I was hesistant at first, but then as I continued to play I became very invested. The storyline, although confusing at times, was intriguing and was open to interpretation. The puzzles were just the right amount of difficulty and it seemed that they became more difficult at you progressed through the game. I also appreciate the amount detail gone into creating the story. I absolutely loved this game! It's in my top ten!

Ordinarily I'm not very good at Escape Room games, but I thought I'd challenge myself with this one. It is so well thought out, and the clues are clever and tricky to solve. I really enjoyed playing this game! Have to admit, it was also a little spooky in parts. Kudos to the creators for putting your bio Easter egg in the file cabinet. Well done! One bug I found, and hopefully they read these reviews: I ran into problems when going to the TV for clues. I could hear the audio, but there was no image on the screen, only the fuzzy screen. I had to resort to the walkthrough to watch what should have been on the screen. Overall, great game!

If you want to be kept guessing, this is the game for you! It's very complex. I bought part 2, no regrets. There are also achievements for both levels. You'll have to repeat some of the activities from your first run through to solve some, like finding the key to unlock the dressers, but nothing too painful. Click on each achievement square for a hint, and WATCH THE VIDEO. You can do that through the app, but I went to YouTube and watched it on a larger screen. Several times. Highly recommend.

This is the first escape game I've actually completed (at least chapter 1) and overall it was really enjoyable! Some parts are definitely not as intuitive as others. The game is a creepier game so if you're easily scared I recommend playing without music. I am still quite confused by the plot despite going through all of chapter one but I suppose that's the point (since you're the main character who is confused as to where he is and why). I definitely recommend the game!

Update: apparently the issue was only on my phone, not sure why. But Loved the game! Definitely makes you think, but the puzzles aren't so complicated that you cant figure it out. And if you get stuck there is free help. [Too glitchy, tv didn't work like it should, but i figured out how to still progress in the game, but now the levers aren't working like they should so im stuck and unable to finish the game.]

Absolutely amazing game! The puzzles were fun and exciting (and I may have gotten jump scared a time or two). Each puzzle will within it wasn't too hard to figure out, but it wasn't too easy either. They gave just enough hints and stuff to get you through. Though, it still took me three hours, so keep that in mind. I'm not sure if the game saves automatically, because I played through the whole thing I'm one sitting...It was such a good game! I reccomend this to anybody who loves puzzle games!

This is actually wonderful. It's not just your typical escape room mobile app, it actually has a compelling backstory and an entire universe behind it. It also features multiple endings!! There's even a wonderfully produced Youtube video that goes with it. Not only that, but it also has NO ADS for FREE. I repeat, it does not spring ads on you randomly for completing puzzles or anything. 10/10, please play it.

It's so rare to find a free game, no ads, that's so special that you actually WANT to throw your money at the authors. That's THIS GAME. If you like games with story, puzzles, mystery, exploring, or just want something different... try it. Game never punishes you, you can't die, you are just stuck until you figure out how to progress. Can pick up and put down whenever you want. Just a well-made game. Thanks Rusty Lake!

If I could rate them separately, I'd give Chapter One 5 stars and Chapter Two 4 stars. The reason being, the clock puzzle in chapter 2 is such a stretch it brings the whole thing down. Many people have complained about this level and I agree, it would be better if it was clearer. Though it was easy to brute force, I had to look up an explanation. I've beaten every rusty lake game and it's the first thing I've had to look up since you had to shock the bird like five times in Hotel, so it was a little bit of a bummer. Other than that one issue, it's pretty good. I've been playing these games since their inception and this is definitely one of the best. I think it's even better than one of the other premium games, namely Paradise (the puzzles were ok but the transition from zone to zone in that game was utter torture.)

Another winner from Rusty Lake! Beautiful art as always, and I loved the live-action component. A bit of replay value with the achievements, as well. Puzzles are fun and complex, and even the ones that seem simple have layers to them...just like the storyline. I'm definitely hooked on the world and story you've created, and I'll always be looking forward to the next installment.

