I love this game, on PC, at least. Unfortunately, the mobile version is plagued with bugs that make the game downright unplayable sometimes forcing several restarts and lost progress. I can get past the finicky controls as they're expected on this platform, but game breaking bugs are unacceptable. It's a shame, because the game is very good when it starts working, but it inevitably wets the bed forcing you to lose whatever progress you just made.

The 06/02 update has made the game more difficult to play. The new button is unnecessary and gets in the way, especially with my muscles memory. Placing items have been an issue for a while and the new update didn't help. Items are being placed wrong and when I try to place things towards the bottom it activates the storage section. The movement controls are also a bit buggy, activating even when I'm not within the "joystick" area. Outside of the issues, it's still a nice game to play.

I've loved this game since it came out on steam for pc and I really like the click and drag aspect of it. The app is similar but I'd really appreciate it if the toggle for moving your character wasn't there and instead was the same as clicking anywhere on the screen like the pc version. The toggle makes it difficult to see where you're going because your finger is in the way most of the time while travelling and your character could possibly run right into a spider nest, hornets nest, or tall bird areas without noticing before it's too late to avoid. I want to be able to move my character around by clicking anywhere on the screen like the pc version and not only on items I can pick up. Does anyone else feel the same?

I love this game on PC and was surprised to see that this version is very well made. The controls are smooth and I haven't encountered any major bugs so well done devs! Update: There's one bug I found where the controls seldomly freeze up and I can only move my character but I can't pause, craft, or view the map. I have to restart the app for it to go away but I lose progress if I havent saved.

Great game to have on your phone. Beautiful art style that makes everything a joy to look at. Can be challenging and a bit overwhelming at first when presented with all the building options and enemies but slowly learning the game is genuinely enjoyable. The ability to tweak the settings (spawn rates, map size, etc) makes generating new worlds on a whim lots of fun.

Fun game, very addictive. It does bug out where you can't do anything but move around. Confederate fixes but you lose everything since last save. A new one is trying to continue a saved game and the controls are there as well as the item names (e.g. tree types) but no graphics.Tried multiple times, now a 16 day is lost time.

Don't Starve: Pocket Edition plays just like the base game on PC, adapted for touch-screen use. The game feels incredibly smooth, and nothing has changed. For touch-screen controls, it feels right for the most part. My only complaint is that dragging items into your chest is annoying because the game will think you're tapping your screen to walk someplace. Other than that, the game feels just fine for touch-screen controls! 4/5.

I have only one issue. There a bug that doesnt allow my touch to be recognized. For example, I die and when i am come back i cant move, interact with my hotbar, or pause so i can save and quit. It has happened a few times without me dying. It will save and then glitch for a second then i wont be able to do anything. Other than that, its a great game. Amazing graphics, great feel, and it has nice cinamatics.

the game on PC is great. I played this port for about 5 min, and I refunded, because of an annoying feature. If you try to tap something to pick it up, but it is withing an inch of the moving wheel, it assumes you are trying to move. That may not sound too bad, but it is a whole inch. That is big for a phoen screen. You can make the moving wheel smaller, but, infuriatingly, that doesn't really change the hitbox of it. If you aren't annoyed by this, you will probably enjoy the game.

Basically just as good as the desktop version. Good for long road trips, where you cant bring your pc along. Good job!!! Some suggestions: -Make a 'select stack' button on things like food, so you can select stack, then eat/cook the entire stack, assuming you don't move to interrupt. -Remove the movement circle. Make it so you can hold at the edge of your screen, and keep running. it would help visibility a lot. -Don't highlight things nearby. Lowers framerate (slightly), gets in the way, etc

It's a fun game, but the most recent version has a lot of bugs. The end of the world has tons of visual artifacts and you can't rotate the world anymore. Also seems to be some sort of issue when moving back and forth between menus where the item options disappear. Frustrating for combat when you have to repeatedly move in and out of the inventory to try to equip a spear or log suit. The same general experience as console or pc but a little buggy right now.

I really like this game but it's so much harder to play on my phone than on a computer. The joy stick (?) is frequently in the way of what I'm trying to do. The inventory pops up while I'm trying to place things. Can't turn smooth, have to stop what I'm doing to turn manually. The touch screen response can be iffy, often in critical situations. Have had frequent glitches where I have to close the app and restart, loosing some of my progress. PC version is better

I love this game, but there are lots of bugs with the mobile phone version. It doesn't like to open the game, or access profiles occasionally, there seems to be lots of lag especially when opening the hub too. The graphics are not ported very well. It needs some updates to kill some bugs and adjust the graphics. It looks amazing on iOS, so I know it can be done.

I can't rotate the camera anymore and sometimes my game will stop responding to touch input altogether to the point that I can't even save my progress to close the app and open it again. There is so much potential with this game but so many bugs too. I'm guessing mobile version is not their top priority as it is not their top earner. It's really a shame though because this game could be hours of fun, if it worked all the time.

Don't Starve is a great game, hands down. However, there are a few issues with this mobile port I hope can be worked out. For example, it feels as if some of the custom world settings don't save when you enter the world. The UI is also a bit clunky at times, with the joystick being static rather than floating and interacting with your hotbar being a chore.

Great way to loose track of time. Update: The controls are no longer functioning well on mobile. Since the last update I'm having issues attacking, it just starts freaking out not knowing where to go. Unfortunate because I enjoy playing but this is enough of a game-breaking experience that it makes me beyond frustrated and not wanting to continue.

Since my original review, they've added so much more to this game that had made it a lot better. It now has full compatibility (other than the visual prompts) with the Dualshock 4 that I use periodically with my phone. They've updated the graphics (HD!), and even fixed the problem with the main menu clipping out of the screen. The game runs just fine in a lot of circumstances, and I've never seen any frame drops or glitches. I can now safely say this game is perfect for mobile. Good job, Klei!

Addictive game, love the challenges. But what I love more is getting to pick your challenges and specifications for your world. However, pocket edition doesn't seem to keep to the preset options you choose wren you start. I opted out of hellhounds, but they still appear and kill me instantly.

Love this game. After the negative reviews, I was actually pleasantly surprised by how well it plays. Yes it definitely has some annoyances, such as hotbar item swapping and dropping (dropping items is finnicky, crockpotting from the refrigerator is a no go). Also, when trying to drop an item from the left side of the hotbar, the player will just start walking instead.. lastly there is no quickswapping weapons/tools. Overall having a great time though. It has good potential, pls keep updating!

It is a classic survival experience with a lot of unique stuff and a wonderful art style. However, the control can be awkward, especially in combat, and recently, the game has been extremely glitchy when it comes to navigating menus and general gameplay. The menu selects things or moves with no input, and in a game, it is near impossible to drop items from your inventory right now.
