Great mobile RPG. Graphics and gameplay are pretty good. I have a few hours into it and so far so good. Ran into one bug where I went to the game menu and when i closed the menu I couldnt move my character. The menu cursor was stuck on the side and everytime I moved I was moving the cursor. Had to restart. And the movement control sucks big time. Takes some getting used to and even then you will find yourself still struggling with it. Overall it is a nice game and I am enjoying it very much.

Evoland 2 has a good story and concept but is frequently hampered poor, unresponsive controls. I almost made it through the game, but I got caught by a game-ending glitch and am now forever stuck on Lost Island. It would be a 5-star game if everything worked, but the stiff controls often make gameplay tedious and bugs/glitches appear far too often.

More story-driven than the original, and also contains more live-action platforming, which can be a problem with touch-screen controls. Overall, a solid sequel with much-expanded content and gameplay. EDIT: After playing several more hours: the on-screen, touch controls are really difficult to work with, especially during some of the more-action oriented mini-games. I believe a controller is required for this game, although it wasn't for the first one.

Haven't finished the game yet, but I can tell it needs controller support. This same control scheme made the first one difficult in mobile platforms. It's hard to have a game that requires such precise timing and movement with touch controls. It's not really suited to the platform but it does the best it can—which is actually pretty good. Varied visual styles and gameplay make the game feel fresh all of the way through, even if the story is generic and the dialogue is dry. Stick to Switch and PC

The story is epic, not much could compete with it. It's a lengthy adventure, more adventure than rpg. A lot of the game is annoying since it feels like you need a controller but for sure it's doable with the virtual joystick. The game will surprise you towards the end when things get more complex, it's a time traveling mystery. Not an easy game but it is a great game so you just gotta be persistent. There are not a lot of hints or directions, you have to gather info by talking and search a lot.

loved this adventure. so many nods to games of my childhood! controls can be a bit wonky at times but so were the controls in the games of my childhood! sometimes a bit lost or "stuck" until I searched around enough to find the one little detail holding me up, but that's just like the games.... you get it? very nostalgic. loved the graphics. music was superb. great job guys.

Honestly the best mobile gaming experience I've ever had. Full of gaming references, funny dialogue, and it's a complete experience. Not using guides until the end game for collection took me 25 hours. Controls are the only thing I found lacking but that's always a limitation for a mobile game, and I don't feel this game does it any worse than the vast majority.

I was enjoying this game very much. I played through the first Evoland multiple times and enjoyed that one as well. Unfortunately I got to the part where you're assaulted by soldiers in the mountains and every single time the captain hits me (scripted to be a forced loss) the game crashes on me. So effectively I cannot proceed any further with the game. Leaving this 1-star review here until this issue is fixed. I really hope this is sorted out quickly because it was very fun until this happened.

Absolutely fantastic!!! Tons of fun references and callbacks to older games and other media, and high quality gameplay and graphics to support it all as well as the story, which is pretty great in and of itself! It reminds me of Chrono Trigger, and I think that's what the dev was going for. One of the best games on the Play Store, especially for the price!!!

This game is a blast for fans of classic games. It takes clear inspiration from Chrono Trigger, but is also influenced by games from across the history of gaming. I love it! I will add that there are a few bugs. The controls in the "Turing tests" are awkward on mobile, I don't like how the D-pad for those works. Also, there's a bug in the strategic battles, where the charged "punch" can knock an enemy into an ally's space, preventing both units from acting and being targeted.

Really enjoyed the game in spite of control issues and some uncaught exceptions. If you encounter one after clearing the time guardian as it fades to white for the next cut-scene, here's a temporary work-around I found on reddit. Close and reopen the game, then 'Set music+sound to zero. Beat stage and see cutscene. Turn on music+sound after.' Hope this helps Nick and anyone else who became stuck at this point like I was.

Dont pay for the game. If you get it for free with the gaming package, then it is alright. There are some glaring issues with the rendering. Lines across the whole screen whenever your character steps on certain parts of the map, areas that have multiple squares that are half or all the way colored bright lime green with no texture. Did you guys even test this game before releasing it?

Phenomenal rpg. I finished the game in about 24 hours and 100% completion with the help of a guide a few more hours after thag. Gorgeous graphics, interesting story, wonderful mash-up of many different gaming genres, and pop culture references galore make this probably the best mobile game I've ever played. My only complaint is the controls in some sections. Unless you want to feel a little frustrated in one or many sections when the play style switches up, get yourself a bluetooth controller.

Amazing game. Great story. Interactive. Many hours of gameplay. Sort of covers all the bases of different games. Has great references as well. It's cool seeing how everything in the different timelines connect. For the developer, there is a typo when I get the key of nature and Ceres speaks to me. The word "it" should be "is". There's also a couple of places where you can walk where you shouldn't. Most of the time it's one square, like in the sylph Forest. But there is one location that you can walk through a cliff and walk around more. It gets you no where and is pointless but it is there.

Really fun game. Great successor to the first, if you have played it. Some issues with control virtualization (it was coded for keyboard and mouse, and some things don't translate well to touch). I got it for $5, highly reccomended at that price. If you are going to pay the full $20 though, I would reccomend getting it on a different platform.

Got an error that crashed the game. "Unexpected exception" or something stupid like that. It was all of like 5 minutes into the game... I haven't played this for 3 years so I wanted to get back to it with a fresh start. It almost seems like I ran into an issue like this at first back then too, but I don't know. I'm using a PS4 controller with Bluetooth. Don't know if that would have anything to do with it or not. Literally the utmost annoying type of glitch a game can possibly have...

This game would probably be amazing with a controller but the on-sceen control pad is absolutely terrible to play with. It's a miracle I could get through the sky fights since I stuttered around everywhere and now the rhythm game part is practically impossible due to the interface. I played the first Evoland on PC with a controller and loved it. Seriously wait for a console release or play on PC unless you want to imbed your phone in the wall.

Amazing game! Great blend of RPG, action, adventure, and a bunch of other genres that I won't spoil. Story is a entertaining with a good sense of world building. Only thing that stops it from a full 5 stars is the bugs. There's a few times I'll be in the middle of a something and it'll crash. I'm stuck right now and can't continue because of a bug, which I'm hoping will be fixed. Other than that, best mobile game I've played.

Wound up playing for a couple of hours after I downloaded it. Reminds me of the good old days of NES and SNES RPGs. A Zelda nod for sure. In my opinion Miyamoto-sensei would approve. 3 stars because the controls are atrocious in fights against enemies & even worse in boss battles! If not for that I would have given 5 stars. I never played the first game. But this one is a lot of fun to play! Just what I was looking for! Keep up the great work! Please fix the controls. I know it can be done. 😊

Very fun game with a couple of problems. First, the on-screen interface for both the fighting game style and the rhythm game style minigames is absolutely atrocious. Second, the walking speed is inexplicably slow with no run button. From beginning to end, I was willing my character to just move faster. Each of those detracted from the experience enough to remove a star. That said, I did push through to 100% because it is a fun game, and I would still recommend it (especially with a controller).
