Updated: Sometimes if I close the app and reload it, it will load. Most of the time, I have to use a different app to watch the episode. NEW: Reinstalled today, will give it a test later today. New Update: After uninstalling I was able to play one DVR with no issue. Newest update: It is specifically the DVR that isn't working. Tested twice, forced closed app with no change. That is correct, and I am trying to view on my home network, with the Panoramic + Advanced TV.

The app will not allow you to mirror your phone's screen. So if you have paid 300+ dollars to purchase movies but no longer have contour service, you are only able to watch the movies you have PURCHASED on your phone's screen. The only way to view them on a larger screen is to pay the extra 110 dollars to get a streaming box and then pay an additional monthly fee to be able to watch the movies that you have already paid for.

Cox I love the usefulness of the app...and i love using the app on both Android and iOS, but i noticed that the app for iOS is far more advanced, intuitive, and modernized. Any clue on when Android will get the same look? For example, on iOS i can do a PIP view, while searching for something else, or I can leave the app, but still have a small window playing what I'm watching. I would love to see the technology and ease of the GUI make its way over to the Android side. Thank you!

Still worthless after a year-and-a-half. Became completely unusable on my old phone a year-and-a-half ago – live TV and DVR would just show a black screen and progress meter and occasionally flicker a distorted still photo of the show for a moment before saying Sorry Having Difficulties. Just got a new phone, Samsung 23 Ultra. As hoped, the app worked perfectly on the new phone. Twice. Then reverted to the same old behavior. Cox should give us all discounts for this worthless "feature".

For all those who keep saying it's pointless to use at home... not all rooms in my house have cable (older home). So I use it on a tablet oriented landscape on a stand which makes for a mini TV in rooms without cable. But as far as the app, yeah it's slow to load. Even on a modern device with WiFi 5 (ac) @ 300+ mb/s on a 1 Gbp/s LAN. It's not my connection, it has to load the channel list/guide at startup and everytime you want to change the channel, which makes it kinda frustrating to use.

It's common for it to not be able to play a tv show for hours at at time. Plus, this new version requires one to turn on high accuracy location mode if you want to use your GPS. Requiring this (vs. just the GPS enabled) forces one to allow other apps and services to use your personal data in ways many of us don't want. Why does COX require us to compromise our privacy and security, enabling other applications to do things we don't want!

The Cox Contour app sucks. It hangs or pauses constantly. Like other have said, you have to pause then restart. I use this primarily on my Samsung tablet. Can't even watch sports as most of it is missed for this reason. The odd thing is Netflix, Amazon Prime, Tubi, YouTube, and Discovery all play just fine. They keep telling me it's my connection. Sure, that's why everything else works as advertised. Thank you to Cox for an expensive service that works terribly, much appreciated!

I've used this app for some time and have generally had no issues. However the reason for my low rating is because of a problem streaming from my wifi. At the end of an advertisement, streaming freezes. I have to then restart streaming by tapping the play/pause button several times. Once the next ad ends, streaming freezes again, so on and so forth through all ads. It makes trying to watch a program tedious for sure. I hope you come up with a fix soon or some tips to help. Thanks!

This a very good app but basic, it need a few upgrades to make it the ultimate app 1. Multi-tasking, a pop up viewing- so we can watch tv,listen to the music channel while browsing in the app2. auto play- when we click on something it should start playing instead of bringing us to another page(which is the same as before) just to ask us to play it.3.watching screen should be bigger like its just a small box now 4.font setting-to see whats on, i have to click on everything just to read the title.

Video is in slow motion and slightly out of sync with audio. I have a strong Wifi signal. This was also the case with the previous version. For example I can watch Fox news live on their app and I have perfect video and audio but on the contour app video slow and audio out of sync. The other problem is the screen jumps to BLACK then back to normal maybe 5 or 6 times per minute Samsung Galaxy s7 edge, 8.1 OS

This application would be great if you were able to cast to a TV. My mini box decided to go completely hairwire and stopped working. I haven't been able to get a replacement yet. I would like to watch the cable I pay for on a/my TV. This app is good to use when I have no other choice but to go watch TV on my phone or laptop. My poor eyeballs don't like looking at my phone constantly like a millennial. It gives me a headache. I can cast on most other streaming apps like YouTube. Fix this Plz!

I used to enjoy this app a lot, but now it aapears to have some sort of android bug. It used to work on my phone. It now goes blank when I try to choose something to watch. I have tried to contact Cox at least three times, but attempts at fixing this always hit a mysterious pause when I am told that they are puzzled or "someone will call you." They haven't yet.

The latest version is terrible.I have to give location permission.I only have access to a few channels outside of home and I can't watch shows I record on the app(update 5/23... the app after a new version is worse. If I could give less than one star I would. It still requires location to be on. Now I have to go channels that I can only watch with a subscription. it's pointless to have the option. This app was much better a year ago

I go on the app for support after doing 3 system refreshes that haven't fixed the issue of audio dropping and picture freezing. I have to chat with a bot which was useless. I finally get it to tell me to type "live agent" to chat with a human. I have to repeatedly type it as it doesn't actually want to allow me to reach a human. Then it said 'try again later'. Worthless. Update: My wifi speed test shows download at 27 Mbps, upload at 3.97. Still having problems w/ tv for 2 weeks now.

I use an android phone, I have used the app for a while and it has always been glitchy and overall, not a good app. Sadly there are not a lot of options where I live. This service is among some of the worst I have ever had to deal with. I have restarted the wifi, I have called for a service person, I have talked to tech support and so on. Nothing helps! But without fail, the bill arrives and they take their money without worrying about the customer. I HATE COX!!!!

Constant crashing. This app freezes playback constantly. Have to be on your home wifi for most of the on demand programs even after signing in with an account is pointless. If I could connect to home wifi I would have my TV in front of me and I wouldn't need to watch in this app. Update 2/2/21 Hey COX. News flash. My connection is from your internet which is strong enough to run every streaming service with no problems. Except this app. I have a mesh network with Google. It isn't a WiFi issue.

Garbage app. god forbid you pause your show to idk get the door. Come back expecting to resume and guess what it freezes. If you go back into the app and try to resume it automatically restarts the program. I am already close to canceling service because of the insane prices. This app is pushing me to cancel even more. DO NOT GET THIS APP ITS NOT WORTH IT!

Watching the Met game and all of a sudden the app starts playing the game in Spanish. (not the first time this had happened, usually I just put the TV on in the other room and turn up the volume). I checked the settings and English is selected. Tried it on another device --same issue. On a lark, I selected SPANISH and sure enough it switch to English (and the great Mets announcers). This needs to be fixed. Paying a lot for Cox (and not happy I cannot stream from outside my home).

This app would be useful if you could cast to tv, especially for times when cable is out due to weather or while waiting on another refurbished box to replace the old refurbished box. No need for contour app since you can go to individual channels apps (tlc go, fox go etc) and enter cox account info then cast. Also, "my recordings" are listed on the contour app, but you aren't able to watch them.

Out of home worked fine a month ago. Now it's a constant buffer. My WiFi is working great, everything else works good and even fast. I sign in from example, Discovery channel app and it works, no problem. So that confirms that it's not an issue on my end, it's you Cox. It's your app that you advertise and offer. If Cox was a person and came to my place of employment, right now I would stand there and piss you off by buffering for a couple of months.
