Love the bank, hate the app. Someone would think with all the updates they're doing at night that this app would be performing at peak ability. I can't log in. In this technological era, this is a weak link.

Every time I try to access my account after a certain time it just refuses to let me log in. Saying there's a problem and it's every night past a certain time. It's ridiculous that you can't view your account at all times while other banks do with no issues. Considering switching banks at this point.

It looks like I am not the only one having problem with tha app. Camera doesn't focus on the check and for this reason the app crashes while trying to take a shot of the check. Customer service's notified many times. I would like to contact bank's IT support team, but they are invisible as far as there's no direct way to contact them.

Overall a good app. Simple and functional. Does what I need it to do such as deposit checks, make payments and transfer money. You can even use it to notify your bank when your in another country, so you can use your card. That's an especially useful function when the teller messes up and you find out your card won't work once you arive in said country. 😅 The only complaint I have is that it seems to have the fingerprint functionality for login but it hasn't worked on my Oneplus 6t.

I dont really have a problem with the app but it can still can be improved. They don't have a feature where I can temp/activate my card back. They only have the report card lost or stolen. The layout of viewing the accounts can be improved. Where there is an option to expand, compact or total. What it is currently only expand where I see both whatever account I have. If they have the compact where I can view one account at at time that would be nice. And the total between all account.

This is the worst and slowest app EVER. I had Eastern bank since 2009 and just since 2018 and the changeover to new mobile app I have closed my other accounts and will most likely close last. Horrible app. So slow and completely useless. I login and it crashes before loading anything. It's faster to drive to an Eastern bank and check balance before it actually shows up on the app EVEN ON WIFI

This app is probably one of the worst financial apps I've come across. I've been banking with them for 35 plus years and stuck with them now. If it's not too late for you to turn back now, switch banks. The camera doesn't always work properly when depositing and if you deposit a check more than once of the same amount it declines the deposit (paycheck is always the same every month) you have to go to the bank.

It is incredible to me that in 2023, a mobile banking app can lack so much functionality. Would you like a statement for your account? Not available - you can only get a paper statement in the mail. Would you like to make a payment? Nope, can't do that either. What's the balance of your mortgage escrow account? Can't check. Terrible app, mediocre bank, wouldn't be using them at all if they hadn't purchased my mortgage. You have better options.

I have had the Eastern Bank app for years now. Over the past week I have been unable to log in to my account. This is absolutely ridiculous for me not to be able to have access to my banking information. I have sent countless messages every time the app crashes upon login. Nothing has been done to fix this. Considering switching banks at this point.

I use this app frequently. However, I'm never able to use the mobile chrck deposit feature as the app always freezes after taking a photo of the front side of my check. There was only one occurrence where I was able to mobile deposit a check and that was a few years ago. Ever since, all my attempts are unsuccessful; the app freezes. My app is up-to-date and the OS on my android is as well.

Update 1.24.24: Still an awful app. Stalls out and buffers all the time so I can't pay bills on time. Just missed a CC payment because of it. Charged $30. When I schedule transfers I see no confirmation of doing so. Not good when someone needs to make sure money is appropriated to certain institutions in timely fashion in order to avoid penalty or worse. App also apparently doesn't work at night (far too often) because they're always servicing it etc.. Update: Dumping this bank.

Mobile deposit: if you choose the account first, the amount field becomes very difficult to use. You can't see what you're entering for an amount. Also, when taking the picture, the rectangle is vertical, while the device is horizontal, so to fit the entire check the phone has to be about 18 inches above the check. This app used to work so well.

New version turns on the flashlight when taking pictures of a check for mobile deposit (with a button in the corner to turn it off)! This really helps a lot. My only real gripe anymore is that the app takes a while to load on my Galaxy S7. Once it's going and signed in, things work pretty smoothly. (The back button issue referred to in the response was quietly fixed in the update after I posted that, before I got a chance to get in touch with them.)

It's just okay. Eastern bank doesn't show pending transactions like every other bank. No ability to turn your debit card off and on like my other banks, you have to completely cancel it if you can't find it. The deposit check feature isn't always good. I've been charged $30 after they deposited a check, they then took it back and told me they were unable to read it. Deposits don't show as pending and right now the app is useless and not working at all. I'm going to uninstall and try to reinstall

Upon opening my Eastern Bank checking acct., I shortly thereafter downloaded the bank app. Overall, it works fine. However, as of (3) days ago, the Zelle feature is misfunctioning. I'm only able to get to the "Send / Request Split" screen. When I select, "Send," the processing circle just keeps spinning and doesn't connect in order to complete a "Send" transfer. I'd deeply appreciate a resolution to this issue. Otherwise, I'll have to use the website for future Zelle transfers.

Edited: after 25 minutes of futzing, mobile check deposit works again. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work. Restarting did not work. Uninstalling, restarting, and then reinstalling did correct things. Orig:This was a solid app for years. Apparently it broke in a recent update. I can no longer use biometrics to log in, and I can't use the app to make remote deposits, which is the key feature of the app. Any time I try, the app crashes after I take the second photo of the check. Boo.

When this app works it's good. Idk what they did, but after a recent update it won't log in half of the time. I used to be able to transfer money between accounts on the fly. Now it's a toss up if the darn thing will let me log in. I don't know if it was an android update, or an update for the app itself that screwed everything up. Either way, I wish they just left things alone.
