I thought this would be a fun way to keep accountable, but people are cheating the system and no one cares! There is no host for the Transformer games so there is very little interaction or encouragement during most of the game. At weigh in time though, people post about consuming nothing but water in order to cheat the system to win! This is supposed to be about healthy weight loss and lifestyle changes, but unfortunately that's not what is happening for many.

Love the premise of the app and have never had any major issues with the important parts (weigh in/out/money stuff), but sometimes it barely functions. Crashes out a lot at start up, and trying to use your notifications to get back to your posts is a nightmare. Also, emojis cause weird things to happen in posts for some reason?

As a fitness professional, i found it easy to host a challenge on a platform that has a website and app options, accepts payment, manages the weigh ins and sort of prompts and guides me as a coach to post and engage with my group! The setup was fairly easy. But I did need customer service to assist me initially. confusion between dietbet & the other website & making edits. Also the ability to offer addl incentives is great! Wish there was a way to only have my challenge Visible to my ppts.

You get what you pay for, and by that, I mean this app really helps keep you motivated. Especially when you're first starting out. It's a fun challenge to push yourself for 4 solid weeks and see a reward with the scale, your body and the money that helped keep your motivation. Plus, there's SO much support that DietBet is almost an addiction for me when I'm really trying to cut down the pounds! That being said, you lose money if you don't lose the weight. So work hard for the money you spend!

Well done app. Not buggy, smooth interface, great ability to choose notification and email preferences. As for the premise of the dietbet, just dont bring it up to friends or family unless you want to start a debate of how to best lose weight. I found it works well for me but to each his own. This review is more about the app itself and this app works perfectly. 5/5 would download again! Edit 8/25/19: spelling and clarity

It's a fun way for us who are completive to band together and lose weight. 4% doesn't seem like a lot to lose but a few blips here and there and it can get dicey. But rather than fall back on old bad habits (poor food choices) I reminded myself of the game. I'm fortunate to have a lot of yard to work on and that has been a calorie burner. This is my first time so I made my goal but I'm not sure yet what any payout looks like. But I feel like a winner - lost 2 pounds over my goal! Try it!

Fun app that gave me the motivation to actually eat right and exercise! The app was helpful but you have more access and different ways to be encouraged if you get the full membership. The idea of competing to get healthy and actually winning money makes it so much more exciting! I would recommend it for ppl who like to compete!

Great motivation! I tried my first diet bet years ago and failed miserably. This time, I decided to take it seriously, and I've just won three kickstarters (one month long games)! I'm also involved in a transformer (6 month long games) and I've won the first round. So happy I decided to try again! This app makes it easy to stay motivated and the other players are all very supportive of each other!

The concept is great! However, Dietbet takes 10-25% of the pot. I do understand that they need to get paid. I wish they were more transparent with listing total winners per pot. In the end, you have no idea how much they are really taking. If you need a little motivation or a Kickstarter this may work for you. Keep in mind, this doesn't provide nutrition or an exercise plan.... it's just keeps you aware of your weight (basically you have to keep weighing yourself) which you can do for free.

The community and platform itself is good. I've never had any trouble getting my weigh-ins approved quickly, and never had any trouble getting my money back - but the phone app has major issues! Sometimes my profile picture doesn't post in comments (which is a problem since, in some groups they request you have one), and sometimes my emojis don't post. Sometimes even the whole comment doesn't post. I have more success using the online pc version, but would be nice if these glitches got fixed.

Provides me a different kind of motivation! I get more instant gratification through the Kickstart challenges; which you can do up to three at a time. So, if you stagger your challenges, you can win cash every 10 days! And it's totally in your control to win; so it's not a gamble. Knowing I can be rewarded with cash, up to 3x a month, helps me relax enough to let the progress come at a slower, more manageable pace. Basically, you get Quick Rewards, Steady Progress & Lasting Results!

This app changes your goals in the middle of a challenge to make you lose the challenge, not the weight! I've used this app for over a year, and loved it up until some recent changes. Now they can adjust your goals workout your knowledge, making you fail weigh ins without knowing why. When I asked, they stated this was mentioned "in the initial rules". Don't follow their terrible health and weight advice. Seek the help of a professional, to avoid hurting yourself with the yo-yo dieting they enc

I haven't been able to get the app to work correctly for several weeks. I can't upload my weigh-ins. I've been using this app for several years and have never had problems like I have recently. I uninstalled and reinstalled thinking maybe it would fix the problem. It didn't. I have to go to the website and it is just not mobile device friendly. Please work out your bugs & this will again be a great app.

The whole diet bet process is pretty great. It has helped me get back on track with my weight loss and I know it has helped many others too. The app is very handy to use rather than constantly having to go to the site. My only constructive criticism is that it's a little too quick to reset. If I click into a post someone has made to comment on it, when I hit back it goes all the way to the top again. That's a little frustrating. Other than that, it is great.

Great way to keep focused on losing weight, even during the holidays. I'm not to my ultimate weight yet, but getting closer is better than the alternative! It has surprised me how betting on myself has had such a positive impact. The risk of losing a little money shouldn't be the motivation, getting healthier should be enough. But for me, the thought of losing my bet has helped more than I thought to keep me on track. And the amount weight loss is consistent and not too fast. Love this!👍

The old app version was soooooo much better! The new one lags, doesn't list how much is needed to lose to reach your goal, you can no longer filter posts to read just yours or just the host, etc. Overall, you should have just left things the way they were, which was great! This new version, well, it stinks!

The whole idea of dietbet is amazing but this app sucks. it is definitely not user friendly, and it's sometimes confusing to use. It works, but it's just not as easy to use as i hoped it would be. otherwise I love everything about dietbet. I'm in 3 different ones right now, and did my first one a few months ago. it's a great way to start yourself off on being healthy.

I am giving this app 1 star because it is just a big money grab and a scam. I paid a buy in and a "membership" fee. I ended up losing 13 pounds and winning the bet. along with about 66%of the other people. I was expecting a decent payout but I ended up losing 2 dollars over all. dietbet took more than 25%of the pot and left everyone else at a loss. and when it was time to payout no one would contact me back. jist a big rip off!

Great app to use as a motivational tool for weight loss. The financial aspect of it does definitelyhelp with motivation. The games/challenges all have a social feed wherein you can connect with like minded people, helping you join a community where you share your goals with others and can support each other. There are also multiple types of challenges. Also, the customer care team is very responsive and extremely supportive.

Notifications are garbage. It sure would be nice to receive a notification when it's time to weigh-in so that I don't lose my bet. I never receive one. You think my notifications aren't turned on? WRONG! I get PLENTY of notifications to join a new game. In summary, you get notifications to send them more money but no notifications to enable you to win your money back in your existing Diet Bet.
