More About DEEMO II

Just in time for Rayark's 10th anniversary comes a sequel to their classic IP, DEEMO.
A kingdom created through music faces an uncertain future after a monster called 'The Ancestor' plagues the land with a destructive 'Hollow Rain'. This dangerous rain causes anyone it touches to 'bloom', turning into a flurry of white flower petals and ultimately vanishing from existence.
DEEMO II follows Echo, a girl who has bloomed but mysteriously re-appeared, and Deemo, an enigmatic station Guardian, as they journey through this rain-soaked world in hopes of finding a way to save it.

Features:

▲A Mysterious and Emotional Story:
Why did 'The Composer', the elusive being who created this world, suddenly abandon it? Why and how did Echo bloom and then come back to life? Accompany Echo as she uncovers the secrets behind these questions, journeying to uncover the truth and save the world.

▲A Combination of Rhythm and Adventure:
Explore Central Station with Echo, interacting with your surroundings as you get to know the many station residents while discovering clues and 'Charts', magical pieces of music with the power to clear away Hollow Rain. As Deemo you'll play those Charts, putting your musical skills to the test in fun and challenging rhythm sections, ultimately moving the story forward.

▲30 Core Songs + DLC Song Packs for a Total of 120+ Tracks:
Composers from around the world, including Japan, Korea, Europe and the Americas, have created an eclectic array of tracks for DEEMO II with an emphasis on acoustic instrumentation. Genres include Classical, Jazz, Chill Pop, J-Pop, and more. Infectious, emotive melodies will give music lovers dozens of fast favorites, and creative, syncopated rhythms will make sure rhythm-game aficionados have plenty to sink their teeth into.

▲Make Friends with Over 50 Station Residents:
Central Station is full of characters with their own personalities and stories. As Echo, you can chat with them as they walk about Central Station, living their lives, opening paths to different topics depending on the situation. As you talk with them and get to know them, you'll start to feel like you're part of an eccentric new community.

▲Storybook Graphics and Artstyle:
DEEMO II marries hand-drawn backgrounds with 3D models and a meticulous attention to detail that will make you feel like you're caught in a storybook, or an anime come to life.

▲Movie-Quality Animated Scenes:
DEEMO II is full of high-quality anime cutscenes, fully voiced by professional Japanese voice actors. Pair that with music composed by DEEMO and Sdorica vets, and you've got an audio and visual treat.

Rayark is well-versed in rhythm-game production, with popular titles like Cytus, DEEMO, Voez, and Cytus II under their belt. They are well-known for mixing fun and fluid rhythm gameplay with visual flair and deep storylines, providing full, rewarding experiences to get lost in.

Pros: Story and graphics remind me of Studio Ghibli. Events are really fun to play! Can purchase song packs for free. Played since launch and already have 5/6 of the currency needed for one. Good amount of free song packs given, and they will probably give more with future updates. Cons: There's a bit of lag when playing music, hurts combos at times but uncommon. Battle pass is pricey. Cutscenes are sometimes unsynced. Note: Radiance only helps progress the story faster, don't need it to play.

This is conflicting for me. On the one hand I love Deemo. It is by far my favorite rhythm game. Everything about it is right up my alley. However Deemo II's reliance on micro transactions is disappointing. I wish there was an option to pay for a premium version of the game that would get rid of a lot of that stuff. I'd rather spend say $20 upfront and maybe pay for additional songs than all this stuff. Plus limited plays suck. Rayark please listen to the feedback.

I truly loved the first deemo game. I played it on my phone for a while then bought the switch port which I absolutely love and is the ideal form of the game imo. I've played the first 5 songs you unlock, but to unlock more, I need to play some of them multiple times. The first felt a lot more balanced, unlocking songs quickly enough you didn't have to... farm progression on a handful of songs. I'd rather pay a premium for a fleshed out switch version than play this for free.

It's better than I could imagine brings a tear to my eye. Edit: it's not a "battle pass system" it's a way for them to make money you only buy it once and then you just level it up if you check it has no expiration date it's like the sand timer in the first one it only unlocks more of the game a system like this is need for a free game and plus the things you can only can only be bought once except the 5 dollar one but everything in the game can be earned and you can still play without radiance.

The game has been great so far. The graphics are amazing but the audio can get out of sync with the cutscenes. The Radiance system/ stamina is NOT forcing you to play 10 songs every 20 hours. The game will say over and over in tip screens that even if you run out of Radiance you can keep playing songs. Radiance is just a way to make the game progress faster.

This game is great, but it's absolutely horribly optimized. Even when utilizing apps that force Deemo II to run at lower graphics, and even when using my phone's high performance mode, the game can't help but lag (if not completely freeze on occasion) in the middle of any of the harder charts. I have very few problems with the game outside of its performance, but its performance is absolutely horrible in the rhythm game segment when there's very little reason for it to be.

I got my phone early 2019 yet the lag is still hellish. I cannot tell you how many ACs and FCs were ruined by it. There's also constant framerate drops and audio static, and oftentimes the audio during cutscenes is super out of sync with the video. There needs to be a "Low" graphics setting that doesn't kill my phone. Presentation and music are 10/10. The monetization somehow manages to be worse than Cytus 2 though.

