Asks you 3 high level questions, then offers you irrelevant courses. Then you're sent to their website instead. A useless app.

New sound alert on the app needs to go. You know how literally now ever asked for an alert when you answer a question. why would you add this with out an option to mute it.

App is currently broken. Practice topics are repeating and the daily hot streak didn't increment, breaking my long record........

One might expect to be able to use the app to do the actual lessons (the main reason we use CodeAcademy), but this only gives you some flash cards and cheetsheets, making it essentially useless.

I am highly disappointed with Codecademy. After solving programs, it’s almost impossible to proceed further because whenever we try to submit or check our work, it keeps loading for hours (sometimes even 2 hours) and nothing happens. For the past 2 days, I couldn’t make any progress due to this issue. The support team is also very poor. They don’t provide quick solutions, and there’s no option to directly talk to a customer care agent on call. It feels like they don’t care about user problems.

If you haven't enrolled in many courses or paths, then you'll only have the same 4 or 5 practice sets to use. You'll start to notice the same questions after a while. So, keep your rotation large and varied. If the developers went through and added even more questions, it'd only be better.

This does not compare to the browser well at all. This app is primarily flash cards of the same content, regardless of where you are in the course on the browser; and the smart practice is the same few questions. Not a mix of questions from a small question pool: its the same question pool. Not worth using after 5 minutes, which also means its not worth downloading.

Good for a quick on the go review or to keep your daily streak going and that's it. It's all flash cards and fill in the blanks and the card packs that you get repeat all the time. Several user created cards end up in your study packs and half the time they are straight up garbage with incorrect answers or no way to properly solve the problem. Don't fool yourself into thinking you are learning and look elsewhere for more serious study. App receives no updates. Don't bother.

A lot of work went into this but the but the navigation is terrible. Its hard to understand when back gestures will take you completely out of a lesson. Some lessons you can't access because they are grey and that must mean something but I'm they don't say that. Then the info in the lessons are presented at random and sometimes they give you different information. The lack of consistency is hard to deal with while learning.

Only thing I've tried to learn coding on, but I'm chugging through the lessons, staying challenged, and starting to find practical use in what I've learned in just a couple weeks. Mobile app is good for a mobile app version of it, can't do everything but it's nifty stuff like flashcards and fill in the blank. Good way to stay fresh when you're afk.

Terrible app! I've been trying to go through a lesson for the past 10 minutes. The app sends you to an external web browser and page. And almost every action to navigate within that webpage force-closes the whole browser and then resets the connection between app and browser. The webpage might be great. I'll try it when I get the chance but, this app is getting deleted.

I have a Codecademy account with Gmail and am able to log in easily to the app. The app is quite nice and I find a variety of questions using the unpaid version by finishing the practice questions and selecting the "Get another pack" option that appears below after completing the module. There is some overlap or repetition I questions, but not nearly as much as others seem to report. It is great practice that helps remind me of concepts as a beginning, which I find very important for retention.

Update: I was finally able to sign in on the app. I will reserve a 5 stars for it until I am able to poke around it some more. I signed up with an email on the desktop and then found the app. Every single time I try to sign in on the app it says it's unable to log in to make sure it's a valid account or try again later. Can't use an app I can't sign into.

Wonderful for reviewing but I was really hoping to take my lessons on the go. I work a full time job and on my breaks I would have loved to sneak in some bits of lessons. Instead I'm reviewing with this flashcard like app. For being a Pro member I'm quite disappointed, I expected more. Especially for the amount paid for Code Academy Pro. This app shouldn't even be locked to Pro members for its contents. Maybe if you were to make the actual lesson paths mobile, then it could be locked to Pro.

I do like Codecademy thier website is amazing especially if you subscribed to Pro, but for the app there needs to be more especially if you are paying for a subscription. There are other apps that will actually let you practice coding and go through the course without needing a computer. This comes in really handing especially when some of us work 50 hours a week and only get to use their apps on breaks most days. Other then that you guys doing a really great job!!!

Unable to use the app, at all. I get logged in, and immediately get logged out. Or I log in, start doing excersized and as I'm doing them, it logs me out on its own. Each time I try to log in I get a message "too many log-in attempts", even though I just logged in for the first time... Reinstalling the app doesn't help at all.

Little disappointed to see that the language I had been working on, C, couldn't be done on this app... But it's not bad. The system is great and very user friendly. It took me like a minute to login for the first time because all you have to do is just click the login with email button. But I was really hoping to have C be in the language list and it's not.

I am leaving this review about the PRO version: I got interested in coding a little over a year ago. I discovered codecademy, did a little on the basic plan, and they had a 50% off deal so I thought why not. For me the biggest downfall is help. If you are stuck on a problem or just want to know why something works the way it does, you have no one to ask. Your best bet is the community but nothing is guaranteed. I Feel like this has been my biggest setback in terms of learning much.

Due to my limited free time i was unable to make full use of my subscription. I really enjoyed the site, there were a few times i wish they included a better example or more instruction but overall its worth the money if you have the time to commit. Unfortunately I don't think I will be renewing my subscription due to the fact that i cant always access my computer to make use of the site. If they make it so that you can practice coding on the app instead of just flash cards id come running back
