I really like this app, But... My issue is not the app itself but rather that some of the advertising that it allows take your phone hostage when you close the app. A full screen ad pops up and starts playing. You cannot stop it until it decides to allow you to do so. If I could stop them immediately AND if I could keep them from blaring out their audio, I would not mind. The creators of Aquamail cannot or will not fix this. I am therefore ending years of otherwise satisfied use of this app.

Pro user for a decade (or more even, lost track). Very flexible client, but a pop-up in the app indicated they're moving my lifetime pro full license to something grandfathered in and restricted, as in: not fully featured. Which will cost 30 bucks per year. I love the flexibility in configuring the UI, but FairEmail provides a fairly similar experience, with a pro purchase fee of six bucks and a heavy focus on privacy protection. I'll keep an eye on this for a bit, but I'll likely drop this.

I paid for the pro version but sorry I did. This app use to be good but it plain sucks. When I get one new email, the icon badge always shows 4 new emails. The app randomly just crashes. The search feature is terrible and the auto complete is just not well coded. I have someone with 2 email addresses (work & personal) and when I type fist few letters of the recipent's email I always get the work email even though I use the personal version exclusively. It should notice this and pick the last one I used. Ready to give up on this app. It is too much work to use it

Very customizable and is easy to set up. MAJOR drawback is when you switch phones. All of the old emails and attachments do not transfer and are lost forever on your phone. In my case 3 years of data just gone when I get a new phone. Thinking hard about a new app for this reason. Troubling, because from all I read all the developers have to do is change one switch and it would work. In response to developer, I understand imap and pop, I use pop and the data is on my phone not a server.

EDIT: Hotmail suddenly is not working on my outgoing email settings. I can sync inbox etc but sending an email I can't get it to work. Hopefully they get back to me soon! I need the ability to send emails!! Setup my email in a flash. The user customization is astounding. You can setup this app to do ANYTHING you want within reason. Its PERFECT.

Wow. SUBFOLDERS! After years of using the dead Touchdown, and the alive and well Nine Email for work and home, I can finally retire Touchdown to this more than worthy successor. This app will sync my subfolders of choice automatically and show me a unified view. I use server side rules to sort mail.. so subfolder sync is key. Very few email apps do this. (shame on you "Outlook"). Overall this app is fantastic.

I like Aquamail, and purchased the pro version for what I thought was a lifetime app. Unfortunately, they now are going to discontinue the pro version and bump everyone back to what is essentially the free version, unless you give them $30 every year. They are apparently even going to put a non-removable advertising signature line back in each email you send. I feel like I've been taken for a sucker. No thanks, there's too many good free or almost-free email programs out there.

After many years of primary use, then lately only as a backup to the standard gmail app, mostly for it's dark theme, I've given up. It's full page ads are ridiculous. I could handle the small ones within the app, but the full ones are too intrusive. I just uninstalled it, sadly, but am glad I did. Good riddance. I loved the original developer, though. He built a great product. Too bad to see it go the way it has.

Aquamail is a unique app that offers a number of excellent features. Unfortunately, it also presents recurring headaches concerning OAUTH and account stability. For some, not all, of my Microsoft 365 accounts, my login will fail and I will then be required to upgrade OAUTH. Then, a few weeks later, login will fail on those accounts, requiring that I delete them and then set them up again. A few weeks after that, the process will start over. Very very frustrating.

I actually like the application, but since I have the free version, there are ads. At first it was ok, BUT then they started running video ads,which chews up bandwidth, but it's even worse, because they have audio which means it disturbs others near me. Then it's hard to stop it. You never know when it will do it either (and it's always at the worst time). That was too much, and I'm uninstalling it. Moving to Blue Mail -no ads.

UPDATE: STOP THE VIDEO ADS! IT'S WRONG! The video ads have become more frequent and way too intrusive on my time, and very annoying due to sound and length. Entice me to your paid version with features rather than forcing my hand. Have tried the basic service for about 3 months and it has worked flawlessly. No hangups, operates efficiently and quickly, very intuitive. Plenty of features even in the basic version and the color coding is helpful. The best email app I've ever used!

I'd like an inbox where I can 'group by' senders email address. So I can take action on all emails from any of the grouped emails. Looking for support. I can open a ticket which doesn't seem right for a Use or Feature question. The app refers to a forum, but when I click on that it takes to FAQ and I see no forums??? Looking at the settings. Pretty underwhelming for an app that claims to be highly configurable. While changing font size is important, it should be standard, not bragging rights.

Full screen ads with a tiny x mark. Response to the dev: I don't have a problem with ads, but the fact you included a FULL SCREEN WITH A DELAYED TINY X BUTTON is utterly obnoxious and inteusive. Especially the fact that instant full screen ads like that are designed to get users to accidentally click on them. Use Spark instead, it's free with less annoying ads

Great app but gotten far too expensive! After 10 years I left for the free K-9 Mail which has 90% of AquaMails features for free, at least the ones I need (I do donate though). I paid for premium 10 years ago but that wasn't enough. I'll keep an eye on pricing and be back if it becomes reasonable again. AquaMail is clearly based the free and open source K-9 code base. Can't pay $30 for some added features..

Tried several ways of setting it up but with my email 'XFINITY' not being one of the listed types it wasn't very self explanatory. Long story short, I got it to download the headers for my email but not the body. I might have been able to fix it but with other choices available the practical thing to do was eliminate this and have a better outlook on life as a whole.

Erasing email on gmail or imap accounts often do not work anymore (messages reappear after closing and reopening)... please fix! EDIT: Problem solved with the support... but the two stars remain. Is it possible that in a considerably costly software, there was no provision for an alert regarding sync issues? With GMAIL and YAHOO servers?? And that the user has to seek a solution with support and then manually resolve it by re-saving a setting that was already saved previously???

Testing out as a replacement for the now dead Nine Mail app. While I'm still getting used to the differences, AquaMail is able to be my daily driver right away. Liking what I see so far. Things I'm not liking: 1) You can't have push delivery enabled and be able to have your entire message list available outside of smart folder (account message lists only show those within the push sync time window). 2) One signature per account. Used to sending different contact options depending on recipient.

I have been a pro user for many years. After downloading the app on my new device, I was prompted to pay a one-time fee to transfer my data from the old aqua to the new one. I agreed and made the payment. However, I was then asked to pay an additional $9.99, with the subscription fee increasing to $29.99 after a year. I issued a refund that was processed immediately without revoking my Pro benefits.

Latest update has CNet HTML emails not rendering properly - displays raw HTML code! Great mail reader especially with multiple accounts! I've paid for the app, and it is well worth it! The developers have made it REALLY easy to add the various accounts! Wish I could turn off that annoying scroll tab on the right side while reading messages. Sometimes the message text doesn't display in portrait mode (but does in landscape).

Not sure where the following comes from: saved a draft of an email (using the "save" option) and that draft is now gone - nowhere to be found. This isn't exactly the kind of behavior that one expects from an email managing app. I have used the Pro Version of Aquamail for several years now, but this means I can't trust it with important emails. What else will be lost without me ever knowing about it? And yes, I looked on the website, and that wasn't helpful.
