Decent. Some of the news is good but when they ask for help locating someone they don't give details of what store (for example in Kitchener) was robbed and you can't zoom in on the pictures of the suspects to actually see them. Also I don't need to see the same article posted 3 times in the same sitting and the upgrade looks like they intentionally cut off some info at the end of the article (ex: info at the bottom of since images).

Very slow and inconsistent. Sometimes stories load, sometimes they don't. Other times stories will load but the first paragraph will be random characters and no words. The app has gotten worse recently. Failing to load stories consistently, jumping out of the app to a web browser to say "article not found", clicking on a story only for the top story to load.

I watch the local news broadcast on this app. Overall, ok in comparison to other news apps. (They all need work.) It buffers slow on ads, rather than the news itself like others. Frustrating: I almost always I get about half way thru, the ads start then run, run, run like on a loop. I have to click off, go back, and start all over again - but rarely bother.

Used to be good. Newest launch forces videos to play on an already small screen, when you select an article it defaults to taking you to a different article entirely (usually the "top read" but not always. Maybe a way to pad their stats?), and you cannot scroll all the way through your feed without a glitch reloading the content and sending you back to the top. Horrible experience.

Used this app for news for years, but not a fan of today's update. It name too cluttered, too busy, and you can't see the full headline anymore. The old format of separate news sections was great - if I wanted business news, I'd go to business section; and if I wanted a lighter selection of lifestyle, then I'd go to lifestyle. Now it's a complete jumble of everything in one bucket. Whoever thought that was an improvement?!

The app is mostly fine, except for the code that shows up in articles, right in the middle of paragraphs. I don't know if it's a photo that doesn't have the right file extension? As far as the content goes, there are quite a few sensational, clickbate titles, and missinformation. If you watch a story on television, then read it in the app, there is key info left out, changing the story. The content is very left leaning, and it's quite biased at times. There's alot of angry ranting and gossip.

I no longer use this app. It displays videos that cannot be closed. I chose and used the app in the first place because I could read articles at will. I rarely watch videos because they take too much bandwidth and time. Now, when I select an article, a significant amount of bandwidth and screen space is lost to a video I don't want and can't close, and to add insult to injury, it's preceded by an ad that I want even less.

Over all I think it hits all the bases. I feel that CTV has balanced coverage. I highly dislike the fact that the app just punts you to the CTV news page. And it doesn't do it well at all. I clicked on 10 different articles and they all went to the same one. Honestly, I know how to get to your website. I use the app for a reason, your website sucks. The app has always been better curated and more relevant to my location. Don't mess this up.

Incredibly slow app with daily glitches. Most articles don't load until the 3rd attempt to open. When trying to open an article, often a completely different one will load. Other times, it will open up your browser and bring you to a random CTV page. Articles are poorly written with multiple typos and grammatical errors. I have noticed a sharp decline over the last few years and have switched to a different news app.

Way, way, way too many commercials. Literally minutes of commercials to get on to the live TV feed, then more commercials one story in. This is not feasible. 15 second commercial for each story (not on feed) is reasonable. Live feed already has ads in stream; you don't need to put three minutes of ads to even access those feed ads. FFS.

CTV News and the national are Canada's number one station other than CBC News. Only that I watch it via YouTube and I have a problem with finding it on weekends.

this app used to be one that I use the most unfortunately since it's last update it's extremely glitchy and I cannot navigate it well I hope that they do an update to fix the bugs they've created on an app that used to be great

If an article is selected, why do I have to confirm that I want to read it? The swipe to another article is an annoyance and not a feature.

I love this app. I only wish there was a way to save articles . I'm unhappy that this app keeps shutting down. I have uninstalled the app and then reinstall it and still having problems with it shutting down.

App is not highly usable. When I am scrolling down an article (by swiping up), the next article often pops up. what the heck. Who designed that UX feature or thought it was a good idea??? It is so annoying and happens so often and there is no way to turn off the swipe feature/bug. The newest update just made this worse, not better.

would normally say the app is 3 stars too many video issues in the past. The app sucks now. Why do I have to scroll through the articles and find the one I am going to read to just have it bring up a new, even worse scroll option if I select an article, open it. This update was so stupid don't try to be Instagram. Be the news

I relied on this app daily for a month, but had to uninstall. It destroyed my battery life on a brand-new phone — draining it like we’re back in the early 2000s. It made me charge my phone 2–3 times a day for no reason. If CTV can’t even manage a basic mobile app without wrecking performance, I seriously question the judgment behind the news they publish. Total disappointment. Do better.

Good app but mobile data hog. On Android you can only restrict background mobile data use but this app continues to use mobile data even with it in the background. I try to use WiFi whenever possible and this app really needs to have a setting to restrict it's data use to WiFi only. Of course, on the iPhone, you can just disallow mobile use entirely to a given app so this wouldn't be a problem on iOS. Had to remove this app from my phone with the SIM chip.

This used to be a good app for news. Then they changed it to make room for ads. Half of the screen is now an ad you can't skip or get rid of, and it changes while you read so that it distracts you from what you are reading. This means that their ads are now more important than the news they are putting out for you to read. Uninstalled. Disappointing move forward from a (formerly) good app. This app only has 2.9 stars to begin with! You would think they would want to improve it, not make it wor

Good content (when it actually displays content), but poor design. After choosing a news section (World, Canada, etc.), and reading through that section, you have to scroll all the way back to the top to choose another section. Unable to zoom pictures or make them larger. No options for font sizes. Frequently shows "content not available" instead of news. Seems to think Northern Ontario stretches from North Bay to Sudbury - almost no news from Northwestern Ontario.
