More About Death's Door

Available exclusively for Netflix members.
Become a crow who reaps souls. It's a dead-end job, but when a thief steals your work, you set off on a sword-slashing quest to unearth death's secrets.

When your day (and night) job is reaping the souls of the dying, the office can start to feel a little dead — except in the very rare case where a soul is stolen. That's when things get interesting.

Play as a cute, soul-reaping crow in this fantasy RPG that brings talon-sharp combat to an epic quest for the titan-sized soul that got away. Hack and slash through mysterious magic doors, cutting down wild beasts and tyrannical bosses on the way through dungeons where death isn't working as it should. Which, by the way, is also a problem. Your problem.

Features:

• Discover an arsenal of magic weapons including swords, hammers, bows and spells and use them to help the crow take down a series of whimsically dangerous dungeon bosses.
• Customize your crow with upgrades that increase strength, dexterity, haste and magic to shape the most efficient lil' soul reaper around.
• Battle through colorful and quirky realms like the well-appointed Estate of the Urn Witch and the Frog King's swampy dungeon.
• Track down whoever stole the giant soul and uncover larger mysteries that shape the crows' world, their jobs and the nature of death itself.
• Meet a cast of weird and wonderful characters who might have intel on the soul thief. Or they have their own problems to worry about. Problems that only a tiny, soul-reaping crow can solve.

This gameis very good, not gonna lie, but it needs an auto-aiming system that automatically attacks the closest targets. The Giant Souls should also grant some sort of buff, such as restoring 1 HP upon killing enemies. Overall, good game, just a lack of sustainability battle playstyle.

The game does well what it aims to, that is: a simple isometric action game. This is the kind of game I expect as first from an indie studio. The gameplay has a nice slow feel to it. The story is very basic. The graphics are really cute and pleasant, but the environments lack personality - maybe having only one concept artist was a bottleneck, as good as they are. The soundtrack is the most impressive aspect of this game. I did not expect it to be this good! Solid game, grab it if you can! 7/10

Elegantly designed game.. the art work and the story line is so good.. but yeah.. there is no option for resizing the control's buttons which become a big flaw in the gameplay.. other than this, one must really try this!!

Had an absolute blast playing this. I am not the kind of person who gets invested in games so easily. But this had me hooked. Apart from some wierd glitches where you freeze in one place and lack of a map everything was really fun.

Great port of this awesome game to mobile. Needs more performance and graphics options though, stuck at 30fps here and should easily be able to do more on my phone. Game is choppy looking and it really breaks the immersion.

This game was PHENOMENAL. Great plot, good character development, incredible music, and nice gameplay, even though it was pretty challenging at times. Made you feel the bond with a character, teaches good life lessons, pretty emotional game. I'd say 10/10.

It would be so much better with controller support. The game was a blast on PC. However, it requires to control your character perfectly, especially during boss fights. It's simply not possible with touch controls. I really hope this will get controller support at some point.

Honestly best game I've ever played, the story, combat, visuals and music were just top right amazing. Yes the game is a bit hard, but it gradually gets easier the more you learn about the mechanics of the enemies you're fighting. But all I'm gonna say is the game is amazing.

This is a truly good game, hours of gameplay for free. I like the fact that the game let you find everything by yourself, with some clues given by the npjs. The difficulty is not too hard but not too easy, the right balance. The atmosphere of the game is crazy, with beautiful music, and a wide range of worlds.

The game is great on console, but terrible on mobile, as there is no way to sync a controller to play it, so you are left with the awful on screen game controls, which aren't very responsive and mean that your fingers are blocking part of the screen. So avoid this version and get it on console instead!

The game itself is pretty good - simple but nice story, moody atmosphere, has a clear hollow knight vibes to it. One bad thing though is controls, somehow it's the worst touch controls in mobile game I've ever encountered. You sometimes stop moving or don't attack when you try to. Also character lags a bit compared to controls itself. All of which as pretty important in a game where timing is everything. Also doesn't support controller, which could make it better (

Really loved the game , although I would have to say that the controls sometimes go out of control especially in the icy terrain which is problematic in timed situations. Also, A bug occurs when you die after battling the lord of doors and are summoned back to the door you came from , the bug here is that you cannot move around because you are summoned behind the door where is no space to move and dieing to resummon brings you back at the same spot, hence forcing a game restart .

I can't see anything, I can't read anything, I can't see which way I'm facing because the graphics are stuck at two pixels. Half of the time it doesn't register the joystick button. I'm giving this two stars because it has potential and I would love this game if they could fix those problems. It's more of a rage game right now.

Honestly this game was much more surprising of what I was expecting. It is true that the controls can be challenging on a touch screen for Android. But playing with a touch screen has never been easy. You can perceive the influence from The legend of Zelda, but that doesn't take away that it is a good game

A GREAT AAA GAME for Mobile. I love that Netflix is doing stuff like this. This is easily worth $10 or more, and you get it free with your subscription. The on-screen controls are fine until you get to a boss fight. Then you’d better plug in your external controller because it’s about to get real. CONTROLLER REQUIRED! The game itself is awesome. Such a cool atmosphere and really fun gameplay. It’s sort of like an action-based Zelda knockoff where you explore dungeons, get keys, and fight bosses.

Clear souls inspiration, great game eith tons of secrets, great art style and execution. 4 stars only for the on screen controls, the movement stick needs a very accurate touch. I do believe this problem is blown a little out of proportion in other reviews, its not that bad. I've played through a full section of the game, bosses included, using these controls. If the developer added a feature that let you resize the controls, the problem would be fixed immediately.

Great (graphics/story) BUT...I can't help but feel that the Achilles heal of this game is the very poor control interface--at least on Android. It's like driving a car w/bad steering. You point one way and it goes somewhere else. Aiming to fire is like balancing on a beachball. You literally feel like the game is cheating you. This is my 3rd revision of my review from 3 stars to 1. I've passed the denial stage and embraced that it's just bad. The old saying applies: garbage in, garbage out.

Challenging and fun at the same time. I genuinely enjoyed moving through different areas, gaining abilities and finding hidden secrets. The plot was very interesting and there's an additional piece of the story at the end if you find it. I played over 21 hours of this game (mainly cause I struggled more than I care to admit) and got a complete 100%. Absolutely love it and look forward to similar games

It's a fun game, and I beat over a third of it (3.5 hours). However, it doesn't have physical controller support! When I plugged in my razer kishi it wouldn't recognize the input, so I worked around it by using the Razer virtual controller software. But even that is no longer an option because a recent update nixed virtual controller support on the game. It's a fun game that requires precise controls, and making it entirely touchscreen only makes it virtually unplayable. 4 stars otherwise.

USB controllers are not supported. Bluetooth controllers such as Xbox works fine, but USB controllers such as Razer Kishi does not work at all. Why is there no USB controller support? This is an amazing game and I would love to easily give it five stars, but without controller support it is basically unplayable. Due to the fast-paced nature of the game, the on-screen controls are unusable. The difficulty is so high. You will die over and over and over again trying to use on-screen buttons.
