I LOVE this app, it's very accurate! however I would like to see a few modes. camera mode - As in being able to use the camera to see languages (a stop sign for example) and have the app translate it. Along with a picture upload mode - As in if we upload a picture that has a different language on it, it'll translate the picture. And maybe even conversation mode - you say the word outloud and the app translates it.

The translating service is quite good, seemingly better than Google's. It has the same translating service as the web and desktop versions, but as of writing this, it is a bit of an early version (1.0.1 right now) and doesn't have some features the other versions have. It does have a paste button which is useful though. This version is good for a quick translation if you don't need the other features right now.

Amazingly accurate from all the testing I have done thus far. I've done the best I could thinking up euphemisms and odd speech patterns that usually end up confusing most other translation software, and I have to say, by far, this is the best software I have ever seen with the ability to accurately interpret and translate in natural and coherent sentences. Loving to see where this will go in the future and deeply hoping for some sort of keyboard implementation.

Easily the best Japanese translator I’ve ever found or used. It’s hard to imagine there are better ones out there, especially for free. Even outside of Japanese, DeepL is a pretty reliable translator. One thing that seems unique to them is the providing of alternative translations. I think it’s really useful and helpful. The app is easy to use. The only thing missing would be a dictionary or even a history, but, still, hands down, one of the best translators out there.

This is definitely better than any other translator I have tried so far! However, unreliable because too often, it suddenly stops translating unexpectedly and displays a message saying "Access Denied" with explanation that too many requests are being sent to server. Once this happens, it's impossible to use the translator for a while, especially if you open DeepL in incognito browser to try again, then go to try app once 2nd browser messes up, only for all three methods to have same end result.

The desktop version is probably one of the best, if not the best, translators for documents and text I have ever used. It allows you to toggle between formal and informal speech (I use it for Spanish, mostly), to check for alternative vocabulary words or phrases, and to translate audio. I only gave it 4 stars because the mobile app is more limited in that it doesn't allow for the ability to check for alternative words but it's still superior to other translation apps I've used in the past.

The App is good, but there are some things I'd mention for improvement. 1. The American English voice is too fast and too robotic. It doesn't sound natural. 2. The App stops from listening very quickly, when I'm speaking in English. English quick is too accelerated, either for listening of for speaking. 3. Even in my mother language, I have to continue fluidly speaking, because if I do a pause, the App stops from recording. As a consequence, I have split out my recording in several pieces.

This app is amazing. When compared to other translation apps, DeepL stands out in a good way. As expected, there are a few hiccups here and there, but I would rather have a wonky translation than a useless one. I accidentally deleted some saved translations, I feel like it might be too easy to do so. Asking for confirmation, or having undo would be nice.

It's a very, very good app; extremely useful for me playing games, especially with the camera feature. However, I find that taking pictures isn't always helpful without some finagling; often I have to erase garbage text it picked up from nothing or add in some characters or a random english letter it missed (this happens a lot when trying to scan the word "ID", like an ID card). Otherwise, it's a great app and I recommend it!

I love this app. The translations are mostly accurate and very quick, and it's very good for translating slang. There are no ads and you can save as many translations as you want to look through them later. However, one feature I really loved was the ability to tap on a word and look at synonyms, the gender and infinitive of the word, and see how the word is used in example sentences. I'd also like a list of all the conjugations of a word (either for pronouns or for the different tenses.) Thanks

Problems with audio. I give this two stars at this point. In the past I loved it, however, had a lot of issues with it closing out on me, and now I only get audio for the English that I put in to translate into my target language. The language I am trying to learn the audio will not play. I even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it didn't fix the issue. App has severely gone downhill.....I will only use the online version going forward.

This is my first time using the app and I already found 2 bugs in less than 5 minutes of using it. The first one is not being able to sign in for whatever reason. The second bug is the app crashes whenever I touch the folder icon (I have no clue what it does). I still didn't start translating yet so I'm going to give it 2 stars for now until I give the main function of the app a try. Not a good start so far.

It's okay. It turns a lot of words into the hybridized "Japanglish" words when translating from English to Japanese. If a developer sees this, please remove this or add an option to scrutinize whether the translations will be in proper Japanese or Hybrid translations. Otherwise, pretty easy to figure out, use, and has a better mic app for spoken translations over Google Translate.

It does seem accurate. (German translation). But unlike the desktop version, the ability to change between the infomal you (du) and the formal you (Sie), is not an option. It does indeed seem more accurate than Google Translate. But just like Google translate, one is stuck with the Formal Sie (you) when translating. Still, anyway, a good app.

Great. I like that it comes with alternate phrases. The format is highly functional for live translation conversations. It would be cool if there was an option for the speaker to continue listening instead of cutting off after 2-second silences. I mean, that's helpful with live, quick conversation, but difficult for longer and more meaningful conversation.

Works fairly decent. However, rating 3*s for some pretty annoying issues. 1) I use this for communication in a game. Every once in awhile, it injects a link into the clipboard to advertise. Remove this and I'll give another star. 2) the sidebar tab doesn't stay on. All permissions have been granted, but the quick access tab disappears and doesn't stay, so I have to go in the app and exit, then it comes back on. This is super annoying. Again, fix this and I'll give another star.

I like the app and the accuracy of the translations. But there's two flaws that drives me mad. When you use the voice translation option you have no ability to use punctuation. Other voice to text applications will automatically punctuate your speech. The other issue I have is with how long the mic will remain "hot." So many times I'm finding myself having to speak as fast as possible without pausing or else the mic stops listening and I have to start all over again.

This translation app provides alternative translations to the sentence requiring translation which I haven't found in any other app so far. The user can pick one alternate word to use in the sentence which may cause the app to restructure its sentence to become grammatically correct with the new word. Any other app allows one to plug in another word but doesn't correct the grammar which creates a nonsense sentence. The more I learn about this app the more it becomes my go to app.

The app is very easy to use except that I dow loaded both voices for the main language I am using the app for but I cannot figure out how to delete the second voice as it's hard to understand and that is the only voice it uses to pronounce words. I have deleted all cache and data as well as uninstalled the app several times. I wish there was customer service to contact.

Love this app. I use it as a tool for learning Japanese. I've heard its accuracy is quite good and I love that it provides you with variations of whatever you're translating. It's great at is, but to make it more personal I think it would be cool if you could adjust the voice when you're listening to it. Like for English - it's just a woman's voice, but imagine if you could change it to male, or use various accents like British. Not necessary, but I do think some customization would be cool.
