Really disappointed with the new update. I use your app to learn German, and selecting the words (or any part of the text) in the previous version of the app opened a small 'on hover' menu with the 'translate' button that allowed me to instantly translate the unknown words and parts of text that I didn't understand. However, the new update does not allow me to do that and I have to exit the app and copy the text to translator app which is really frustrating and time consuming.

I like the content but it's really annoying to watch the news when the view mode goes from regular to full screen mode back and forth if I slightly move my phone (and I'm watching the news in public transport). I have turned off autorotation on my phone for a reason. Please fix this! It should work on button, not automatically.

App used to be very good. 1 year ago i was even able to open app to download the news and read articles offline later on (funkloch train rides). New design makes each news article take tens of seconds to load. Now it completely gave up and stops loading news articles. When i open the app i stare into the blank and the blank abyss stares back at me.

The content is amazingly produce, but the does not let me choose or segment the categories of content I'd like to see first, which means I have browse to the whole app before getting to my most relevant news. That is also true for the app's notifications, which makes the app's functionalities being way worse than the previous Whatsapp service provided. Also, the content is language based, so it differentiate the content to show based on the app's selected language (singular).

The app is unfortunately full of bugs. Most of the time, notifications will open a white empty page, videos keep pausing every half second (they're totally unviewable), sometimes articles will reload causing the scroll to reset, and if the connection is poor the reset article won't open up anymore. It's one of the poorest apps I've ever used.

DW is a good source of German news for international expats. But the app has some limitations and defects. For example one cannot search for a news article from 2019! The only search options are all media or within certain time frame. Also some times the older videos don't play or stop playing after a few seconds with error code 233404. Edit: Downgrading the rating for lack of improvements even after years.

Not impressed. When I swipe the screen up or down I should expect it to easily scroll without any problems. Now the screen only scrolls an inch or two at a time and stops like it's suddenly hit a brick wall. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times. And, of course, all the bookmarks I was saving within the app are gone. I guess I should never trust an app to bookmark stuff; use an internet browser instead. Or just don't bother using the app.

The glitchiest app I have ever encountered. Used to work fine before the last update. Now, it crashes upon starting the app more than half the time. Most articles don't load, with an error message appearing. Crashes if you scroll down and can't even exit the app, having to force close it every time. Tried reinstalling it, nothing changed. It's just ridiculously bad.

One could 'add to favourite' in previous versions (it's shown in the top right corner of the images above☝🏽) which was super convenient for saving articles of special interest. For some reason, that feature is absent is the recent ( and supposedly upgraded) version of the app. An upgrade shouldn't removed such a feature, but somehow that's the case now. Would be nice to have that feature back .

First the good: the content is still excellent. Now the bad: the latest update turned what was an excellent app into a terrible one. Content takes longer to load, the audio quality is worse (all top end treble was removed, it now sounds like they are talking through a tube), the feature that allowed to go back up to 30 minutes in time when viewing their live stream is gone, live stream will suddenly just stop for no reason, random crashes, the page layout is not user friendly.... Please fix!

After the latest update I have to say that this app has gotten really bad. The previous version was easy to navigate and scroll... no fuss at all. Plain and simple... This new updated version crashes at least once before being able to open it. The news overview tries to cram everything together. Scrolling is dificult as it either stalls or simply jumps to the right section as if I were swiping... Why has this been updated at all if it was working just fine? I see no improvement at all!

After the latest update, the dw app got worse. The biggest issue I found is that the live TV gets stuck on one image and then only the sound works. Also, the loading time of home pages and articles is extremely slow. I'm using it on Android. Hope these issues will be fixed soon, because content wise this is a great source of information. Thank you.

The newest app gives me all the resistance it has in its power to prevent me from catching up. Continuously reloading pages once they just flashed on the screen or not loading any content at all are 98% of the interaction i have with this application. The other 2% it actually works acceptable, still tediously slow in comparison with the previous version. DW can you please ensure a more stable news experience for your readers, your content is great and your previous app was too.

Nov 24, 2022: per develp'r. instructions,uninstalled and reinstalled - not worth a hoot! Video still stops completley; loads of aggravating ads. Uninstalling. Loaded Update of Nov. 14 and no longer plays correctly - videos stop, frequent breaks in the sound; nothing but problems now. Very frustrating; will remove app. Sad to end this channel. Nov. 19, 2022 Excellent news reporting. Wish it had an onscreen volume control and go-dark option for listening only in the dark and to save battery life.

There's an old adage that says, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." This was an excellent app until the last two updates. Now it crashes frequently when accessing it, it's literally "jumpy", advancing to the next section or page as if by an unseen hand. It "freezes" for no apparent reason, and has to be rebooted. On one memorable occasion, I had to shut the phone down and restart it. This is a new phone, with only 10% of memory used. What was once an excellent app is now garbage.

The latest English update stops the app from loading properly any content in any area. Live TV has never worked. It I want to see the news, I have to switch languages to Deutsch, which runs an older and more functional version of DW. I used to love seeing a Eurocentric news source with good funding and views, but unfortunately I cannot utilize it successfully any longer.
