Like the game, ads are a bit long though, but they only play in between games sometimes and if you ask for too many hints. The games are all quotes, seems a little repetitive after a while, would be nice if it was mixed up with some facts, dad jokes, 2 sentence horror stories, that sort of thing. Update- love the dad jokes, thank you!

I like it but I'm solving the legendary levels so fast that it's not much of a challenge. I still enjoy the snippets of philosophy and have actually learned of a few new great thinkers so for that I thank you. I also know you're limited to the English language and there's only so much one can do with it. Only critique is the symbol on the undo button seems more like a startover button and there should be a different backspace button that's more clear. The double start over tap is annoying.

It's a great cryptogram game. Lots of categories & four difficulty levels. Only problem that I've had is being unable to get into game settings: when I select it, a screen briefly appears & then I'm back to the setting category selection screen (Game Settings, Keyboard Settings, etc.) I can access all of the other settings. UPDATE: Latest update solved the Settings issue. Everything works fine. Great Crypto program! Devs very responsive. Added 5th star. Thanks Devs.

Great with a few bugs. I really enjoy this game. But there are some issues that drive me crazy. 1) Method of either backspace or replacing a letter isn't very clear. I frequently have to start over to change a letter. It would be wonderful if that would be made clear. 2) When the hint button is used, it's not clear where the hint has been used

Thanks for the reply! I set auto move on but it is inconsistent. It will work several times then stop advancing.... It's nice that it has a lot of puzzles, but the interface is not all that great. Two things would make it instantly better: using a standard keyboard layout, and the cursor automoving to the next unsolved letter once you put in a letter. It also feels a bit laggy overall.

This has been the best experience for me. Theres really not many ads at all. There are like 50 or more topics to choose from. There's a league that they take care of for you. And there's 5 different categories, from easy to legendary, that you can choose from. I share a few a day that stands out, on my Facebook for a discussion topic. Gaining lots of wisdom as well and it's a great brain game. It's just like the cryptoquotes that came in our old newspaper. My fav app because rare ads.

Overall, I did appreciate the smoothness of the interface and the auto-fill feature. Good app! Second puzzle I tried was missing a full stop. A 'report' button is provided, however. It would be fun to see an additional difficulty mode where spaces and punctuation are removed (...) Update: thank you to the Devs for pointing me towards 'guru mode'! Makes the game very challenging, and avoids the punctuation issue altogether!

Solid game, enjoyable experience, moderately challenging but not oppressively so. You never feel pressured to buy hints from the micro transaction store so it's not predatory like most games are. The ads that pop up are really infrequent and don't seem to contain malware. Rated one fewer star because there should be an option for a one time fee to buy the game and remove ads, but there's only a subscription.

This game makes a great time killer. Only problem I have is that the Game Settings from the Gear icon doesn't work. Every time I click on Game Settings, the screen immediately resets to the title screen. All other menus from the Gear icon work however. Edit: Changed review to 5 stars. The update fixing this problem was not available on all devices. Once the update pushed through, the problem was solved.

Good: Many themes, interesting quotes, share quotes Bad: No ad-free except for subscription. I've enjoyed this app and decided to pay for ad-free. Only, I was paying for a *subscription* which was NOT clearly stated. There is no ad-free option other than the subscription. I am uninstalling and looking for another program. :( If the subscription doesn't bug you, I think you might like this app -- there's several color themes (including ones good for playing at night) and the quotes are really interesting. I also like the "share" feature -- when I complete a cryptogram, I can look at the finished quote by itself and share the quote like a "meme" pic very easily.

Very nice app. Interface is slick, good looking, and very usable. But it's missing some standard cryptogram tools like letter frequencies, trial letter assignments with undo, and vowel markers. Probably not a fatal flaw though, even the hard setting is pretty easy. However, when working on "legendary" difficulty, letter frequency would be appreciated.

Decrypting quotes is good mental exercise and educational. The ads in this game are generally short and easy to close. Several areas need improvement: The target areas for selecting the letter to decrypt are small and it can take several tries to touch it in the right place. Sometimes the whole puzzle gets redrawn with different line breaks, which is annoying and distracting. Ads are shown immediately after decrypting the last letter before you have a chance to read the finished quote.

The ads are often, but short. Not too annoying. My only real complaint is that when you get to the end of the puzzle, if you had skipped a word, you have to scroll back to the top to find what word has a letter missing. If it can move to the next empty space, why can't it return to the start of the puzzle until complete? The other games I have played always worked this way, so it just seems annoying when I have to scroll to the top to do it myself. I know...so spoiled 🤣 My opinion for upgrade!

Kudos to the developer. The puzzles are good, very interesting quotes, jokes, etc. The choice of difficulty provides the challenge you can handle. And probably the most important aspect of this game is that it has a reasonable density of ads. I can play several puzzles in a row without having to view ads. I understand that ads are necessary for developers to be able to make money, but an ad after every puzzle is unacceptable as happens in many other games. Thank you.

There's room for improvement. It's difficult to select an individual topic. For example, if you're not in the mood for random quotes and want humor, you have to select humor for each time. The "hard" quotes are way easy. Quotes also lack proper credits, for example listing the author, without giving the title the work is from. Now and then the screen freezes and you have to reload. Lastly, backspace erases the space you're on, not previous spots. Mistypes take forever to correct. Overall Good.

Fun, sleek, simple, and not intrusive at all. One very short ad after every several levels. Only thing holding me back from a perfect score is that I very occasionally get repeat levels, and that the "no ads" option is a monthly subscription. If it was a one time purchase, I would have bought it immediately, even if it was significantly more expensive.

I love the app overall, I can easily sit and do puzzle after puzzle for hours. However, the actual quotations themselves need a serious overhaul. Every other puzzle is missing commas, periods, or other punctuation, and the quotes are clearly selected with no thought to how they would affect playability. Some are only three short words (like "Endure and survive."); one mentioned World War 3 as a Roman numeral; others have so many hints like contractions or common phrases they become obvious.

Good game, I enjoy solving the ciphers in my free time. Only noticed one major bug on a Samsung S20 FE: Any time either a) I leave the game running in the background and come back later or b) the game gives me an ad, it zooms in. That is to say, the ad is zoomed in, and when it ends, the game has zoomed in so that I can only see approximately the middle fourth of the puzzle. Closing and restarting the app fixes it, and it's the only bug I've seen. Rest of the game is great.

The singular best game I have ever played, and has given me hours of enjoyment. The quotes are meaningful, the ciphers fair, and the category selection has something for everyone. My only complaint is that there are a few grammatical errors that don't affect gameplay, and reporting the quote doesn't actually get that fixed, which is a bit annoying, although to be expected with a game that easily has hundreds of thousands of quotes.

Update: It looks like you can now disable the CryptoLeague. I look forward to playing again! It's a delightful way to spend a few minutes doing a fun puzzle. Previously: It's a great game but there needs to be a way to turn off the CryptoLeague. I turned it on and now it just taunts me and makes a relaxing game into something stressful. I no longer play much as a result.
