Been a big fan of Doom for a long time. This is a great port for some quick demon slaying. If it had controller support, it would be 5 stars without hesitation. Controls are still usable, it just gets frustrating during intense moments. On my Chromebook, the wasd keys work for movement, but no keys are mapped for aiming or shooting. It's actually more convenient to play on my phone. Overall a great port and still a fun game after all these years. Edit: Bluetooth controller support added, 5 stars

Can't believe they actually got around to fixing the game. A great improvement overall. All the other problems I had were fixed. The new interface is strange. Okay for the most part but it lacks the aesthetic the old one had. Still gets the job done. However, all the weapon models are slightly off to the right. I couldn't tell before but I can now. Please fix.

Best mobile Doom experience but is tainted with bad touch controls. PLEASE give us the option to customize touch controls with the ability to make them completely invisible on screen, also be able to tap to shoot anywhere on the right side of the screen instead of a fixed shoot button and the ability to tap anywhere on the left side of the screen to activate things like doors and switches instead of a fixed button. This can be a much better experience if we had customization options

Overall, the ports for both this and Doom II are great, as far as mobile ports go. They run well, you've got all sorts of add-ons to play, and it looks great. My only issue is that you can't adjust the controls outside of changing sensitivity. The controls aren't horrible, but they would be much better if I could move around and alter the size of the buttons.

It was pretty good The few problems I did have where the controls. When you first play the game, they feel super wonky, but when you play more you get used to them. I also encountered a bug that happened way more times that I would have been fine with where the joystick part of the screen merges with the aim and shoot part seemingly at random. This bug lead me to quite a few unfair deaths. Overall its doom, and it's on your phone.

Very good, but NEEDS better controller/key mapping support. Having played most of the doom games out there, this rendition definitely holds up nicely...With a few caviots. Control over your experience is incredibly limited. As somewhat of a power user, I enjoy being able to have fine control over my experience through tweaking settings: graphical, gameplay and otherwise. When I just want to relax, I want to be able to set a controller profile, max my settings and go, both things absent here.

Same exact port as the Switch (for better or worse) except here the controls are incredibly floaty and inconsistent. Aiming is a struggle and is more responsive to "flicking" the camera, but this doesn't feel natural. Sensitivity settings are tied to both movement and aiming, which kinda sucks. Having the option to adjust each axis separately would be nice. BNET login thing is really silly, but it's not the worst thing in the world if you know your login.

Great, classic experience held back by finicky touch controls. I much prefer to play DOOM on my phone with an attached controller, such as a Razer Kishi or Backbone. With a controller, however, the experience is greatly improved. The only thing I'm really wishing for is some longer aspect ratios. Phones are getting 'taller' and it'd be awesome to take advantage of the extra screen space. All petty issues aside, great port and a bona fide classic.

This game is great, just one thing that I'd love, more customizable options. Like being able to move around the joystick and shoot button, making the joystick stay in place, and changing the sizes of them. Another thing that could be added is, multiplayer. Multiplayer is essential when it comes to doom, it doesn't need to be added, but I'd be an insane edition. Thank you for spending time to read this, have a good rest of your day.

The game doesn't lag, runs well, doesn't drain my battery incredibly fast. I had a lot of fun playing it and didn't see any problems. A lot of people are complaining about having to log in or create an account but you just have to enter an email address and you're done forever. My only complaint is you shoot snd aim with the same part of the screen making aiming difficult at times.

The biggest flaw of this port is the touch controls, play it with an OTG cable remote because the touch controls are BAD. Other than that, I think this is a Great mobile port of this amazing FPS as long as you have an OTG cable to play. However, I only recommend this port to new players who haven't played the series and only have access to this port, everyone else, stick to PC or consoles since really the main reason for pros of the series to get this is just novelty, still, good port though.

This is honestly a great way to experience DOOM nowadays! Though I will admit that the touchscreen controls are a bit akward to get used to if you're used to games like this on other platforms. The game works great with my PS4 controller, though occasionally the inputs will get stuck for a few seconds, but it isn't that much of an issue for me, but I hope the guys at Bethesda will patch this up soon. Overall, It's still a really fun game to play despite its minor quirks. I'd definitely recomend!

Just played through the first level. Bethesda did a beautiful thing here with the Android app. The video is clear and perfect frame rate. Controls are intuitive and it's nice that if you sit too long, the controls pop up( it answered my questions before I could ask them lol). The music is slightly updated but really stays true to the original. At a dollar a star, I give it five out of five.

This isn't the Nightdive remaster, so you're not getting both Doom 1 + 2 and the Legacy of Rust expansion. If you want a portable rendition of that, get the Switch version. Nevertheless, this is a nice port. It contains Ultimate Doom, and all the really popular map packs (Plutonia, SIGIL, etc.) are available to download for free. This game would benefit from gyroscope controls, though. Otherwise, you really need three fingers to play properly (one to walk, another to aim, and another to shoot).

It's Doom, so it's still fun and amazing. Except there are no options to change anything in the game except movement speed and Always Run. The controls are terrible and the input lag feels something like 200ms. The controls are setup in "fields" where the left side is movement, the middle is action, and the right is move/shoot. Needs aiming joystick and separate button for shooting. Tap is AWFUL. Swiping to aim has inertia so it feels jittery and messes up aiming a LOT. Makes it no fun and hard.

This WAS a great port to play with the Razer Kishi phone controller. It worked for years, then at some nebulous point in the recent past some update happened and now the game (AND Doom 2) will only display upside down. This makes it impossible to play with a controller, and therefore impossible to play because the touch controls are not an option. This really, really sucks because until it's fixed the game might as well not exist anymore, and it wasn't this way even half a year ago.

This is DOOM. It plays nicely (as it should for a nearly 30 year-old game), but sadly... I think this game hits below what it could. You can't move the interactive buttons from the left side of the screen to the right. I don't know what kind of monster-mash hand they expect me to have, but I really would like to move the buttons around at the very least. Also, sometimes 'always run', despite being turned on, sometimes stops. I don't even know if it's a glitch or if I did something.

Overall the game is a really fun experience. It is just like the original and the controls are alright, however there is a bug that will not let me load my game saves. Whenever I press "Load", the game either crashes or freezes. In my opinion, this ruins the experience. I have heard other people have had the same problem. If you fix this bug, I will update this review.

My game appears to be stuck on something stupid. It won't flip horizontally, meaning I have to play the game as if I'm texting someone. Very uncomfortable. Also, when pausing, it won't let me select any of the options available. Can't use saves, disable cheats/enable cheats, can't even click options, I can only back out. I wish I could say this didn't ruin the experience for me but it does.

Amazing for something ported from PC to mobile when the game is from 1993. VERY RARELY does it have messups, only one I've encountered is when barrel go boom, sometimes it freezes for a split second, but my phone ain't too good either soooo... Yeah. 10/10 reccomend, great fps, get soundtrack, great story. Imo, this holds up to eternal & 2016. I do wish there was multiplayer though, as I know it has it on other ports, like on PC. Killing demons with the Bois would be cool in coop, plus deathmatch
