NETFLIX MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.
Build sprawling cities, invest in cultural progress and forge alliances — or wage war. The world is yours to lead in this classic strategy game.

Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, "Civilization" is a turn-based strategy game in which you go head-to-head with history's greatest leaders as you build an empire to stand the test of time. Whether you're brand new to turn-based strategy or a seasoned 4X expert, this vast tactical world-building game gives you the tools to start a civilization and guide it from the first Stone Age settlement to the stars.

With this version of "Civilization VI," Netflix members have access to all expansion packs and content included in the Platinum Edition of the game. The only thing you need to establish a legendary empire is time and a finely honed strategy.

FROM VILLAGES TO KINGDOMS

• Develop each city into a bustling metropolis, turn by turn and tile by tile. Build improvements, districts and wonders to make strategic use of resources nearby; train new units to defend your territory and explore the world around you.

• As your empire expands, choose the right scientific and civic advances to fuel growth, increase your political influence and give you an edge against regional rivals in trade or war.

MANY PATHS TO VICTORY

• Forge lasting power as you build your civilization through the centuries, from a medieval kingdom to a modern superpower.

• With multiple ways to win, every strategy is viable: Will you battle it out for military dominance? Avoid war through clever diplomacy? Or focus on resource management to leap ahead in technological discovery?

A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES

• This Netflix edition of the award-winning 4X strategy game includes the "Rise and Fall" and "Gathering Storm" expansions, plus more content packs that open up new regions and cultures. With a huge array of civilizations and scenarios to choose from, rewrite history however you want to.

• Play alone, with up to four players in local multiplayer mode, or with up to six in hotseat mode on the same device.

It's a great game, but the save feature isn't reliable. I've played 2 different civs now, gone through the steps to save the game, then it doesn't show up on the load screen. The auto save feature worked with a 3rd civ I played, but not my current one. This game is already a huge waste of time, but when you can save the progress from the time you wasted, it's unbearable.

Sadly... Simply doesn't work. Just gets stuck at the title screen with a "pause" button with nothing to actually do. UPDATE: After toggling on and off wifi, it started to download, and then stalled with 2GB to go. I cleared some space (even though I had more than 2GB free) and it eventually finished. Now that I'm actually in the game- it is pretty flawless!

I guess others already know how to play this game? The tutorial is horrible and even on a rather large phone, there's lots of reading in extremely small print that is hard to read. Even though it also somewhat shows you what decisions still need to be made, it is often unclear which options you're supposed to choose from. Example, I'd already selected an option at my city to begin research, but it would still sit on the city as if I still needed to choose something instead of moving to the next.

Needs "undo" option for unit movement. Even if it's just once per unit per turn, and not in combat. The amount of times I've accidently sent a unit to the wrong place while trying to scroll the screen or just accidently hit the wrong tile is ridiculous. Or add an option to have confirmation buttons for unit moves.

This game is frustratingly fun. Unfortunately, I don't find it worth my time anymore. Much like Civ 5, this game is either way too easy or way too hard with no middle ground. When I pick the immortal difficulty, I run over all the other civs and they have no army. when I bump it up to deity, I have no chance. If there was a middle ground and the computer civs played like an actual human would, I would have a much better experience.

Works perfectly on my Pixel 9 Pro XL and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. After putting in a few hundred hours into the game on PC it's nice to have a version that fits in my pocket while feeling just like the PC version. I do wish there were graphic and resolution settings. It's a bit blurry on a large tablet, but doesn't really take away from the enjoyment.

I've just started playing this with no previous experience. I changed settings to confirm before moving and always show resource info and my experience has really improved. I was having the same problem of accidentally moving units where I didn't want them to go. I'm looking forward to seeing where the game goes beyond the first couple of eras. This is a game I can keep coming back to over long periods of time. Yes it is large, which is necessary to play all the fun features of a PC game.

I've seen the chaos of the other release, charging high prices for a terrible experience, this however, made me subscribe to Netflix again. I can't believe how well it runs on my phone (s21), 300 turns in. Feels close enough to the PC edition. I'm not a mobile gamer, and this is a comfy, yet deep experience. The custom game options got me excited. Very impressed with this release. Def worth it the Netflix sub.

