The app is great! I have been looking gor chess coaches like this for a month. Glad I found this. Next time perhaps Ill rate it 5 stars. The problem is just that, when I study openings, I couldn't go back to the previous moves. In addition, I also can only reproduce after I finish the whole tutorial. Hope youll fix it! 😊

I would rate it 5 🌟 because it has very special tasks. I can practice checkmate in 1 move, 2 moves, 3 moves and 4 & more moves and it contains no video adds. Despite these, it has a lot of features for chess practice. By practicing this anyone can become chess expert. I would definitely recommend you to install this app. THANK YOU FOR READING THIS & YOU'RE WELCOME IF YOU FIND THIS HELPFUL.

Well best app for puzzles fr as all puzzles are different no ads but there are alot of positions I bet won't happen in a game for million years but it still helps us to find patterns and will help in normal games for sure

Over all really good, but a couple of the mate in X moves depend on the opponent making a mistake. Ex. Mate in 2, Med. level, puzzle 84, white must move his king (incorrectly) to C1 for the mate in 2 to happen. So it's not a true mate in 2 scenario. Also there are several that have multiple correct answers (Ex. Mate in 3, Hard, Position 4: Qxh7+ will also get you mate in 3). It'd be nice if the App could recognize ALL correct answers and not say "wrong move" when it's not. Thanks

Pretty good, but needs improvement. When you move pieces it instantly moves instead of animating it. No delay between moves so mult moves happen at once. Disconcerting. It registers illegal moves as errors, so my habit of clicking on a random square to "unselect" a piece is a problem. The puzzle categories are not always accurate. A "mate in 3" got called a "distraction" puzzle when it's not. There's no instructions of any kind and no feedback option or user notes section. Can't do random puzzle

fantastic app for tactics which lower level and club players cab use. i love that its divided by tactical motif but wish that I could bookmark puzzles I found most interesting or difficult. Additionally, there need to be more openings, for example the English is 3rd or 4th most popular for white and keft completely off the list.

I don't mind ads, but screaming loud ads that disturb everyone in the room are a hard no. Edit: "Make less sound in the device" is not a helpful response. The sound in the ad was far louder than all the other sounds in the app, and from other apps. I have deleted the app, and do not wish to deal with further feedback.

I'm sure it hasn't hurt my game. Developer claims there is only 1 correct move. It appears that several puzzles have 2-3 correct moves, although they dock your score if it is not the move they prefer! If you use hint, sometimes when it gives you the hint & you make the move it suggests, it says wrong move! If you hit back & do over it will take the move! Puzzle play has improved, I'm playing the most difficult with very few hints and mistakes! Worked up to Candidate master on another game.

EDIT 3/11: Just tried the app again & was told my first move was wrong and ten moves later was told it was the correct move. Uninstalled. EDIT: WAY too many glitches in the FORK section. For example, I moved to the correct square and was told 'wrong' over and over, hit the HINT button and I was right. Also in the FORK section, in more than example, there are more than one perfectly viable FORKS to choose from. NOT good for practicing.

I like this game, it really helped with my chess. But on some levels ( for example position 26 on mate in 1 easy ) we had to move a piece to a specific square even though it would still be mate on other square's and it would count as a mistake. I just would like to get that changed, but other than that the game is great for learning

Fun, and plenty of challenges; some are repetitive. Mostly 4 instead of 5 because it's lacking some things: when I select a piece and then instead try to select a different piece, it counts it as a mistake; have to deselect piece before selecting another. Also, when watching championship games, there is pause but no rewind. Makes it hard to analyze for a amateur like me.

Good for basic learning, but there's issues. For example, with "mate in X moves" part, there are occasionally multiple solutions, but only one will be accepted. Other valid solutions will be marked as errors. In addition, it doesn't really offer advice on strategy or how to analyse the game. Instead it simply has you move pieces around without explaining anything. Not a good way to really learn the game.

The quality of tactics available to solve are as good as it gets. What I feel is lacking, is the ability to study the position of a puzzle after solving it; however, after using stockfish on each of the first 67 puzzles, I've found the solution isn't the best move in 5 of the puzzles. I do want to mention all 5 examples seem to be ignoring obvious computer lines. Which honestly is wonderful; however, I would suggest adding in a bonus find for them. It would be a wonderfully unique addition.

This is a wonderful app, and certainly worth a download. My only suggestion: on the puzzles, if you click on the piece that is not related to the solution of the puzzle, the screen updates with text saying 'Wrong Move,' even before you move that piece. That makes it easy to find the piece that will do the right move, as it is the only piece that won't prompt the 'Wrong Move' text. Also, on the progress page, it says there are 26 easy exercises for discovered check, but there are actually only 25

This has a lot of good puzzles, organized by category, which you can play through to boost your tactical prowess. There are occasionally issues with piece selection. Also some of the puzzles, such as the first hard mate in 4+, seem to have multiple solutions. Figuring out the expected one can be annoying. Good overall though.

I'm trying to improve my check game and really like the instructional aspect of this app. What I don't like is the look and feel. The game play is to choppy. The pieces just disappear from one square and appear in another. I think of enjoy the world championship replays much better if it had forward and back buttons rather that mere start and stop. Also, if it is to just play the game, play it slower so I can absorb the gameplay and learn, rather than just watch pieces appear and disappear.

I've used a few of these apps, this is so far the best one. As a beginner, I appreciate this app because it breaks down so many situations you face in chess and it challenges you on them using puzzles. There are 100 puzzles for each level of difficulty (easy medium hard). Other apps want to over challenge you from the start and I found that to not be as effective. Whereas this app pretty much installs the lessons in your head.

Runs great. Lots of puzzle, same as any large chess book; however, it fits in my pocket, plays music, and doubles as a phone. Only thing that irritates me is, on occasion, my move is not what I intended, (fat fingers?) and may even be illegel, but still counts as a wrong move. Petty, I know. Over all great app, may get the pro version.

1) Generally speaking, this isn't a "coach", it's a quizz. It doesn't teach you anything, it assumes you already know things and punishes you for mistakes without explaining why the move was wrong. 2) Bare bones, ugly interface. 3) Unlike most intuitive apps nowadays, it requires you to tap again to unselect a piece before you tap on another of your own, otherwise it counts as a mistake. That's just bad design, not the player's mistake. 4) It's padded out with repeat puzzles to feed more ads.
