I like playing the puzzles, but when there is no solution to the problem and your forced to use the hint, it tells you to move in ways that are IMPOSSIBLE for that piece to move (level 102 2nd puzzle. Pawns CAN NOT move diagonally unless capturing). And that's just one of the many examples. Even better, many times I've solved the puzzle (mate in 1) "check mate" and the game tells me I'm wrong BUT won't show me how.

I've played around 100 games on this app. Its ok. Competition is weak. Im not gonna lie i like beating up on people. The trophy system that is used is ok, but that doesn't show strength. I beat the top guy in 10 moves. You get trophies instead of rating points. The biggest problems are no rating, draws count as losses in your stats, cant review games, and all the damn ads. This game isn't worth the 5 bucks to remove adds. They have decent puzzles.

I want to give it a 5 star, but I subtracted 2 stars for the obscene amount of ads this game has, I understand the need to show ads, you need money, but I play the puzzles, and after 1-2 puzzles (that are 1 move, so about 4 seconds long AT MOST) I'm met with 10-15 seconds of ads. If I leave a puzzle, more lengthy ads, there is to many ads for this game to be enjoyable. Tone it down, and you'll get more money from consistent players instead of driving away the ones who enjoy the game.

Edit* yes I know ads are an integral part of your game app. The issue is not the ads rather the issue is where you place the ads in the middle of a game and disable the screen making it impossible to close the ad and continue the game in a not so subtle way of mafia muscling people to buy the ad free version. It's dishonest and you know it.

Too many ads! More than is necessary to run the game. This game is a money grab. Also it's very buggy, it doesn't allow you to castle when you're in check. Also a player's move didn't register and their time kept going down and then I lost without even knowing it because in reality they had moved and my time was going down. Editing again to say I'm uninstalling in favor of another chess app because of the ads.

It's ok but ads pop up DURING game play. That's ridiculous, it breaks your concentration and eats up your time since you're playing against live players. I know ads are necessary, but place them BEFORE or AFTER the game! That's basic common sense. I lost a game because an ad interrupted the match and by the time the ad finished, I had forfeited the game. That's a rock stupid mistake. I'm deleting it just based on that.

A very good chess app compared to other chess apps. A couple things that could improve. (1) The ads in the beginning and the end of a chess game is a little annoying bc I'll I want to do is to play a game or two. Therefore, you watch a total of 4 ads for two games. Do wish it was just the endgame. (2) The trainer guide is a neat way for beginners. However, the time I think should be 3hrs long instead of a whole day.

Right off the bat after my first victory, you started bombarding me adds, which the first victory was way too easy. I never even got a chance to set up a profile picture or anything. Simplify the sight. I don't mind the adds, but at least let the players play. Pretty sure my opponent was AI, even though he had a profile picture. You all have some work to do. I will try it again after you make some changes.

Changed my review from 5 star. In a new way of showing ad, the app shows ad to download Facebook app in the middle of the game, which also disabled the screen, not allowing me make any move. And then shows time up and I lost the game automatically twice, lost all credits and trophies twice which it took before playing the two games. I never faced this issue before with this app. But now going to find a different chess app as the bug doesn't let me play.

Way too many adds. There are adds you have to watch after everything you do. From when you start a game and when you finish every game. Less forced adds would make this app enjoyable and I would play more than one game before I got annoyed and close the app. Right now I would NOT recommend this app to any of my friends that love chess. They would get annoyed just as quickly as I did.

This app is fine, but one thing that is annoying is when the puzzles force you to play one specific move. If you do not you lose. I am a well experienced chess player and I have made moves that would be a checkmate in the puzzle, yet the engine considers the move wrong because it was not the check mate they were expecting. Its limiting and irritating.

5 stars if you can fix my issue. I have been playing chess Royale for some time now ( a few years ). And I thoroughly enjoy it. However, I went to play the game today. It kept saying it had an authorization error. So, I reinstalled the game, and now it keeps forwarding me to a no timer game with computers and won't let me back out or do anything else. My account is completely lost!?

Your record is the most important result, and I have lose so many games due to no fault of my own. This app has bugs that will make your screen go black, freeze up, or disconnect from home wi fi and mobile networks. I have the best mobile network in the country! So its no fault of my own. What really sucks is I play Blitz which is only one minute per move. And usually by the time you fix the error you have been defeated because your clock timed out.

This app in all honesty deserves a 5. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because of ads. Hear me out. I'm ok with ads I know it's part of the business. However in the middle of a bullet game you CAN NOT have ads pop up. It's takes at least 5 to 10 seconds to click off of the ads. And when that happens MULTIPLE times in the same bullet game is crazy. You only have 60 seconds. So Half of the game time is wasted Before the game sure. After the game sure. In the middle of a blitz or bullet game NO WAY

It's actually more stable and much better than the Facebook version which is refreshing. The major setback is indeed the ads. They'll show you an ad, then ask if you want to boost your rewards (in game coins to purchase boards and emojis) by watching an even longer ad. It's not that bad though. I love the puzzles. The worst part is the battery drain. It literally chews it up. 4 stars.

This is a great app for anyone's level of chess. It can teach lessons from basics to tactics and it also has some enjoyable customization of boards, avatars, and emojis. 3 things to nitpick: 1. I feel the options for timer choices is a bit slim. I wish we could choose the base time and bonus time. 2. For friends, I wish I could see their status if they are online or not. 3. Everything is on the slow side. I'm fine with slower apps myself, but I feel like this could drive some people away.

This would be five stars, but ... One star for quick loading and finding opponents and smooth operation--when it works. But it freezes the screen with a dark translucent overlay in the middle of games, and I time out and "lose" and have to kill the app since it stays frozen. I've only played 8 games and "lost" three to this glitch, which is 60 coins, too. I guess an update caused this. Devs should know when an update goes wrong like this the proper thing is to roll back to previous version.

Reviewing based only on opening the game twice is probably unfair, but I had to say something. This app does *not* open to a main menu the first time you download and try to use it. Instead, it kicks you directly into a match. There is an "exit" icon in the top right hand corner of the screen *which doesn't work!*...until the match starts, then it disappears and you have no way of declining or exiting to the main menu. I didn't get any further than that before deleting the app.

Chess Royale is among the best Chess Apps out there. It's just as good if not better than the Chess Master series for the home consoles. The app offers many lessons for both beginner and advanced players. There are tons of puzzles to develop and improve one endgame strategies. And there are options for online play, practice against CU, and solo play. And the ads (although many) are not a nuisance and don't infer too bad with gameplay. Nevertheless, there are paid options to remove them.

Pretty good game. It's a little ad heavy but not to the point where the game is unplayable. The only problem I have is with the analyze function. I completed a game in six moves with a well-known technique and when I analyzed it, it showed that four out of the six moves were blunders. So in conclusion, I guess my only recommendation would be to take a look at your analyze function and have it take into account techniques used in the chess world.
