Worst app. I'm a busy mom, so I'm used to doing things on my phone and walk away for a while. If I let the screen time out mid message, your message will be gone, you have to save as a draft and it takes forever to save or go back to the message. App is constantly shutting down, it's very slow, and it doesn't let me send messages while inmate isn't in detention (I message a weekender) also they don't get the message till almost a week later. I would give a 0 star if I could and find another app.

This is a HUGE improvement from the website on a phone! But, there still is one very annoying feature. The screen times out WAY too fast or if you change screens and then you lose what you wrote. I'm SERIOUSLY tired of that from the other version. PLEASE set up something to either automatically send it to drafts, like regular email, or allow us to change screens and come back. I just answered a phone call and lost EVERYTHING I wrote. It's an APP for a SMARTPHONE. It's designed to multitask!!

This app is full of false advertising! None of the features that you see are actually available, and when you call customer service, you get lied to about the app "updating". The only thing you can do is send and receive messages, if the inmate has credits on their end, because even though it says that you can buy credits for them, you really can't. Oh and according to Customer Service, that's part of the update that apparently is happening in some sort of time paradox, because it's been ages!

This site is near impossible to get on. This is a great way to stay in touch....if it worked! Once on the site, it may randomly kick you off. Worse yet is a glitch may come along and the message you had been typing for a hour is completely gone! You could even saved it as a draft! I can say after a 3rd or 4th time sending a message....you have lost the emotional effect of the original message! The phone calls are not cheap and on numerous occasions have had them disconnected!

Nice to have an app instead of using the mobile version of the website. Costs money either way. A lot simpler - straight to the point. The app does occasionally stall while processing payments or other data and the whole facility, inmate, etc interface isn't fully functional and kinda superfluous... It's like a different way to get to the same result. Penal system is all about choices. It does make prepaying for a phone number pretty easy.

With all the technology today you would think that this app wouldn't be so crappy. So many simple issues like it makes me sign in every single time! It can take up to 5 minutes just to switch from one page to the next. I'd like to be able to see which messages I've missed like an email. Once you've read it, it's no longer bold. I've had 2 new messages for weeks but i can't find these new messages I've missed. Make the unread messages in BOLD like email please.

I can put $$ on for calls and receive them without any issues. However, I don't have the ability to do emails and I was told by a CST svc rep who barely spoke a language I could understand to uninstall and reinstall. I did this a couple times to no avail. Its heartbreaking when they are on lockdown and emails are the only way to communicate and it's a total failure.

This app sucks and what make it worse is not having another choice. When signing in,, there's a box to check to save my information but it doesn't. If it's having issues downloading a message or photo (which happens ALOT) you have to sit there and wait for that wheel to stop spinning before you can do anything else..which could take up to 10 minutes. There's no way to stop it and move on. Just makes a frustrating situation more frustrating.

Unreliable app. Tried multiple times to add funds and received an error message saying something to the effect of "we don't know if your payment was processed or not. If it was you will get an email confirmation". Also had problems updating payment methods in the first place, would not accept new card and app just reloads the same screen. No error message or popup to tell you what the problem is. I had to close out of the app and start over to get it to work. This app is just as bad as their website, which is also unreliable. All the money you guys make from the prison industrial complex you should have state of the art websites and apps.

I had this 3 years ago and it worked fine that first year, then suddenly it crashed. It's been 2 years and I still can't get it to work. Now if I tap the app, onscreen is the message: Unfortunately Connect Network GTL has stopped. I can't get the app to open. I tried clearing its data and cache, but it has no improvement.The staff has tried to help me, but still did no good. It should be simple to operate!!!

Not an optimal experience. My Request2Call button NEVER works, not once. I can't make a payment for credits without an issue. If you tap the wrong button and you end up in a different screen or your cell times out, you lose everything you wrote. You pay to send pictures but it chops the picture down by 1/3. The inmates can't get messages out. We're paying for a service, it'd be super if it worked properly... I *do* like that I can send a short video though.

GET THE APP FIXED!!! I've been trying to add money to the advanced pay for my brother to call and it keeps giving me an error! It's absolutely frustrating, especially when the alternative is almost four times the cost of doing it this way! This problem looks like it has been going on for quite some time; I can't see why some sort of fix hasn't been found yet! Inconceivable!!

This app is horrible! Message transmission times is ridiculously slow, sometimes taking days. Emoji's cannot be used/seen. The app doesn't have BASIC functionality such as the ability to delete emails from your inbox, sent, delete, draft folders. In addition you CANNOT DELETE INMATES. Once they're added as contacts they are permanently on your profile.

Glad this was available, was better than nothing. If you are in the middle of typing a text message to inmate, don't go to another page/1app on android phone, to try & attach a photo-not even facebook. Photos cannot be attached no matter how you try! You will lose all text typed in unsent mssg, if you change pages, then have to start all over! App gives vague "how to" very confusing!

I use the app to send money and messages. It would be great if there was a feature that automatically saved messages to draft if you switch out of the app. I've had an app pop up or a phone call and it takes me off GTL. I go back and I have to re enter my pin and my message is gone. So frustrating! Could be 5 stars for me. Please add an auto save feature! For sending money, the rates are comparable to other apps and the funds get there quickly.

My messages say they sent successfully, but they do not send, do not show up in my sent folder, and my credits are not deducted. I would very much like to keep in touch this way, especially since I have already paid for the credits. I have called customer service twice and sent an email. They finally opened a ticket today. hoping my issue gets resolved! Using the app to put time on the phone is a breeze. I haven't used it for the trust fund yet.

I can't read messages recieved when I have them and have credits without first sending a message. Now I'm having trouble sending pictures when I've never had that issue before. Also it keeps putting my password in the username box when I use auto-fill. This is the only app that does this. I've even totally erased my username and password, then reentered it to see if that fixed the issue. It did not.

Continuing to glitches all the time. Was fine till the outage on Saturday. Now, the app doesn't work properly. Messages in inbox, then not there. Same for sent and drafts. Really bad that they can't fix the stupid thing. So many people rely on this app to stay connected to family and friends who are incarcerated. FIX THE DAMN APP. Now it tells me the inmate isn't in my account, and I have to add them. I just sent two messages earlier. Get up and fix your app. This is really getting annoying!!!

UPDATE: Its most recent app update has completely deleted my account!! Oh my...when I first downloaded it was great, now about 6 months in its horrible. Can't log in, changed my password, reinstalled several times. No response from support...very irritated. Still have 3 years to deal with this junk!! Weeks later n still the same issues, worked sort of for a minute now again im not able to login on app or online. Pops error report that disappeared before I can read it! Very very frustrating!!

The app is easy to use and navigate. I noticed around the 2 week mark the app would sign me out of my account when I closed it. I had it setup to run in the background with unlimited data usage. You can't always find your inmate on the app unfortunately. They will still be able to ring your phone as long as you deposit funds on your account. Other than those hiccups the app is overall pretty decent.
