I'm completely unable to use the app.. the moment I open it, it pops up an ad to get the full version subscription while saying I also have the option for basic but won't let me close the ad. So it's basically trying to force me to get the subscription which is $30/month. That's incredibly overpriced and ridiculous. It went from a good app to a scam

I downloaded this app to recover a very recently lost video. Like, I accidentally deleted barely an hour ago. When I did the deep scan it legit just showed me all the pictures I still have on my phone, same with videos. It didn't recover a single missing thing. I also noticed it took a video of mine & converted it to a png preview? Even though it's a video? The app isn't total garbage, but I'm extremely dissatisfied with the fact it did not do what it said it does in the slightest.

Misleading App, when you open the app you get notifications to purchase before getting started. If you chose not to purchase, well you basically have an app that does nothing for you. When you select the deep scan options, amazingly this app found so many items that should be removed from videos, pictures, and much more. However to access this deep scan option that mysteriously found items important enough to delete, you will need to have a purchase option in place so it charges after trial.

Frustrated. Accidentally deleted a whole text conversation that was very important. Had this on my phone from way back, so free trial was up. Pulled the trigger on the $30 upcharge and..... Nothing. No text messages at all. Audio, video, and pictures that look like they skimmed the memory buffer from recent surfing. "If we can't recover the files, nobody can" Somebody tell my why this app is not false advertising. Can I get my money back?

I've been using this app for a while now and I considered it the best and most important app on my phone until today. I inadvertently deleted a folder that probably had 60 or so files, while updating another app. I found 11 of the files in Dumpster and was able to recover but all the others do not show up. It's been over 10 hours and the app is " Still Processing" a folder. The whole point of getting this app was to help recover deleted files in error and it didn't work when I really needed😭

Some reviewers just don't understand how an app like this works. In a nutshell, you shouldn't go in thinking it's absolutely going to restore all of your deleted files...it WILL TRY, just don't expect magic. If there aren't any duplicate images available, your just out of luck. HOWEVER, there's a good chance there ARE and if so, this app WILL find them. It's also a privacy tool bc it shows all images still on your phone from Twitter, web, apps, etc. I just wish I could turn off the dumpster.

Wow!! What a life saver! I tried literally every possible way to recover a few deleted images, and nothing! I hooked my phone up to different computers, downloaded tons of software, etc. Nothing worked UNTIL as a last resort I looked for image recovery apps. I downloaded this one, and IT WORKS! I didn't have my phone synced, but now I do. I'm so grateful that I'm definitely paying for at least one month of this (I used the free trial).

Beats competition by recovering more file types and a large time range set by user. Doesn't take alot of space but can expand. Annoying UI due to fault of the device OS: recoverable, deleted files are sorted in chronological batches, but my phone deletes larger numbers >20, in smaller nonsensical batches. In terms of privacy, TOS, and permissions, doesn't ask for too much, but Facebook is in the ad loop. Recovering multiple file folders/batches takes longer as you have to do them individually.

I just took a video of something, and it played back well. An hour later, refused to play. I cleard some files on my phone, and the video didn't save to google, like it should have. I installed this app to try and recover this video. It did not work, and the video wasn't there (or it was but wouldn't play). However, I did see a lot of other files that deleted, that I saved to google. There were also images I did NOT take. So, it did work, but failed at recovering the video I wanted to recover.

Edit: Google promptly refunded the full purchase price. Also, Customer Service at Dumpster contacted me immediately. They seem to have been genuinely concerned about my issues. They also offered to refund my purchase price. So, my original 1star has been upgraded to 3stars. The product still did not give me the results I had hoped for, but their Customer Service department has done their job well. Original: I downloaded this app at a very stressful time when I had just lost hundreds of pictures. I tried the app, was not satisfied with the results, then moved on to another software that worked for me. I actually tried a few apps before I found the right one for me. Today I have been charged $29.99 for a month of subscription service. I do not remember saying yes to a subscription! I have reviewed the details of the About this app section, and I do not see anything about subscription! Please refund my money! I have already unsubscribed, but the charge is already taken from my account. Shame on you!

Had used this app for around 2 years, allowed me to set a time for how long "deleted" photos are retained until they are removed, and could easily be reviewed and recovered if needed. After a recent update, my phone started slowing down and freezing, and then restarting constantly. I found out after a few days that the Dumpster app had been taking up 826MB of RAM. After I uninstalled it, there are no longer any issues, not sure why as it was working fine till that update, this is on an LG G5.

This app has been a life saver many times. And yet I can give it 1 star only. The reason? It's a spy! I don't know what kind of data it sends out if it's not restricted but it sends a constant stream of data to Facebook (or receives ad data from them). I have it "caged" in by a firewall but I can see in the logs the countless attempts to access the internet. So be aware! Thinking of deleting this garbage and put it in the dumpster!

I only needed this to recover one file that I thought was on my laptop, so I can't attest to all the apps features. However it was surprisingly simple to recover said file. The user interface looks nice and it's easy to navigate. It showed files deleted up to three years ago, which was probably when I got my SD card. It seems as though no video nor image is ever truly deleted, which can be a good or bad thing.

Very disappointing. One, I inserted all SD cards & app would only go back to mid-Aug 2018. The one short video I'm wanting to recover is from earlier in that same month on 1 of drives. Two, every time I open app I get hit with ads & have to address them or go back out of app & re-enter. Three, emptying current items in the app to free up space only lists all of them as "videos" but most items are photos. Why can't I see each and why I can't I choose what to delete? Thanks.

Ad within 5 seconds of opening, and the app doesn't work. I hadn't even taken a single action before an ad came up. That in itself is enough reason for a 1-star. The so called "deep scan" doesn't even appear to do anything. It instantly returns no results, as does the recycle bin. When infact I know the files are there. I used a different app and get the results I was expecting.

Update 7/29/19 Quit working! Update today..6/12/18. Having same problem as others. It's now quickly draining my battery.. Will probably have to stop or uninstall it. Previously..Simple to use. GONE IS THAT SINKING FEELING you get when you accidentally delete something . The app allows you to undelete which functions the same as a computer. I put it on all my devices, my phone and my tablets. Should come standard. Thank you for making it free.

Ok so, wasn't sure anything was going to work. I needed to recover some videos for work (about 30 gb worth) and I was freaking out. I just got a new phone that doesn't have an SD card. I deleted them from Google photos, because I've never had an issue with that before. Apparently though with the Oneplus 7 if you do that it's deleted from your phone. Start panic mode. I found a video YouTube suggesting this app, and thank the gods I found it. Everything has been restored. Super easy to use!

The app works like it's supposed to, however It couldn't recover a certain photo I was looking for. Because of this, I wanted to cancel my premium subscription and get a refund, but the thing is, it doesn't show up in the subscriptions in the Google Play app. So I contacted them, and they took way too long and asked if I provided more info, which I did, and three emails. Still no response. I honestly gotta say don't get this app because it's poor customer service but just sketchy in general

But now it uses up my large battery in a matter of a couple hours because it's in the background. I'll redownload once this is fixed EDIT: after redownloading this at the request of the developer, I can say that this is now worse than it was over 5 years ago. It used to be free for pretty much all the features, but now asks you to buy the Pro version for $30 PER MONTH, and it also has ads. Definitely worse than my original 2 star rating.

Update, the data usage issue was figured out. I had a previous version where the cloud feature turned itself on without my permission and ended up using 8Gb of data. Turned off the cloud service. Now the issue I'm having is stuff I'm purposefully deleting isn't ending up in the dumpster. However, the app is taking it upon itself to fill up with pictures and videos I never deleted. The Dumpster app is "garbage" now. Uninstall.
