Edits, an Instagram app

Not ready for prime time. This app has some great functions and add-ons but when I spent an hour editing and then downloading a short reel half of the edits did not download with the reel. I was just playing with the app but had I been making a serious effort I would have been unhappy that I spent so much time adding stickers and other edits that didn't stay on the reel.

Haven't tried the green screen yet... But so far, capcuts still better. I can't even resize or crop a video in edits. The filters are just lacking. Every time I choose a font on a video, it doesn't save the font I want, or the style, so I keep having to go in and re choose everything every single time I want to type in a video. Like... Why? And when I go to find a video, my files are not alphabetical, so it takes me forever to find the file with the video I want. I hope they improve on this.

while I can do more with editing, it often times freezes up when I attempt to move something. I have to go out of editing and back in again, only to find the audio moved to spots I didn't put it. it also says that it will upload in a better quality but the video portions of my reels are all pixelated and grainy. definitely worse than when I post from Instagram itself. I hope to leave a better review soon because I know it only just launched and it won't be perfect from the start.

Since this is a new app, it's very good. has all of the same fonts Instagram has and added new fonts. it's very similar editing experience when editing reels on the Instagram app. my only complaint is it keeps freezing when I unpause my video. it doesn't freeze for very long, but it is still very annoying. the only long freeze is when my video turns into a black screen. then it goes back to normal. if the freezing does bother you, regular Instagram editing is much better.

It's great for some compositions, but it seems to lack the capability to process multiple texts or captions. I tried inputting the text for one of my videos and the video comes out glitching unfortunately and wont run smooth. This app has great potential though.

Hey, Meta. Not sure if you rushed or it's something else, but this app needs more work. It's very minimal editor - you literally can't do much in there. Ai options are bad, and don't do much. Effects are very basic. and etc. Compare to other editors - this one is lacking big time so far. Still needs work. I'll upload it in few months again - and check if it got any better.

Instagram definitely made the editing process ALOT smoother. Likes: Everything is pretty easy to use. I like that the reels you save on IG you can find in Edits along with the templates and sounds. Dislikes: The only way to save/download your work is to "Export," which only gives you 2 options to share to Facebook or Instagram. This leaves the creator in the position to not have ANY access to their work outside of the software, WHICH IS A NIGHTMARE! Especially when the app is having issues.

I spent way too much time putting together a simple reel on here when I can easily create an amazing reel on Instagram and TikTok! Once I finished, it would not export! SMH! I tried 4 X's with different quality uploads but it won't work. Super frustrating! It gets stuck at 59% for a very long time. I tried 4 X's with different quality uploads but it won't work. Felt forced to use this because Instagram was not working at ALL to make a reel. Still had some issues, after I had several clips added it lagged BAD and I had to walk away from my phone for a few minutes every time I did ANYTHING. and I don't like that since features are gone from what I used on insta. When I uploaded my video FROM EDIT using their link my video was so glitchy!!! Going to look for a 3rd party app that actually works. So irritated at how much time this wasted today.

I used this app to do a whole school project, and not only is it great for reels it's also just a nice all in one recording and editing software - it's nice not having to switch between apps or devices to shoot, organize, and edit clips - the only issues I have are the 10 minutes time limit on how long your video can be if you want to export it, and that it was a little glitchy just a few times.

Overall, it's not bad. Could use some more improvements and features like a speed curve added to clips. There bugs here and there like your added sound going mute after editing a clip and needing to save/go back into the edit to get it back. Also get a random bug with some clips/filter that causes a flicker/static only once the video is downloaded but won't show it mid-edit.

Can't export the video. It's great for creating and very easy to use, but useless if you can't save the finished project or post it. It gets to 59% and then never finishes. I created a project and then had to create it all over again in another app. Hopefully they will fix this, but I'm using something else for now.

Pretty good editing experience (text editing really needs improvement & more options for transitions), but what good is it to do aaaaaaall that work and then the export is glitchy?? I can never rely on Meta products to work when I really need them. They want businesses and creators to use their products, but I wasted 2 hours of my time making a great edit, only for the video to glitch out once exporting to my gallery *and* to the Instagram app. I'll stick to giving Abode $1k/year.

(Android) Performance-wise it behaves most of the time, but some media's playback feels different in the app. My biggest disappointment is the lack of auto captioning for languages beyond English. I get that the app is new and beta, but for a global-facing Meta to release this with too minimal of accessibility features is simply embarrassing. Fixes need to be made soon.

Honestly, I love this app. It is simpler than others. With that being said, while it looks great and performance great, there are some features that are needed that it simply doesn't have like background blur/replace. Different filters can be added and transitions. etc. but other than that I have good view and know it has much potential for editing. taking up wayyyy too much space.

Pros: I actually liked this app, very user friendly, easy to use, generates captions (my editing app wants me to pay to generate captions), with different styles, good amount of transitions. Cons: 1. on my third video it started exporting all videos with a consistent glitch throughout the video 2. can NOT reverse a video (say you want to make your own boomerang - well, ya can't 3. You can't preview a video before you add it - hard to choose the right one 4. You can not control the audio speed

Still getting my feet wet with the app but I am enjoying it so far. I'm going to take some time to test out all the features. (Edit) So after playing with the app I definitely feel like it needs to implement more features that already exist in Instagram's native editor. As well as, sometimes when I export a video it comes out very glitchy and unusable. I've even tried to recreate the same video and the same issue happen. Not sure why. Decent app, just needs some work.
