I picked up the app because several wikis push it aggressively if viewed in a mobile browser. The wikis are in the app, but they're harder to use in-app than with a browser and the app spams "news" article notifications all day. If there was an option to view the desktop versions of the wikis or set the wikis to be the default page when clicking on a category, the app would feel a lot less like a missed opportunity.

Similar to countless others around the world, I've always loved watching anime, reading manga, and playing video games. I always find myself researching character information, powers and abilities, game history, and even random trivia. But, I always got that information from the same place. Fandom is the pinnacle of research, information, and communication. In my personal opinion, the greatest library in media for anime, manga, games, and more!

Not every wiki is available in the app. Search results in the app are terrible, rarely returning what I search for even when the terms are verbatim what the page title is. Cannot expand or collapse sections, making much of a page inaccessible or tedious to navigate. No wiki directories, making navigation without the terrible search function impossible. There are more faults than will fit within this limited text-box. I could write an entire article about it. Use the browser instead of this POS.

A lot has happened since my previous review. What was once a one stop shop for a ton of wiki's is now an ad ridden mess with a lot of wiki's. Sometimes it's a timed pop up ads mutiple times per page. Sometimes it takes 2 to 3 pages before another ad. This only started happening to me in the past few weeks. I can't recommend to anyone wanting to look something up this app. It's usefulness is outweighed by its hindrances.

The app experience is not intuitive. The web page version is easier to navigate (can provide examples). Also when going to the web version from a Google search, the app is default, but does not load. The loading lines will blink rapidly and not load anything. Thankfully the lines are small and hopefully they don't trigger someone with epilepsy.

This app is indispensable to anyone having a hard time keeping up with a big game or series with extensive lore. I fell in love with the witcher 3 at launch and immediately knew I'd be a big fan of the series. Having just left home I never had time for it. Last year I decided to tackle the entire franchise but wanted to finish TW3 first. That wouldn't have worked without this app. It's great for recapping when you have to put it down for long periods, and great for keeping track of the books

Mobile browser website is better. I downloaded this in the hopes that it would have settings/preferences and themes, but it only takes away functionality, it doesn't add anything. At least with my phone's web browser, I can have a black background, I can open multiple pages, *and* those multiple pages will remain open the next time I launch my browser. It would have been AMAZING if it were designed similar to the Wikipedia app. That's honestly what I was hoping for. Fandom is just way too basic

the app is nice, giving me notifications for news on various topics I'm interested in like xbox, Microsoft, assassins creed, star wars, etc. But this is a medium in which links to news articles are posted, so sometimes those links lead to websites that have varying levels of advertisements. Some are okay with a little something at the bottom screen but others have popups and a video ad after every paragraph.

The app is adequate, but it puts extra steps between you and the content you want that the individual apps didn't. I find it a pain overall and being presented with a limited selection of choices to subscribe to just feels cold and impersonal, especially if multiple wikis exist for the same thing and you can't tell which you're getting. It's Wikia's branding that really does the experience in, though, because it rips the heart out of the individual communities.

I personally love this app; mainly because it has most everything I need to know about a certain video game. I use this app for several different games, such as Borderlands 2, Skyrim, Watch Dogs 2; for example, Borderlands 2 is a game I play a lot; it can give you every variant of a gun every legendary down to every common... Incorporates DLC as well. It has the whole 9 yards when it comes down to it... Also, it has movies too.

Frustrating to navigate. You search the wiki you're looking for, and you can't find individual pages because there are no other search options, so you're stuck tediously navigating from the main page, making it incredibly inefficient and slow. I've also had issues with text boxes logging in, like autocorrect freaking out when typing in a username (an issue I only seem to have with this app) , or the keyboard not even appearing on browser sections.

Useful to look up a lot of information, but had several glaring flaws that make it a burdensome experience. Mainly, every single page I visit has a video covering almost the entire top half of my phone screen (Android) with no way to close the video, the home pages for each wiki never seem to have a useful index of pages (when compared to web site version), and there does not seem to be a way to search only the wiki you are currently in and not the entire fandom.

Generally a good source of information when I'm stuck in a game or looking for end game setups. Not sure what happened but ad placement is annoying and way too frequent. Hey you at fandom! Limit your ads please! I don't need an ad between every 2-5 lines of text on a page that may have only 3-6 paragraphs or segments. There's the ad bar on the bottom of the screen and a minimum of 3 web injected ads on every page. navigation in a subject could be better. Your desktop setup is perfered.

Fandom (Wikia, really) is indispensable to me when playing certain games. But the last few years of nonsense redesigns seem to be mostly to get you to click on ads, or so they can play a video unrelated to what you're reading about and sticky it at the top of the page. So I downloaded the app hoping it would be a better experience, but it's actually worse. A clunky UI makes the various wikis very hard to navigate, and I NEED tabs. Very disappointed in Fandom's recent business.

Thx for the hard work that goes into the app, but I've had an issue: It's been several years now that clicking a link from the Google Search app, or anywhere for that matter, first opens the Fandom app with the loading symbol....and then immediately opens a tab in my default browser, both Chrome and Samsung. And I'm not the only one. I've already gone into the Fandom Android settings and made sure it was clicked as the default app. You really need to fix this. S22 Ultra. Verizon. Up to date.

My God, it is useful, but there's so many annoying little issues. If you go to character page, there's no way to see the rest of the wiki. There's no button to see the wiki front page or a table of contents for other pages (like on Chrome). There's also the problem that, if you try to look up a wiki page to take you to the home page, you legitimately cannot find it because it's buried underneath all of the character pages. I would use the Chrome version, but it's unfortunate glitching for me.

I'm a frequent contributor to a few wikis, so having an app where I can read through pages on-the-go is somewhat useful. But other than a wiki's main tabs, it's difficult to navigate anywhere else without having to switch to a browser. And even still, some more popular wiki pages have gigantic ads that are insanely annoying. I get that they need to make money, but they can afford to put advertisements somewhere more out of the way. TLDR, great for quick reading, but not for anything more.

I really like the app and for the most part, it does its purpose. But recently, every time I type something in the text box (to make a post or leave a comment), it gets all glitchy and sometimes the text disappears altogether. It seems this has been happening since I tried copying and pasting something pre-written. Idk if this is the reason why I can't seem to type anything without it messing up but it's really annoying 🙄

This app is perfect for easy research into characters and shows. However, everytime I open a page, the drop downs stay open no matter what. There is no way to minimize the large paragraphs of history or personality or anything, I have to scroll past an entire novel of information just to see what powers a character has. I hope this gets fixed

Very nice, but a few problems. Personally, id like a way to customize the feed on the home page, and to make groups of and rearrange my saved articles. Not-so-personally, there are TONS of fandoms that are not included. Definitely hundreds, possibly 1000's, depends on how many fandom wikis there are. What I don't understand is that the app will automatically open whenever I click any fandom link in a web browser, but it will immediately redirect back to my default browser instead.