I wish the units & buildings had a button to go right to the game info page instead of having to look up by clicking the question mark button & word search each time. still a very good game free with Netflix & supports cloud saves. dead cells via Netflix did not & I lost all progress when I changed phones. update: they really need to get more variety of music tracks. the 1800s American sounding track with marching drum makes it hard to concentrate. I'm sick of that track.dropping stars for this

New: Game runs much more smoothly with only a couple crashes, usually because of switching in and out of wifi, however now it auto saves every turn, so you don't lose much! Old: Crashes frequently. I'll change this rating if it gets fixed, because the game plays really well and is a pretty good port, however the crashes combined with a long start up time, and having to redo all the actions you took the turn it crashed is really annoying. I once played for just a few minutes before it crashed.

Great! This is the full game of Civilization VI, including all the DLCs like Rising Storm, and all for free! (if you have a Netflix subscription, which most Americans do I believe). My only concern is optimization for cell phones. This game is a memory suck. It overheats your device, eats its battery, and crashes every 50 turns or so when your phone overheats to the point that it can't keep up. DO NOT attempt playing this on an older device (2020 or earlier). Ice packs are useful.

Remarkably well adapted mobile version of the iconic PC game. I've loved playing Civ for many years, but I haven't had a chance to as of late given constraints of finding time in front of the PC. The mobile version gives all the benefits while also allowing easy, quick start and stops (at least, once you can get last the urge for 'one more turn')

Super frustrating. I've been playing Civ since 1995 and never had it be so buggy that I have to wait 24 hours to just take a turn. It's pretty, and should be a lot of fun, but the UI is highly inconsistent as options just disappear at random. I'm running the game on the latest (as of yesterday's system update) version of Android on a year-old top-of-the-lineup Samsung, so you can't blame the hardware or system software. Makes me sad that my favorite game of literally 30 years is so hard to play.

Playing on a cellphone can be very challenging. The only way I mitigated this was by using my stylus and some reader glasses! I imagine that it is pretty sweet on a tablet. Other than that, this is a special NetFlix version of the Platinum Edition (PE) - different from the Steam version of the PE. I have tried to get a multiplayer game going with this version, but there are only two options: Hotseat and LAN. However, the LAN won't connect with my Steam/PC version, even when I match the DLC.

A great port of Civ6. I never thought it would have been possible to play this over mobile. There are still a few issues/bugs: 1) there is no way to access the world competitions screen to see how you're doing, 2) you can't see strategic resource consumption (what units are using up all of your oil), 3) it's not possible to move units over long distances (rendering mountain tunnels useless). Game doesn't include all the DLC, so no Ramses or corporate monopolies. Still, Aspyr did an amazing job!

Phenomenal, addictive game. I've lost hours of my life. Great port to mobile. Only complaints: - Long start-up time - Can't switch between apps (game resets very quickly) - Achievements don't retain well - they continually drop off for me Overall, excellent game, though would be nice to see the above items fixed.

I played this by trial and error after trying the useless tutorial, which left me stuck with no moves available. What little I did get from the tutorial didn't match the game, so my city slowly died or drought. I finally deleted the game. FYI... You only get 60 turns. even if you succeed you eventually lose. I've enjoyed Civilization on PC and Xbox. This was not the same. Playing on a 6.5 inch screen is a waste of time.

Love it when it works. The June 2025 update broke the game for me. Won't get past the load screen when starting a new game. I reported it to 2k, they asked me to make a ticket with aspyr. Aspyr sent an automated message saying the ticket will be archived in 30 days. hopefully that means they know about the issue and are working on it. I'll update the review if they fix it. the Netflix version and the paid version are broken for me. The game was sometimes buggy but worked prior to this update.

I'm genuinely shocked that this game is available for mobile devices, despite releasing as a PC-only title (due to hardware limitations). The fact that most of the expansions are included boggles my mind (Total cost is ~$140 USD!) My three gripes: Not all the DLC is included (although there's more than I expected), there is no cross-platform play (which is an issue with Civ games generally), and Netflix account being required (although it being otherwise free is absurd). So it's worth it!

Civ6 mobile is nearly abandonware. The in game description of the rules varies from blatantly incorrect to massively incomplete, a far cry from the civilopedea of games past. The game itself is a mish-mash of mechanics thrown against the wall. Half of the game's victory systems seem designed by an intern then patched twice and forgotten about. As a mobile port ... well, it runs. Play it if you get it free; the netflix version at least has no ingame ads.
