last file manager you'll ever need, and the one that actually came stock with Android.

Access is available on my devices. An A71, SM-T970, and my Amazon tablet. Thank you so much ! I am a power user in need of full access. It was once available, but no more. ES File Mgr was my go-to app. Then they messed up and are now history. This app is my replacement. I'd be lost without it as I transfer data between all 3 devices and a multitude of sdcard backups. Again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH ! (thankyouthankyouthankyou- bowing very ungracefully at your feet)

I just got a new Android 14 phone and the file manager apps I usually use would not grant access to non system folders in internal or SD storage. I would be told to choose the top tier but then it would say "you can't use this folder, create a new folder" and then it denied access to those too. Horrible time trying to figure it out, couldn't, and so looked for an app that would work. THIS ONE WORKS. I am so relieved. Thank you! 🐸
