Feature request: enable displaying over other apps when a highlighted text selects English, with an option to head over to the app. Like a pop up, similar to Grammarly. Especially for tablet, thank you.

Absolutely superb. I write such a lot & such a fine detail. This Dictionary is superb, functionality so easy & quick & incredibly detailed, I have subsequently removed all other dictionaries from my phone. Certainly brilliant.

It is 3 years using this App! It never showed me any ad or prompt for subscription. It is fast and very user-friendly. I Also would like to Advise owners to change the profile because it doesn't clearly refer how this app is amazing! Guys ,this app is for u if you are trying to know English even more. It helped me , believe it , it'll help to. But I don't recommend it to you if you don't like fine stuffs. Uh

This has to be my favorite app of all time purely because it's exactly what it is: it's a dictionary. No ads, no premium, no bullhonkey. This is an app I've used for years and even if you aren't using it every day, you should have it installed. It's a bit more detailed than a simple search, and the results will always be instant.

The dropdown when searching a word should be limited to show 5 items at one time. The rest of the items can be seen using scroll. Typing and editing on the search should be easy as this near word list should not obscure the search bar and virtual keyboard. The active bookmark colour should be of a dark shade.

The English Wiktionary has an exhaustive and comprehensive set of definitions. It has entries for alternate spellings of a word- historical, British, common misspellings, eggcorns, etc. It has obsolete words, curse words, adult words, innuendo, slang.. you name it. Besides words, it has almost any idiom one can think of- including eggcorns like "for all intensive purposes". The app itself runs smoothly and is user friendly. You just can't trust certain computer generated pronunciations.

It's been so helpful, been using the app for years now. It's one of my go-to apps that just have to be on my desktop. No annoying ads, the voice function helps me with a few words I struggle to pronounce.

The dictionary was good until now. Anytime I search a word, it's blank and the app freezes. Please fix this glitch and I'll rate it 5 stars! I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and now the glitch is fixed. I'll change the rating from 1 star to 5 stars now. Thank you ✨

The app is great, it rich in words, and explains/defines different expessions clearly. These are few things that can be rectified 1. Please add more examples. I like when examples are concise. 2. Could you add a feature of serching through one's notes? Sometimes I recall of a note I took, but can't find, and there is no option to search.

WONDERFUL Such a wonderful app. I've been using it for years. Best part is that it is all offline. Has almost every single word you cab search. Very rarely do I need to go online. And another GREAT thing, you can bookmark the words, and view your search history too. Has the definition, etymology, synonyms, usage etc. PERFECT is the word for this. Thank you so much to the developer for this great app. Please make it available for ios too so that I can link my profile there.

I really love and appreciate this app. The bookmarking feature, The notes feature that helps you write your own notes under a word definition, Ease of access and lightweight. Really amazing. My only complaint is how we don't get examples of a word to see how it is used within context. The examples we do get are usually from old English novels or poems from centuries ago. It's really tiring. This is a very important thing. Please look into it please 🥺 There should ALWAYS be examples. Thank you.

Nice app with good definitions. One thing I hate about this app is that once we click the search button, it doesn't automatically highlight the word that is already there so that the ones we type will automatically replace them. We have to manually delete the one in the search bar before we can search for new word. It shouldn't be so. Change this app so that when we click the search button, the word already there is highlighted for easier search. "General average" is not in this dictionary.

the app is very useful and i find myself using it all the time. one thing i find tedious is when i check a definition of a word in the History section, after pressing back, I'm taken back to the top of the list instead of the exact part the word was. so i have to scroll all the way down to where that original word was if i want to get to the words above or below. I'd really appreciate it if it could be fixed!

The app is intuitive and easy to use right out of the box. It fulfills a valuable function when I'm using Samsung Internet browser on my device: To find the definition of an unknown word on a webpage, TapHold that word. (Word lights up and menu pop-up appears) Tap the three dots on the pop-up. Tap "English" instead of "Dictionary." Voila, the correct definition of (in my case) "solopsistic" appears.

Ok I look forward to this app over many others I have used. It's easy to navigate and the word prediction is imperative when not knowing exactly how to spell a word that i'm looking for. The worst part about this app is Random Word! It's random alright like 99 % of those that it chooses are so far-out and unnecessary and with nothing exciting in their content. Like math equation definitions or a German word for something stupid that I will never, ever use in real time

A TrackerControl app, that I side-loaded, shows that this app uses no trackers which is not the case with most apps that I have downloaded from Play Store. It deserves 5-stars for honesty, and it is useful for me when I am playing "CrossCraze" offline. There's another "English Dictionary" available that has over 20 trackers; I avoid that kind of app. This dictionary is straight forward, it has British or U.S. English language to choose for the words we want to look up. It's a keeper. 🙂

It's splendid. this was the first dictionary app I downloaded for my phone and I use it everyday (never thought I would) This is what an ideal offline dictionary should be - Convenient and fast - No annoying ads or lag - Bookmarks can be backed up Google Drive or any cloud. - Text to speech - Fully customizable I could go on, but you gotta try it yourself to see. It does what it says. The definitions and etymology are adequate enough too. I only wish it had more synonyms and antonyms.

This app offers almost everything you could want from a dictionary app: offline, multiple definitions, word etymology, synonyms, antonyms, and an ability to "favorite" words you want to remember. The app also has minimal permissions for its fxn; it doesn't ask to see your contacts or use your camera. I'd give this app five stars, if not for the fact that the function to read words aloud doesn't function. Edit: Problem was due to text-to-speech error, not app, so 5 stars for the app.

I really enjoy this dictionary, it is simple and easy to use. When I'm doing some personal reading on another app, after highlighting a particular word that I would like to have a better understanding of, my Android phone allows me to click "English" and it takes me straight to the app. A feature I've been using forever. Note: To make sure you have an clear understanding of what a word means, it would be good to look up the word using other dictionaries . Overall, great dictionary app!

Great standalone offline dictionary app. Does not require additional offline file download and it works right away. I like that the app shows up in the tab when long pressing text, it's a very convenient shortcut to lookup words. It also doesn't drain battery. I like that there are zero ads (I hope it remains that way). My only gripe is that the app is named "English", I would prefer it to say "Dictionary" but it's not a big deal.
