More About Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee

Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee is a Rogue-Like Dungeon-Defense game in which you and your team of heroes must protect the generator of your crashed ship while exploring an ever-expanding dungeon, all while facing waves of monsters and special events as you try to find your way out. The Apogee Edition of Dungeon Of The Endless includes the full game and five DLCs.
WHAT’S BEHIND THE DOOR?

A few hundred condemned criminals were being shipped to the Auriga system on board the prison hulk “Success”. While this was presented as a chance to earn back their place in society by working hard for the common good, they understood that in fact they would be slave labour, sent to colonize an unexplored planet. All they knew about Auriga Prime was what the probes told them: it had water, temperate zones, plant life, and plenty of metals in the crust.

In fact, the planet Auriga once hosted a major settlement of the galaxy-travelling ancestors known as the Endless. In addition, the planet was still orbited by a functioning (and well cloaked) defensive system, which sprang eagerly to life upon the arrival of the Success. Within a few minutes, the ship was nothing but a few large chunks of metal falling toward the planet.

Luckily, every set of holding cells also functioned as an escape pod, so the ship let itself disintegrate and the surviving prisoners fell bruised but (temporarily) alive and (momentarily) safe to the planet below. Safe, that is, until they realized that they had crashed through some sort of Endless facility, all the way down to a sub-basement so deep and ancient it might as well be called a dungeon…

The game so far has been pretty entertaining... Except for the crashes. When the game crashes, you lose all progress on the current level. This happens even if you save and quit frequently. It's bad enough that I've all but given up and will soon uninstall the game. I'm on a pixel 7 for what that's worth.

This game is really interesting I just wish there was a way to view the whole map or have there not be as many enemies because each time I finish one level all the rooms I didn't know where there open and I get swormed by all the ones that remain and so i would like to be able to see where they are so i can kill them before the end of the level or a faster way to get the characters I picked to get stronger faster and get better equipment since even on super easy I still get defeated

Neat retro graphics. Very innovative and unique gameplay style. Thing is, for me personally, I can't really wrap my brain around it. I had no idea what to even do until I watched a YouTuber that I keep up with play it. Now, I have a general idea, but I still can't even make it past floor 1. I think I'd be able to get into it more if it had controller support. Maybe the left stick controls a cursor. That way, I can see my situation a little better projecting it on a TV screen rather than a phone.

I swear this game is unbeatable! It's too hard, and death in this game is unforgiving. Most of the time I can't even pass the first floor because too many enemies keep spawning at once after I open a certain amount of doors. Not to mention, I'm not getting any turret based towers. The only towers I can afford are ones that only generate food. And some of the starting characters suck, either they are too slow, or too weak to do enough dmg. It's fustrating! Pls devs, the game needs balance..

Really fun, survival horror-esc rogue-like is great, but the constant crashes are such a pain for a game you're charging money for, this would be a 5* game if it wasn't for the crashes constantly sending you back to the beginning of the floor, it's like you're not only trying to strategize how to make it to the exit, but also playing against the clock before the game crashes and you have to start all over again, it's super frustrating

Good but with Significant Flaws - I would recommend getting this on computer. Even with a giant Pixel6Pro screen hitting buttons correctly is a chore. The game is great, I've been sucked in to playing for hours straight, but it has flaws. Different bugs here and there, Ex. Beast Tamer will stop the minion movement so they freeze in place (which essentially ends your run). Pretty significant battery drain. Did I mention how hard it is to tap correctly? So all in all, not the best on mobile.

Game itself is very good but there is like a 30% per floor that the game will crash at least once so you very frequently lose progress. On top of that, the save and quit function also has a high chance of failing to save properly, so you can't even rely on that to save your floor progress. Would've bought the game when my play pass sub was over, but definitely not in this state.

The controls are difficult. One time i managed to turn a room off but i couldn't turn it back on and then enemies swarmed in and i died.(yes ik long pressing turns the rooms on...) It's just a really disappointing game from this developer and no matter how hard i try to love it, it turns out bad. And the exit doesn't work on my version. I have downloaded it and uninstalled it half a dozen times before writing this review.

