Like everyone else, I too hate the new look. Very clunky and cluttery. Now it doesn't tell you how many coins to get a new pack, the extra games that used to appear at the top are now replaced with a giant mess, and it's no longer clear when a new game is ready for me to play. It's awful. I've played this for years and am seriously going to have to look for a different app if this isn't fixed/improved. Update: it's 2 weeks later and I still hate the new format.Guess I'm looking for a new game:(

App is generally Ok. It's still cumbersome to use the key board, (often it highlights the existing letters rather than empty). Technically the app is fine, but the puzzles are borderline trivial. I am by no means an avid crossworder but if I can solve all of the puzzles in under 6 minutes there is a serious quality problem. I liked the app, but I really think they should have a difficulty setting to keep people engaged.

On 6/5/22 around 10:45 p.m., I purchased several packs and the coins were deducted but not all of the packs showed up. I can't seem to find a way to get this corrected.. This the best crossword puzzle I've seen. It's fun and quick!!! But the last 3 nights the "5 coins added if u watch a video" has not been working and I can't see a way to contact Technical Support. But now out of the blue it's working.

I use to love this game and play religiously every night. However, since the new update I struggle to make it through one puzzle without the app crashing and erasing my progress. Its beyond frustrating to the point that I just dont want to even bother.... I have send feedback emails informing them every time it crashes.. Until its fixed, I am going to find a new crossword app.

It's an okay game, not very challenging, and not fun anymore. They need to add a setting to confirm hint usage. DTC has that. It's too easy to hit when selecting letters from the bottom row of the keyboard. I can't count how many coins I've lost by bumping a premium button when heading for a letter. Now they've reduced the number of gifts you can give friends from 3 every 3 days to 1 every 3 days. Not worth playing anymore since they've crippled the "with friends" aspect. uninstalled and angry.

I think it's really fun. Not so complex that you can't finish in around 20 minutes. Kind of addicting as I want to keep doing puzzle after puzzle. Great time passer but also keeps my old mind a little sharper!! I don't think you will be a bit sorry if you try it!!! Oh and a big thing it doesn't cost money like some of these games that you have to pay to finish. So that's a BIG PLUS!!!

Update needs some QA. First puzzle I finished, game froze rather than showing an ad or the coin event reward. Have not been able to open puzzles in packs; they just spin, forcing a close and reopen. Also, I *sorely* miss the old packs menu, where I could quickly scroll through the packs and expand/collapse them to see which DotW were available in each pack. I do like the new look, and I'm sure I'll adjust to the new keyboard. But right now it's broken, and in other ways, a step backward.

Brilliantly crafted game, talented crossword authors, and perfect for crossword fans; new puzzle every day, with plenty of puzzle packs and other fun to keep you occupied. The glaring problem is that, although it is a free game, it's very difficult to play on a daily basis and achieve the goals within the game without adding money to your monthly bill. Worth it? Debatable.

I have always loved doing crossword puzzles, and having an electronic version is great. This one is very addicting and not ridiculously difficult to solve. UPDATE: As of early October 2021, I can no longer play this game. It keeps crashing before game even loads. I reported the problem, but it is still happening. I'm afraid I may be losing four years of progress.

Love the game. BUT my biggest complaint would have to be the crashes. I'll be in the middle or almost finished with a puzzle and its will freeze for a second and then completely close out. When I reopen it and go back to the same puzzle, it's lost all progress. Even if i had spent the 20 coins for "see wrong", that disappears also. It's really frustrating. Other than that, it's the best crossword app in the play store. In my opinion.-

Love the concept of this game, but EVERYTHING, EVERY complaint that others have mentioned are present still....in 2024! Crashing, freezing, lost progress, not receiving coins, badges, stars, bonuses, gifts from others....all still problematic. Here's the newest.... you must accept new terms etc. by end of February but there's no I accept button! I'm curious if CWF 2 works more smoothly but I don't want to exercise punishment gluttony

Game updated today. Before was constantly crashing and now wouldn't even load first mini puzzle! It seems odd that ads aren't a problem, just playing the game. I have quite a few games on my phone and this is the only one I ever have a problem with. UPDATE: Was put in deep sleep to avoid damaging my phone. Why can't the issues with this game be addressed? Constantly freezing up and crashing

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Game crashes all the time even after y'all said you're going to fix it, which is a lie. The theme puzzle from two nights ago crashed as i completed it, and it will not complete. Are Y'all going to fix it or continue bull sh!#!ng me saying you're going to fix the crashing issue? Plus, support will not submit my issue. I have a screen recording of the game in continuance that will not complete. Quit lying to people and fix the crashing issue. You're not looking into the issue.

Really enjoyed this app but lately it constantly crashes after 2 puzzles. Always have to reload it. Also still requesting a Darkmode option because I play this to fall asleep and sometimes the white background is too bright even with my brightness all the way off. 3/3/2024: still would really love a dark mode option. and same problem is still happening.

January 2024: Still have these issues and more.October 2023 uodate. Continues to have the same issues. Guess they don't really care about user problems. Jan 2023 update. Constantly crashes, won't let me watch the ads for coins until I've tried to watch the ad 3 or 4 times in a row. Freezes up. These issues are not new problems and for the record, I have a new phone so it's not because my phone is old 2020: Everytime this app updates my history clears out and it looks like I've not played at all.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD! I continue to still have issues with this game. It has been going for over 6 months now. My Daily Calendar game streak is lost at least twice a month. When I complete a puzzle, it doesn't record that it was done and the game won't load or it freezes. I contacted support several times to get my game progress back, and they are not helpful. They said it is on my end, but I do everything they suggest. It is a waste of time and money if you buy coins for the game.

This is an updated review from one I posted in 2019. The last time I got a new phone, the game kept crashing. The Zynga team was responsive and tried to help, but problems continued. I played one puzzle, the game would crash. I reopened, and sometimes would have to play again. Now I have switched to a Samsung Galaxy A15. I see my progress has transferred, but have spent 1/2 hour accepting Puzzle Packs I won years ago. Haven't been able to play a single game yet!

Editing my review because app keep crashing, sometimes more than once. I have to "spend" my coins and replay the puzzle in order to get credit for doing said puzzle. Award coins more often instead of having to "download" something to get more before reaching goals. Make it so that if you skip tutorial you can go back so that you can get coins for finishing. Still having issues with crashing.

May 13th. Still awful . Thisclose to uninstalling it. So here it is January 25th and every time I go to play it goes off and I have to restart the game . It's happened 4 times already this morning I love this game but since I updated a few months ago It has started freezing up and closing. It gets tiresome. And a year later it still freezes up. You definitely need to fix it. That's why I'm changing it to 1 star. Very unreliable game.

I've deleted my old review - it costs too much/mo, excessive crashes, etc. Now I need to mention your 3 checkmark box. If it crashes while completing a daily puzzle the check doesn't appear. I used to just pay to 'do over'. But that no longer corrects the issue. It doesn't seem to effect the record keeping for getting them done, or I would have gotten at least on restart on my daily puzzles completed streak. So far. Please fix the check, but don't break the record keeping to do it!