Excellent as always. Love the references to past games (Not required to have played them though, so don't worry). Appreciate the clever puzzles. The memory game took awhile to figure out, but once I did it made sense (it's not a glitch, you need to do things in a certain order, and change the configuration frequently!). Very generous free version, I'm now into the awesome paid chapter. HEY, PEOPLE complaining about paying for the (optional) chapter 2: this game has a free movie and a large amount of content and NO ADS, it took around a year to make. Please stop whining about $1.99 for additional content from this very generous developer! We need to reward people like this so they can afford to make more!

I have really enjoyed playing the Rustic Lake / Cube games. This game was the one I started with, now I'm hooked. I do read comments of past players and noticed 2 puzzles that players think are glitches, they aren't. The 1st is the phone; ask any person born on the 50's/60's to show you how to use it! I'm old, was fine with it. The 2nd is the water tank, it works but is VERY HARD to get the order correct. I had to use YT to pass that one. Enjoy!

I agree with others that this is the best cube escape game yet! It was challenging yet intuitive (almost all of the time), and very creepy, in a good way. I was worried about the bugs that people mentioned but did not encounter any. Some, like the brain/faucet puzzle, just took a bit of thinking. I did use a walkthrough a couple of times, but more for hints than answers (this is why I prefer text walkthroughs instead of videos; just look at what's next instead of reading the full answer). I might not have even needed hints if I'd been more patient. Chapter 1 was nice and long, and I'm definitely going to purchase chapter 2, esp since it's affordable!

I'm kinda upset because when I played the first chapter, the TV was showing stuff fine. When I purchased the second chapter though, the TV wouldn't work. Not because I didn't turn it on but I think it's cause a game file didn't load. I looked at the walkthrough and I was doing everything right.in the game, but the TV in the walkthrough showed stuff. When I tried the same thing on my phone, my phone froze and I couldn't do anything. It took about 30 seconds to be able to turn my phone off. This happens every time I use the TV. If someone could tell me a solution that'd be great

A few moments of frustration ("how was I supposed to know that!?") don't spoil this beautiful, engrossing and unsettling game. It's a satisfying end to the series, partly because it doesn't shed too much light on dark corners. The fact that, unlike some of the previous Cube Escape games, it takes place in a single room - which, by a twisted reality, is made to feel like several rooms - is fitting, because Paradox is an exemplary room escape game, and perhaps the genre's first true classic.

Easily the best escape game I have ever played. Usually games like this tend to leave the story as an afterthought but the story on this game is what forces you to keep going. Mystery games and movies tend to have way too much dialogue at times. Everything is always more mysterious when the viewer is lost in the world. I will definitely be buying chapter 2. The only minor issue I have with it is its name. I feel like this type of game deserves a title more mysterious. Anyway, great work!

A superb puzzle game in the tradition of Myst. The uncanny ambience and surrealist graphics create a horror vibe without dipping into gore or violence much. The puzzles are challenging enough to be fun, but mostly indicated clearly enough that you can keep moving forward. A few times the game does dip into 'what the heck do I do here' territory (mostly cases where you wouldn't expect something to suddenly become interactable). The dialogue is stilted, but that actually only helps the creepy vibe

Must play for puzzle lovers. Loved the 1st chapter. Cant wait to play the 2nd. Great game. What I really liked about this game was that if you looked around long enough most of the puzzles you could figure out if you tried. I dont like it when the puzzles are so obscure that you have to play looking at a walkthrough every 5 minutes. This game was challenging but you could do it on your own. Puzzles were straight forward enough if you took the time to look for the proper clues. It was done really well to make it accessible to all players. alot of games seem like the developers are making puzzles that they know how to solve but they're not accounting for the fact that we didnt create the game and have no idea where there going with some of the puzzles.. this game wasn't like that and made sure u could get the job done with some effort..Right on point..Great job.

Enjoyable, if not a bit repetitive feeling towards the end. Some of the puzzles weren't very sensative to my phone, so I ended up having to look up the solutions, only to find I had the right idea, but I just wasn't tapping in the right way (case in point, drawing the door on the paper). Overall, I liked it, but not one of my favs of the Rusty Lake games.

Best Rusty Lake, alongside Roots for story. Make sure to watch the movie AFTER completing the game, to avoid spoilers. The puzzles are on the easy side except for one (clock puzzle in chapter 2 was confusing), and the game is short overall but very satisfying. I loved the way movie clips were integrated in gameplay. Poor Dale, poor Laura. Another bravura production from Rusty lake.