Game is good, music is good, but I can't even play the game smoothly because of the lag issue. There is no option to choose the graphic lower to improve the performance. Often the game will pause a bit, and then the notes got skip, and I missed those and lost my full combo. Sometimes the notes won't registered when I clicked/tap, and, again, missed the notes and lost my full combo.

I didn't plan on writing a review, but I'm seeing so many false complaints I need to set some stuff straight. First the huge glaring issue is random desyncs during songs that make it impossible to full combo songs. Now I see many complaints about the stamina system. People don't understand the stamina system doesn't stop you from playing songs it just means playing songs won't progress the story as fast. You can still play songs when out of stamina. It's a nice way to limit story progression.

Reason why I'm giving 4 stars is because it's brand new. It has a lot of potential. Controlling Echo is a bit weird. It's kind of hard to get her where you want her to go sometimes. But I really like the idea of walking around areas like in Deemo Reborn. Some other things is that within minutes of playing my phone is already hot to the touch. But it's okay on the battery. Could be better, but not terrible. It does also lag during songs, which has ruined combos. I've enjoyed the story so far!

Disappointed once again with the calibration. They are light years behind games like A dance of fire and ice and Arcaea. You simply have to do a few samples, and it calculates your offset perfectly. In addition, you can have multiple offsets saved for wired/wireless headphones. I gave feedback to rayark about this in the past, and customer service said they'd look into it. Disappointed. in other news, it looks great, but overall grindier than the previous game, having a battle pass and energy.

Energy system. Battle pass. And still $6 per song pack. The menus are still clunky and you have to dig through stuff to find the song you want, and now there is an overworld so you have to spend time walking around to get to things. I get that it isn't just a rhythm game, but there's so much extra stuff I feel just takes away from the core experience, which is a fairly average top-down rhythm game. I do not like how it plays, it never feels on beat, and it's very difficult to stay accurate.

I was a massive fan of the 1st Deemo, and I want to love this one just as much. The story is compelling, the art is beautiful, it's an incredible experience. So why 3 star? Energy system... I bought every song pack in the 1st game because I loved the music & it helped me progress the story. Now, songs barely help you progress, so there's no point replaying the same 6 songs or buying new songs unless you have energy. They want your money, but don't want you to play 😭😭 I'm gutted.

Delved into it a bit. What I've seen is wonderful. The game is free. There IS a stamina system, but it's not how you think. You aren't stopped from playing or progressing in the story, it just progresses slower. It isn't a deal breaker at all, and they definitely deserve $ thrown their way from what I've seen so far. It's goddamn beautiful, and the music amazing. Runs super smooth with a little hiccups here and there, but hey day 1 release. Doesn't lag at all where it counts, in the rhythm parts

RA, love you guys. I'll start positive. The visuals are fantastic across the board, character design is great, and song selection is wonderful. This is a exceptional game! I just have one problem and it's a big one for me. It's that playing songs cost resources. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about getting you paid, believe me. It just stings to have bought song packs and to then be told, "Insufficient credits to play. You can buy more in the shop." It's discouraging. Still, wish you the best!

Great artwork, and seemingly a lot of story to progress through. Unfortunately, the new graphics for actually playing the music are just not as good as the first game, in my opinion. Songs take forever to unlock, already, and song packs are spendy. I hate to say it, but this game is a bust. Should've spent more time on the music rather than the artwork.

I'm torn. The gameplay is just as good as the first one. I'm not too into the story so I can't speak on that too much but the presentation is well done. The reason I'm torn is they've changed their monetization model and not necessarily for the better. There is a really expensive battle pass ($20), a stamina system that once used doesn't stop you from playing slows down your progress. This is on top of the music packs they usually offer in their games. It really puts a sour taste on it all.

You guys did a fantastic job at note input and Chapter 2 changed the aspect of the game and story. Fantastic story build up and slow release of each chapter. Love it! You get a 5star, monetization is balanced for no ad experience. Not even overpriced for a free DL game with new additions each week. My only complaint is "flick notes." I don't feel like they register as they should and the time to get in the position for the next note is a bit too much. I see 3-4 yellow slides the same as flicks.

It's alright compared to the first game. I love the new types of notes, so game play is better, except for the songs that slow down in the middle, I really dislike that mechanic. The story is interesting but there are a lot of npcs to keep track of. Not a fan of finding charts for only one difficulty of a song at a time, I'd rather just find fewer charts and have them unlock all three difficulties. There are a lot of resources to keep track of, which is confusing, and the collectibles are meh.

This game went above and beyond expectations! I loved the first game, but this one doesn't even feel like a mobile game with its cutscenes, voice acting, exploration, map, collectables, saving, etc. Love that the core of Deemo playing is still present even with this mega upgrade to everything else in the game! 5 stars if cooldown period were 30min since I can play about 10 songs in that timeframe. 2 hours seem excessive to be able to play ONE song