Has all of the great features of the old game. Love the music love the original artwork nothing to complain about there. I do find the controls to be a little clunky. It's hard to click on the little dots to build turrets and other tactical devices. To use a characters ability you have to make sure you only select them which means you have to deselect everyone else but you can only do that if you already have them selected. I know that sounds confusing but that's kind of the point. It's tricky.

The gameplay is far too good for me to rate it lower than three, but the random crashing stops it from being higher. This is a phenomenal genre mixing game that has been a bit of an obsession for me, but I regrettably have to suggest that anyone interested in this game should probably play the PC version. This mobile adaption needs some stability fixes.

The game looks like it's a faithful port of the PC version and I enjoyed that quite a bit. The only complaint I have is how darn small all the text and menus are on a phone screen. If it has an option to make the text/UI bigger then I for sure haven't found it. Going to try it on a tablet at some point and that might "fix" it but it's still giving me eye strain trying to read upgrade text on a smartphone. Seems like a rather large oversight for a mobile port.

Endless Dungeon is truly a one-of-a-kind game. It takes some time to get the feel of the game; there's a pretty stiff learning curve that the tutorial does little to bridge. However, with a little trial and error (or Google searches, in my case) you'll be surging up through this game's many many floors. My one beef is that the font on most things is small enough to make reading a challenge on Galaxy s21 Ultra. Not enough to lose this game's perfect rafting, however. Check it out! 👍

I'm a big fan of this game on PC, and was very excited for this to come to mobile. First impressions are good, and the controls work well in some areas, and feel weird in others. I've definitely almost wiped once already by forgetting that you need to double tap to move every Hero at once, and a dedicated "select all" would be cool as an option. My only other gripe, is the resolution and UI scaling, please add the ability to enlarge text soon. Gameplay is excellent.

I really like this game. Played it a lot on PC. Issue is, game keeps crashing. It's random. Sometimes it crashes a couple minutes into a floor and some times I can get a couple floors done before the crash. After the crash I then have to start a floor all over. In the later floors that's a good 15 to 30 minutes of game play lost. At this point it's a waste of time. Please resolve the crashing so I can play one of my favorite games on the go. With 100+ hours on PC version, this is just... alright. Still needs a lot of love. The UI and the smoothness are the biggest offenders right now. The buttons need to be 15% bigger and the responsiveness needs to be faster. There is a slight delay when you drag the map around. That needs to be fixed first. Also the hero HP bars are microscopically thin. The ability to zoom in and out (outside of the full zoom-out where you see the whole map) would help with navigating the dungeon. Love u Amp ❤️

So far, it's awesome. Kind of difficult, (even at the lower difficulty selections), but feels very rewarding when you make it to the next floor. Has that "One more game" kind of vibe when you lose, too. Plenty of random occurrences, and random map generation makes it infinitely replayable. Downside is that the tutorial is bare bones, and has a steep learning curve. Overall, great game. Worth the money if you enjoy strategy games.

Bought this game on the computer years back & loved it! Only beat it a couple times, but the challenge is to overcome and learn your characters movements and skills. So thrilled its on Play Pass! All expansions already unlocked. No store. With over 100 games downloaded to my phone. This is by far my favorite. If you can get past the pixelated graphics. You'll love this strategy enveloped gem. Protect the crytal!

Absolutely incredible. Thought about getting it on PC, but finding it's built for mobile now is SO awesome. Almost breathtaking how good it plays - enemy and character reactions are very well programmed. Excellent tower defense and rogue-like gameplay with surprisingly excellent strategy elements. This game ticks all the boxes for me - well animated, fun gameplay, clever & unique mechanics, SMOOTH AI, and incredibly challenging. Awesome, awesome port, guys! It's pretty much flawless!

I want to rate this game higher. It is a fun and interesting game once you get the hang of the controls and resource/character management. Frequent crashes make this game frustrating to play. Unless you are performing frequent save/quits, when a crash inevitably happens you will be reverted the the starting room on the furthest floor you've reached. On top of that, the floor is re-randomized upon continuing so any items or heroes obtained prior to a crash will be lost. -S24U

So I was really liking this game then a big came up where I can't pick up the crystal to bring back to Crystal room to advance, so stuck on the first floor. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, saving and restarting, starting new games. Was looking forward to diving into this game further but now it unplayable. If anyone knows a fixed love to hear it
