nice app. i dont know what other peoples experience with ads are but the ads i get are very minimal and not that intrusive (I get an occasional pop up rarely). my only complaint about the free version is not being able to see your saved pieces! would be nice to have limited saves at a time, maybe? just so we can have time to look up the artists later and find more about them. but it is a one time purchase which is nice if u have money to spend.

NOT JUST PRETTY PICTURES I really enjoy Daily Art... It is both an introduction and an education. It's easy to digest visually and each day's offering includes a 3 - 5 minute introduction to the painter, the art, and it's history. And, just in case you want to know more, there are links to much more in-depth information. It is seemless to use across devices and systems and it has become a part of the day that I look forward to.

Great to have on hand as educator. You can use it in english class as a prompt. What do you think? Do you like it? Describe what you are seeing. In art class its a daily warm up. Try to draw this in 5/10 minutes. Draw this image in your own style (or given by teacher). In history class maybe it can connect to historical events & add context. Since the image changes it takes away the time needed to do that. Which used to be a hassle. Or maybe the app is great to look thru while popping.

I've found the analysis quite thought-provoking, though it's very brief. The art itself is reasonably varied. In short, the app is fun without requiring beforehand an education focused on the arts. There's a small problem with the English translation at times; also some of the commentary is much better than others. It's always worth reading, though, and the art is outstanding.

Easy to use and lots of information. I enjoy how you can click on a painter and it shows which museums they are in and their artwork. Information has proofreaders, so there are no errors. The quality of the images are great and I like how you can zoom in. I've been trying to learn more about the art genres, and this is a great resource. Glad I found this app!

The art presented is varied and of high quality. Each piece comes with a short article describing the artist, the art, the historical context, etc. The thing that really does it for me, however, is the widget. This app allows you to put on displau a different art piece every day on your home screen without even opening the app. I find this variety very welcome to my phone. Should a particular piece strike my fancy, a high resolution download is available and easily accessible. This is a good app

This new version is great because you can make the pieces of art larger and zoom in on them. It's crisper and I like the color palette better. However ads are now covering up the year the art was made and I can't see it. And now when I move from piece to piece an ad plays. I understand they have to make money but it's disappointing nonetheless.

Biographic information is a treat! Wish there were more examples of the works described (constraints of space and time). However, links to museums, other artists or more of the featured artist's work, especially if it is in a different style, really is a wonderful feature. Your efforts have sent me to my books and zooming across the internet in search of obscure (to me), art. Appreciate your time and dedication to bring this piece of culture and history into our busy days. It reminds us to look.

This app is easily one of my new favorites. The daily dose is perfect, as it allows one to wholly appreciate each, instead of mindlessly fumbling through without stopping to read and enjoy. The descriptions are great, and the ability to zoom in is fantastic. Every app should allow that feature. I look forward to seeing this app grow and develop. Edit 1: I decided to spring for the paid version and an enjoying the updates and features. However, I miss the dark theme considerably. Please bring this back! Edit 2: Lowering rating due to recent posting of "art" in the form of photography. This app should focus on paintings, with some sculpture and the like. Photography, in my opinion, has no business here. Edit 3 (9/15/18): Lowering rating to one star. I've been dealing with the cringe worthy ":)" and the like scattered about the descriptions of the pieces presented daily, but today sealed the deal. I've decided, despite having the paid version, to delete and uninstall this app. There is no place, no earthly reason to choose a "painting" from a Netflix cartoon as the daily art. With the world's catalog of art, this is what was chosen? I look to apps like this as a way to escape certain aspects of our culture. I fear this to be a trend this app will follow, and this I've no need to be party to it. How sad, as this app was one of the best. I recommended often, but can no longer.

Useful learning app (and pretty pictures!) This app is a nice way to learn a little something, and see something pretty and/or interesting everyday. I love going to museums, but I'm not any sort of expert, so I like that the descriptions teach a little about the artist or context or even technique. I also love seeing the location of each piece, it's been fun seeing locations I've been to!

Excellent for what it is. If you want a ready made place to go with pleasing visual design to be informed on one work of art a day (you can review past days as well) along with supplemental articles, this is it! Could you get the same with Wikipedia? Probably, but it wouldn't be as curated and visually appealing. It doesn't really have quizzes or other pedagogical tools (at least not the free version) but if you are good at self-guided learning it's good.

This is a great app, and in my opinion, well worth the cost of a lifetime purchase. Setting the timing of delivery of the Daily Art can help add reflection to a day, or to inspire a day. Do I like each piece selected? No....but, I don't like everything I see in a museum either....Having this delivered to the palm ofy hand, reading a bit and getting to enlarge/zoom in to see a work that I do enjoy, is a great addition to my everyday, giving a moment that is just for me. Love it.

[Update] I wanted to edit my review in praise of this app because I have been a user for a while. I find the new UI aesthetically pleasing, and enjoy the shuffle feature which chooses for me at random, a different work of art for me to discover. The images are high quality, and the information provided for each work is informative and well written. This app has had a lot of work put into it, and it is evident that the creators have a deep love and appreciation for art.

I got this app to be more exposed to art and I can say after 5 years that not only the goal has been achieved but I genuinely enjoy seeing the art picked out. I decided to get premium and it was well worth it. I use their widget to see the art pieces on one of my phone screen pages and never had any technical problems. The store also has really good quality merch. I enjoy reading the descriptions of the art and it's clear that the people involved with it are passionate about what they do.

I like seeing a different piece of art every day, however, when you are interested in an article beware! The number of ads is overwhelming, covers the content, and makes them impossible to read. I've literally given up trying because it's so frustrating. If I want to know more I'll ask Madame Google or Wikipedia from now on. 4 stars because the ads on their articles are ridiculous, otherwise they would've gotten 5.

A wonderful app for art lovers. I love learning about my favorite artists and discovering new artists with this app! They provide amazing artist bios and descriptions of works of art. It's a great teaching tool for art educators as well! I've used it many times in my classrooms over the years. I have the premium version and the features are totally worth it! I can save all my favorite works and refer back to them whenever I want and peruse all the previous artworks of the day.

I love my daily art history lessons💗 It's become a morning ritual for me. What I find most fascinating is looking at these amazing works of art of all different styles and cultures, looking at the artists' lifespans (most ranging between late 30s and to early 60s) and realizing... often times life is too short, but you can do great things in the limited time we all have. Life is finding what you are passionate about and enjoying every moment of it.

As someone who passionately adores art - collecting, admiring, painting, learning - stumbling upon this app was perfect! Getting to read about and see stunning artwork here is convenient and informative (even tells you what museum the works can be found in!). Some features require a paid subscription, but for basic things such as seeing and reading about the work is free Love love love it, thank you to the creators!

Some odd months of using the app after the ui/ux update, I am saddened to say that it's been a real let down of an experience. I don't use it half as much as I used to, it's still slower, there are a lack of favorite organization options, and it's more bloated than the original version. The ui might look "more sleek" than the original, but it's functionally a disappointment. It's a shame. Dailyart was a simple yet superb execution of what an art app should be.

I started using this app's widget as a funny little conversation starter, but have kept it around for years because it genuinely brings me so much more joy than I expected it to. It's a wonderful, informative little app. My only request would be to add a resizable widget on Android that doesn't zoom in on the artwork. There used to be one, but now it fills the widget space and often cuts off some of the art instead of scaling it down to fit. Aside from that, I love the app and daily articles!
