Ads are full screen and take over your phone for several seconds with no way to exit, leaving you unable to answer calls or texts. The ads are also VERY loud and without warning or a way to mute them. I don't mind ads, but when they are full screen and leave me unable to use my phone, it's a deal breaker. In response to developer. Thanks, but I have decided to no longer play games on Android. Nearly all of them prevent me from answering calls, texts, etc. due to inability to exit.

I get ads to support your app, but an ad between each match. Sometimes two. And if you left the game idle and then try to start a match, you get an ad. It's a three because it's Chess, so it does it's job. But I don't feel like waiting between matches. Oh yeah, I read some other reviews. Yes, it will just randomly call it a draw if you're close to beating the AI.

You know, I kind of like this app. I'm a pretty seasoned player, and this app has a lot of what you are looking for. I personally think the engine you play against could be a bit tougher up to the master and grandmaster levels, but it's a good confidence boost. I've noticed a few bugs, not saving statistics, puzzles having multiple solutions but only 1 correct answer and what not, but overall this is a pretty fun app to take the pressure off the rating grind on other online sites.

This is a great app, but really buggy. It frequently loses all me progress, for example sending me all the way back to the beginning for puzzles, or telling me I can't play "hard" anymore because I need to beat "medium". And as others have said, it often glitches when reviewing a match, especially when there was a pawn promotion. Please fix!

I absolutely love chess and downloaded this app to play, but I do not understand why if the match goes for longer than a certain amount of time, checkmate is considered a draw. This isn't an "everyone is a winner" type game. In a normal chess match, this would consider the opponent a loss. I won't give this app 5 stars for this reason. Appreciate some of the features, the different levels of difficulty on the computer opponent is very nice, but until this changes, I will sadly remove this app.

It's a good game, if adds annoy you just play offline, but I've noticed, for the past 4 times in a row, it says it ends in stalemate, RIGHT BEFORE the AI is about to lose, doesn't matter if I'm 3 moves away from winning, or like the last time I played, literally got checkmate, but it still ended in a draw, so I'll have to quit the game because of that.

AMAZING GAMEPLAY! After every match you might have an ad or two but the gameplay is SO SMOOTH! After every move it tells you where you can and cannot place that piece so you can see where you would have the best move. It even highlights your opponents move so you can see where he/she went. Amazing game overall, a little less ads and I would rate it five stars.

Good chess game, nice visuals. Would like to see which price was just taken, there's no visuals to indicate that and i find myself having to undo and replay the same move to see. It's not enough to just look at the pool of pieces taken. Also the game loses your win/loss data almost every time you go to the screen. I've literally never experienced an app that loses user data as much as this app.

Overall a decent app. But it's extremely annoying how often the game is ended with "it's a draw!" when I'm in the middle of a game. I'll be setting up 3 pieces to eventually checkmate the computer, and it will suddenly end with that message. Incredibly frustrating. Update: reducing this to 2 stars (from 3) because the at least 75% of my games are suddenly cut short with "It's a draw!" while I'm still honing in on the king. Infuriating. Sending devs screenshots.

I'm a beginner and know just the fundamentals of chess. Just need some experience playing. Love the "undo" in which I use to understand the game better. I'm slow...and a real teacher can lose patience. This is less embarrassing.Haven't been interrupted with a single ad. Simple to set up and start playing. A small downloaded app that doesn't take up a lot of room. No lags. So far, it's perfect and suits me wonderfully as I start as a beginner with room to play more difficult games, as I learn.

Great for learning the VERY basics of the game. Not that great for learning beyond that point. There are 10 levels of difficulty but there is a massive jump in difficulty between level 3 & 4. I've won level 3 probably 100 times but have never even had a competitive match on level 4 after trying about 30 or more times. There is nothing more this limited app can do for me even though I've only been able to explore 30% of the levels. Have to move on to another.

I don't think the difficulty level is jumping too much... I've played 5 games and moved up a level with each win, and as of level 5, I think the progression has been nice and steady, while still making more competent moves with each level, to the point where you can learn from it. I also like that they have a redo button (only use it for misclicks - you can't go back in a real game when you take your thumb off the piece 😉)

I like the app. I am learning. However. The glitches. I have undone moves and my pieces just disappear. I have beaten the computer, chose review game, watched the add, then it goes back to main menu. This means I can't stay the game. It would be nice if this app held data. At least a minimum of the previous game. It doesn't. Once it's gone it's gone. When glitches take that valuable info from you, it's a bummer.

It's a pretty good app so far. I'm still playing easy mode since I'm a novice, so I can't comment on the toughness of the AI at harder modes. I've seen some reviews saying the difficulty increases a bit too much between some levels. If that's the case, I may have to find a different app; I don't want an expert level opponent if I'm trying to play medium difficulty. I do like the puzzles, although a handful of them say I've failed even though upon reviewing the board I absolutely did not.

The levels are not calibrated very well. It has a scale of 1-10, with one as easy and 10 as grandmaster. I'm beginner, with some knowledge of tactics, but still a beginner. Level 2 is super easy. It makes stupid mistakes and I had a 100% win record. Level 3 jumps so significantly, I have a zero percent win rate. Level 2 just gives me the opponent's queen for no reason. Level 3 includes end game tactics that force a draw if down to just the king. You can't learn on this kind of scale.

nice free game to either learn on or just play at random whenever you'd like. you must beat each of the levels before you can advance to the next one so you can get stuck at a particular level for quite sometime without being able to play any higher. Not necessarily a bad thing considering that if you can't beat the level you're on, why would you want to try a higher level? If you're a narcissist with rage issues then that might not apply.

It's chess. But the difficulty scale is horrible I'm no pro but it ranges from 1 -10. 1 beginner 2 easy which the ai really is easy 3 says middle but it's way out of my league. Next issue is the stalemate. After several moves of no significant action it will call the game. I get it when you corner a king but not when there's only a few pieces moved

Overall a decent chess game. I kinda like that they make you play through the easy levels first. I did observe a couple bugs though. They both involve the screen that pops up at the end of the game. (It has the title "Lost! Retry your last move?") #1 This screen pops up so fast that you can't see the computer's final move. #2 This screen has a button labeled [TRY AGAIN], which shows a video ad - even for premium users who have paid to remove ads.

Great offline chess program that gives me a strong game at about 2100 rating at the top level on my phone. It moves quickly. I use it to train before tournaments. It plays more like a human than a lot of programs. The only critique is that the first time it was necessary to beat the other 9 levels to play the top one but that only took me half hour or so and then I could choose any level in future games. The ads after the game can be avoided by turning off internet.

The first three difficulties are a breeze and then it highly jumps in challenge once you hit Medium or Hard mode. The puzzles are pointless because you pretty much do the same move in every challenge to win. It doesn't scale up at all. And the learn the game section just tells you the basics. It does teach you combos or known moves at all. It's definitely not a game for beginners. Also, the price to remove ads is just crazy.
