Consistently notifies me someone is at the door hours after they actually were and then just takes over my phone screen until I decline or accept the incoming message that doesn't even exist anymore. Combined with the constant notifications I get from random people choosing my name because it is the top of the list makes me hate that I have to use this app to actually use the door system in my apartment building.

granting access from the videocall does not work. I have to close it and unlock the gate from the app. it shouldn't be this difficult to open a door.

Half the time when I need to open a gate all the app does is give me a please wait, doing something spinning circle!

Update 02-27-2024: I had explained my setup in my original review. The issue still exists even after an update to the app. It would be great if you could invest some time to optimize your app , instead of posting standard responses. ------------- Original review: it's a battery hog as sated by other users. That too, for doing nothing. The battery consumption by this app I extremely high even if I restart my phone and never open this app. I am using Android 14 with the latest updates.

The android version has lost a lot of features, and tech support isn't putting any effort to fix. All they care about is the apple version. Very poor support. Does not work with MyQ anymore

Unreliable app. The gate entrance is hit and miss on notifying me when someone is entering a code for our place. We no longer get video. We used to. History only has dates and times. Prevous videos (when we did get them) are gone.

Edit: I worked with support who patiently stayed in touch and worked with their devs to provide an update that fixed the issue. Original review below. This thing is a battery hog! If left unwatched, my battery will drop 30% in a few hours. I can see all the usage is this app from Android's battery monitoring. I'm stuck force killing it after anytime I open it, and I'm still not sure if it won't try to grab background access. This is even with battery usage set to restricted. Pixel 8

Doesn't always work. Someone from co called and said they would look into my issues and never called back. Within last week, updated version demands that I enable location services every time I open. UPDATE - app developers didn't help and just tried to convince me to turn on location services. Useless and disappointing. 2nd UPDATE - Downgraded to one star. New app does not work at all. Indecipherable how I am supposed to open my gate. It was a terrible app before that is completely useless now

BEWARE! Worst thing that our HOA has implemented! Imagine fumbling around to get your phone out of your pocket or purse, look for this app, then press the right button in the app to open the correct gate to your community. Why? Because there's no Android Auto app! Then if you have more than 2 drivers in your home, you have to pay $20/yr per driver to install the app on their phone! I hope our HOA allows us to continue using our old gate remote control and the one built-in to our cars (Homelink).

Unable to provide app to foreign owners. Has great potential but why area locked for gated communities, as high end locations are usually mixed local and foreign owned. Also not suitable for AirBnb type properties due to same issue. It's a very strange business model.

It was a little buggy but went completely haywire with the new update. I can't use the access area to unlock anything. I've uninstalled and logged out of this app so many times and still nothing. I'd give 0 stars if I could, this is extremely frustrating.

this blows Edit: it's not a good format for opening an apartment complex gate. For one, you must have a cell phone to open a gate. That's at baseline not convenient compared to a key or keychain dongle. Second, you either have to arrive at the gate, and stop, then shuffle through your apps, find the app and wait for it to open, then scroll through, in my case, a long list of entry points to find the gate I need to open. It's so slow, and sometimes buggy, and I need to drive to another gate.

App is unstable. Ever since I installed this app, my text notifications are unable to play a sound. And when I type on the keyboard, I do not hear the clicking sound that I'm supposed to hear. When I call myself from the call box, I don't always get the same results. It can also take up in 60 Seconds for my call to go through from the call box to my phone. When my phone rings, the caller ID shows an area code from Ohio. My question to MyQ is am I a beta tester for your software?

This app works, well, it opens the gate to our community as advertised, but now I have to fumble with my phone to open the gate. My phone connects to my vehicle via Bluetooth and is sitting on a wireless charger. This arrangement is perfect for driving because once I'm driving, I don't need to touch my phone because it is synced through my vehicle. Now I have to pick up my phone, unlock the screen, and find the app, which requires me to take my eyes off the road. An icon on my vehicle is needed.

My complex adopted this app at least six months ago, and it has been a huge improvement over the previous system. It provides quite a few extremely useful features. I love that I can pre-open the gate, so I don't have to come to a complete stop when pulling in. The only downside is that the widget does seem to exist - from what I can tell - and the occasional brief outage, which may be a local issue and not an app issue. (S22 running One UI 6.0)

I'm so irritated at this nonsense. What a horrible idea. I already hated using my pin to get into my phone, opening the app, and pressing an icon that is hit or miss, just to get into my apartment complex. I've also had to sleep at work because my phone died and I couldn't get into my complex. Also, it's 2024. There are no widgets or integration with Android Auto. Rubbish.

Suddenly the unlock button on the Access tab for the gate no longer works. Working with customer support on the website is very challenging because they aren't equipped to help, you always get told to call another number etc. It worked brilliantly for a long time (they even made it one tap and faster rather than a long press action) then suddenly the button you need to open the gate disappears.

It works fine until you have any network or connectivity issue. At that point it enters a death spiral where it won't work or reset right. While it offers extra features over a clicker its just too unreliable. Just for how obviously inept the devs are the last star is gone. Bluetooth does not help and has been enabled since day 1. Its pretty clear this app is set to degrade.

Three issues: (1) grant access doesn't work, and you have to find someone inside Chamberlain to get debugging support. (2) not enabling location sharing and not using the features it enables is a VALID AND REASONABLE CHOICE. Stop hassling me and taking up screen real estate every time I do something in the app to turn on location sharing. (3) I want more app notification options, e.g. if the door to the building has been open for more than N minutes.
