Ever since I bought an android I felt the need of a good dictionary app. Looked up the internet, downloaded loads of apps but this one sufficed me the most. It's free and offline. Doesn't have any hidden ads and provides tons of examples. Using this since 2012 helped me a lot. I don't review apps but this one's an exception. Opened the review page after a long time and couldn't help writing one. This app has been the sole reply whoever asked me for a dictionary app. 😉

absolutely the best dictionary app out there, it has got that optimal balance between best performance & lightness in size. Awesome UI comes with different background themes and multiple search options. search history is also saved for every word you look for. Every word you touch leads you to its basic definition too. The window version for PC'S is even far more astoundingly superb and again very light in size too!!! It just rock and that's in no way an exaggeration if you tried it like i do!

I use this app everyday, it has almost never failed in defining new words to add to my vocabulary. I love that you can bookmark new words, so you don't forget about them. Love that it's offline and without adds. I wish there was a option to activate phonetic spelling for the pronunciation of words. I don't like the pronunciation alphabet scheme used in the app. All time favourite and I have never found a better free dictionary than this one.

I like it! Wildcard search, dark mode option (despite the apparently somewhat outdated screenshots), the ability to jump to any word's definition by tapping it… All the features you'd want are here. I'm really curious to know what it's based on, tho. Is it a port of Wiktionary, or some other non-copyrighted dictionary? I don't think so, because they'd be credited, right? So is it completely original? Mysterious.

This is one of my favorite dictionaries; however there are some inaccuracies within the app. When you search for words like "information" and "equipment," it shows you their plural forms as "informations" and "equipments," which are inaccurate since these words are mass nouns and do not have plural forms per se. Please fix this to avoid any confusion.

This app has just been my go-to of all dictionaries (FOSS and non-FOSS). No Ads, lightweight, works offline. I admit that in terms of UI, it looks very unappealing. But, with features like look-up word on clipboard, similar words, and region settings, this app has kept me from exploring other dictionaries. The only need I wish this app had, was an actual Amoled theme. Much love to the dev for such a gem of an app. Thank you.

It is a best dictionary till now I have seen and I am using it from 2-3 years personally. I have so many things are updated and made more flexible to use and made better user experience but I just need to suggest something that I was feeling, this things should be updated too. The navigation bar in which is in top, it that is switched to down side then it will be more flexible and easy navigate it with just few thump touches without using second hand. I will be happy to see something from this !

Simple and straightforward. Definitions are easily understandable, and the customization it offers is impressive - you can decide if you want the app to show words similar to the word you're searching for, as well as its antonyms. In other words, not only this is a dictionary but also it's an effective thesaurus. Oh, and also, dark mode.

This is one of the better (if not best) free alternatives to Oxford En. Dictionary and others. Also comes with a Thesaurus. Enjoyable experience, seamless interaction with other apps. Definitions for words are linked within definitions. Great layout and design. Only thing missing for me is a 'Word Of the Day' push notification. 100% offline, no ads, no bloat!

I love the app; been using it for over a decade right from its PC version. Very intuitive. How it access the clipboard to deliver the meaning of the word as it launches is genius. However, if you've done such a great job putting this together, why not go further to flesh up the means. They can be to sketchy most of time; and if that isn't your goal, you can call it Wordweb Concise Dictionary. That, notwithstanding, wouldn't make me diminish your well deserved 5-star rating. Well done!

Fantastic Dictionary! Have been using the free version of Wordweb for quite some time and I'm loving it. The only problem seems to be lack of efficient way to navigate the bookmarked words. It would be highly convinient if we could swipe to go to suceeding words instead of having to go back to the list again and again. Developers have done a great job creating this wonderful app. Cheers!

Excellent and very handy. Very user friendly interphase. It is a must have for students at all levels. Use it and you will realise its importance. Thanks to the developers. The best features are - It works in offline mode. Secondly it does not make the system hang. Third, it can be easily transferred to the SD card. So it doesn't occupy your mobile's memory. Most importantly the word meanings are exact and nicely explained and illustrated with examples. You also get related words easily.

I've been using this app since a lot of time now. Got uninstalled by mistake.. wordweb is amazing. The definitions are simple and to the point. However, I would like to have Wordweb save the history of all the searched words in storage or something. It does save words to a particular point, after that though it just deletes the previously searched words. Also swiping on keyboard doesnt work on this app. I would really appreciate if the Wordweb team makes these changes in the future update.

Checked out the app and being able to set parameters is awesome, along with the other features. Most of all: No Adds or In App Purchases. First impression is what I was looking for. Will uninstall Only if I become displeased with your product. This is the second one I tried, the first one I discarded almost ameeditly. Thank you for providing a useful and user friendly product. Great but not truly "offline" as the app needs to connect to the internet to download the dictionary from the database. There are other dictionary apps that are truly offline and will work offline without needing to initially download from the database. Would like it if they made WordWeb dictionary fully offline and not reliant on the internet. Otherwise, it is one of the best dictionary apps out there and it doesn't drain battery.

I love this app. Most usable dictionary out there. I would choose nothing other than this one. It is concise yet gives meaning(s), examples, and Pronunciation in the best possible way. Super lightweight but super capable!!! Thank you, creators!! Edit: But, please switch it back to the old app icon and theme if you can. It looks more authentic and has a better vibe to it than this blue theme and new icon.

Your app is excellent–hands down the most comprehensive dictionary app I've found to date. One small note - as a graphic designer & UI developer, I feel the new logo does the app a grave disservice. The old logo was much more effective - conveying the warmth & historical authority of old dictionaries. This new blue colorscheme is all wrong, having no bearing on either analog dictionaries nor conveying a positive emotion. The new icon is generic & banal, whereas the old was welcoming & relevant.
