Very helpful in deciding which calls to. answer and which calls get a message I prepared especially for this purpose. Very easy to use. The app tells me aloud which it is (if it is one of my contacts.) Otherwise, It says something like no identification. Once you install, it does all the identification automatically.

This is a great app for voice caller ID services. I have Android 10. Tried five other apps that did not work very well. It is free. Has ads. Very easy to set up and use. If you have low vision, or simply want a voice caller ID. It is the best. Best app for announcing incoming calls or sms.

Have Note S10+, works great, in settings if you lower the pitch the voice gets louder. I wish my phone wouldn't ring along with the voice it rings, speaks, rings, speaks so that's acceptable and of course not the apps problem. As of now I've had no problem understanding any name said, so I'm very happy with the app.

I love ALMOST everything about this app. My fone seems to "blend in" to EVERYTHING so I can NEVER find it (maybe it's poor eye site and uh ya, I am getting older.... anyhow I NEVER miss a call now, even when. my fone accidently turns my ringer down/off. my only complaint is when it announces, when I go to shut it off,(not the entire app,just the call text ann. happening then) it doesn't go off right away the voice spills out everything

Original post in 2019, I gave 5 stars. I like to know who is calling or texting without having to run to my phone. This will even read out the text if you want. I really like it. Update 4/20/22: the app stopped working. This is the 3rd time I downloaded. This time it worked 2 days and stopped again. I'll have to look for another. Too bad, I did like this a lot.

* Can you tell me why all of a sudden the voice sounds like it has a sore throat? I've tried adjusting the speech rate and pitch, did not help. Perfect and better than my last app. You can choose option to read whole message or just who is calling or sending message. 100% happy here

This could be better if it had more voice & volume options ... wasn't loud enough, when I'm with others....+ I 💜 accents!! PS JaredCo, thank you, 4 your quick answer! Of course, I ✓'d volume and tone (I come from loud & musical people)..Next time, don't assume, anything. True some are not music or technicalogicly savvy, but some are!! I felt offended & defensive!!!! Star count dropped.

I have had this app for a couple years and it has been great, til recently. Now it barely works. I'm guessing my phone has updated to be incompatible? Since this seems to be happening to many people would it be possible to send out the instructions to "white list" the app here? Or and an update in app? Update 3-30-22 The new update is horrible!!! Very annoying to have notifications not wanted. I can't shut them off. Very frustrated.

It is Working great. My old app eCID finally failed after 5 years it was so great. Since I found ping, and I'm pretty happy with ping it's going to be kind of expensive it reads a lot of apps , but it doesn't announce the name of the caller, That's the most important thing was trying so many other apps they didn't work. Somehow, I happened upon this app. It's working fantastic. It's announcing my phone calls. And let me not use the SMS side so I can keep ping too

So far, this app is the ONLY one that has worked for me, and I've tried at least 10. The ads don't bother me - they dont interfere with announcing the callers, which is all I care about. Also, you can adjust settings, I suggest setting announcing 3 seconds , although 2 is decent too. And based on another review I read, I adjusted the pitch lower to make it a little louder. Hopefully this will continue to work as it is, I will adjust my review accordingly if there are any problems.

This is the only one I can get to work properly on my Samsung S20 FE! It works perfectly. The users complaining about ads and filling up their screens need to carefully look at all settings and option. Go to the 'Calls' Screen and at the bottom find, 'Visual Caller ID settings'. You should be able to clean up what ever you want! There's a lot of options there, scroll down!

This app has decreased in performance within the last three weeks. It appeared as needing to be updated, once it was the pitch sound stopped working as well as the adjustment of the volume. No matter how much those two ajustment bars are increased the pitch and volume remains the same. Before an update was required everything worked fine. Now without being able to adjust the volume anymore it's very difficult to hear when it announces who is call or texting. This really needs to be fixed.

It was working again 1/10/22 but now it isn't. I'm taking off stars again 1/10 note: Suddenly working again. I don't know how, but I am glad, because I really love this app when it works. Previous note: I've had this for years, with a mostly no problems, but suddenly it stopped working completely. I tried everything in the permissions and controls, and it is not reading my texts or even giving a sound to announce them. My phone recently upgraded to Android 12. It's a Pixel 5a.

I hate to get rid of it - but I can't answer my phone. It announces, that is good. It does some lookup for names. It does not keep the results. It interferes with call screening, and with answering calls. Can't deal with that one. - - - UI could be much better. It's ad supported, so of course there are ads, but when it launches on receiving a call, it takes multiple steps to dismiss/ get out of it. Plus, "Are you SURE you want to exit?".

3-19-19: Installed previous version, app works as it should now! Thanks! 3-9-19...Not sure what happened, but suddenly the app is calling out when I send a message from my messaging app! Meaning, when I send a text, the app calls out, "New message from Mood!" Mood confirms the message was sent, and announcer says it again! Like I said, it just suddenly started doing this. Also, I had to 'block' notifications from announcer, because it also just started a constant notification that it's running.

Simple, seemingly ad-free & does the job. Updated review 3/16/19 : after working great for the longest time, the latest "updates" caused it to stop actually announcing anything. Many others have the same problem with no response from the developer. Will give it a bit longer out of loyalty to an app that was terribly helpful for a long time. However, without correction of the app or acknowledgement of a problem that they are attempt to correct, I will drop my ratting to 1 star & uninstall.

Works fine, I am happy with it so far. update: After the Android 9 update, it started acting up. Doesn't read out the caller id, just reads "private number" even I had that number listed with a name in my contacts. After contacting the support, a solution has been found and all is well again. Thank you, Steven, for standing behind your product!

Edit: Okay so now I'm having another problem with this app. Every time someone calls me it does what it's suppose to, but my settings automatically opens up to apps that appear on top and I can't answer the call right away until I close that appear on top setting. I spoke with my cell phone provider, and with a tech from Samsung. I have a Samsung Galaxy 8 plus and have the latest updates. Update: I did contact you, and you guide me through some steps and I'm still getting my settings opening up.

I've had to lower my opinion because when I changed phones it didn't behave. I went to a better phone but now I cannot adjust the voice pitch which is important to me. 11/23/22 just got it but seems to work fine. Okay update. I tried several others recently because I didn't like the ad popping up after the call but they all do that and were inferior to this one. One of them wouldn't even let me answer.

Excellent. I would truly like an option to limit the number of words spoken in a given text or Whatsapp message. Some run too long, and it's a distraction. I have a hearing deficit and wear bilateral hearing aids, so the app is a godsend. Also, I use real voices developed by Acapela, so I don't need to listen to Siri or Andy Android (I'm sure not the actual name. The point is, I am glad this app allows voices of choice. I also use different languages and use native voices as needed. Thanks!
