It was easy and quick. For emergency, I think this will be a good deal. I repayed my loan and just got another. It was easy as the first time. What I like s the option to break it up into two payments if I need to but what I like even better is paying it back in full with no interest charged other than the fee. Plus it helps your credit score so it's a win win.

I found Empower's presentation to be very professional and user-friendly. Other sites often looked so unprofessional, leaving my personal and bank information was not an option. My experience with Empower was, and still is, very positive. The app was clear, concise and just a few minutes from start to finish. Nice job, Empower - 5 out of 5 stars!

Awful service. It was working great until the last few days. For some reason, it stopped connecting. I tried deleting and reinstalling, I tried reconnecting from scratch, I even called my bank, who verified everything was OK on their end. I called Empower and told them what was going on and the steps I took to resolve it. The rep (Jan) said she sent me an email giving me the steps to fix the issue. The steps were the same as what I had already tried. Useless. No help at all.

If it wasn't for empower I'd be screwed a few times over by now. My partner lost their job and being able to grab from my next check with 0.00 apr as long as it's paid back is a lifesaver. Being able to split it with a fee is genius. Even when I'm no longer in a bind empower will still be around just in case. Edit: empower thrive has even brought my credit score up to the 600s. Great app.

Horrible customer service. If you ever have to relink a debit card you're SOL. I sent an email back in February requesting help to add my new debit card number. It is now JUNE and I still can't get my information updated. They will only contact you back via email and it's DAYS after you send it. When they do finally respond they respond with obvious answers on how to connect your card. They will also continue to charge a monthly fee even if you can't use the app.

I absolutely LOVE Empower! It was super easy to join. And all you need is a bank account where your direct deposit is delivered to! They easily verify your income by having you log into your bank account using plaid. This is the only platform I have located thusfar that uses Chime AND Cash app as qualifying banks! They also are one of the only apps I have found that allow you to use a VoiD number as most places require it to be a "real phone number" through a carrier and not through an app.

At first it was great but always issues with the subscription pay. First 3 months, they deferred the $8. Said it was on their end. I finally got frustrated and stopped using it after building up to almost $400 in borrowing power. THEN they debited the $8 2 wks afteri emailed support!! Absurd! They say it's an issue with my bank account 🙄 definitely disappointed in the customer service. All communication is via email. 😡😡

Pretty simple and fast, usually. I use empower when needed for emergency money. Well the last few times I have tried including today there is an issue like stating my account is not set up for transfers when I have used it before and no one knows how long it will take to be corrected. Very frustrating. UPDATE: 06-01-24 I have contacted Empower Customer service 3 more times and I am told pretty much too bad. Nothing can be done. Since Last year issue has not been fixed. Not my bank issue

The app is great and the Thrive account really helps. The subscription fee is reasonable at $8. However, everything is set to autopay and it works fine but the subscription fee will always show as overdue for almost 3 weeks which locks you out of your money. Trying to pay thr fee just results in unknown error every single time. They will pull the money you pay back with no issues but if you need to borrow it again, you can't because of this subscription fee error that has yet to be fixed.

The app definitely came in handy and was working perfectly for over a year now. Started off with $25, then got approved for $50, then $75, and eventually $150. It was fantastic! Until just recently when I paid back the $150 and then suddenly got dropped to a $75 advance - HALF of what I was getting previously. So, ultimately, I just lost $75 and I'm not sure why, as I always repay my advances and my regular income hasn't changed and has actually been slightly higher recently.

This was just as easy as can be! Once I linked my bank account in the Empower app, it immediately popped up offering me a $250 advance! I didn't have to transfer any money first as security either! What a blessing! I'm on a fixed income so it's difficult making ends meet. Empower has so many features & benefits! I'm trying to clean up my credit too & I'm on the way with the Empower team! I'm very happy with the app so far & definitely recommend Empower!

Thrive has really helped me when I needed it and boost my credit score! I'm I'm kinda disappointed because I've been making payments in. And they keep changing what I can borrow, even though I've made all the payments back and it's just really difficult. Sometimes and plus they, I don't know why they took like. I have a 40 cent outstanding balance and I don't understand that. But anyway, so far, there's still been doing OK. Accept this last time, thank you

No additional hoops to earn an advance, as long as you have a regular income. However, I'm giving this rating for the app's additional option to set up a savings account that you choose how much and when it'll automatically set aside it for you. For me though, mainly because it's not part of my typical, "go-to" banking apps, it allows me to forget about it, allowing the balance to grow -out of my site.

I will say that no other app will give you an easier time with getting set up, authorized, and connected to your bank. However, I hate that I have it set up to automatically repay the advance each paycheck, but instead of taking the money after it's in the bank, it tries to take it a day early and then tells me I'm "late". I've had my balance reduced because of this, something I have no control over. Otherwise it's been perfect.

I have had nothing but great experiences so far since using the Empower app. It's definitely a huge help in tough times when money runs a lil tight between paychecks. I started off at 50 $ advance and have already been moved up to $100 advance after only a few weeks of using the app. Best part, no credit checks, no hidden fees and the money is there within minutes. Definitely need to check it out if ur needing a few extra bucks till payday!!

I've had numerous issues requesting and receiving advances through the Empower mobile app. The issues I've had always involve the actual funds transfers. I have banked at the same institution for over 6 years and I only have 1 debit card for that account, but every time I would request a transfer, I would receive an error message stating that the debit card was NOT associated with that account. But props to the support team for working their magic behind the scene and fixing the issues.

You have to agree to pay $8 for a monthly subscription when you don't even know if you qualify for the services OR if they can only lend you $10. Also, they charge you a fee to deposit the money into your account AND they ask you for "tips", so if you really need money for an emergency, do not sign up to this app, because you're going to end in way more much debt than you were before. I thank God I learned to read ALL the "customer agreement" after a bad experience.

Very good app. Empower was the only one that I finally got a small loan from after downloading about 13 exact instant loan apps. Now after a few short months the loan amount and my credit score has went up tremendously . I'm happy. Thanks! You can also cancel at anytime if you decided to. Edit... After I used it for a while and had a credit line of $625., (I always paid back) but this last time immediately after paying it back I couldn't get back into my account or the app at all. Disappointed

Very easy to set up, I linked my bank account that I have direct deposit with. The system verified that I have regular income and approved me for 75$ the first time. And they only charged me a 4 dollar fee for repayment and give you a free trial during the first request. And they do charge a monthly fee of 14.99 the next time. But It's worth it for emergencies

This is a great app, I totally recommend it. But if you put more than one accounts attached, to send an advance to, it acts like it can't tell you have 2 separate accounts. I prefer advances to go to one bank account, but because it's an account I transfer money to instead of pay checks, empower won't let me use that account. I'd give the app 5 stars if it weren't for that but I don't think the devs strive for 5 stars anyways. Which is ok too. Great app!
